Yamaha Motor Co was split off from the main business in the 50s. Their logo is 3 tuning forks to signify their history of making musical instruments. There are definite areas where their manufacturing excellence in instruments has translated to quality motorcycles.

String spacing at the bridge - anything less than 18mm and I'm stuffed. Nut width - anything less than 40mm and I get chronic pain across the back of my hand. Other than that I'm easy.

I've got one - it's surprisingly decent. The tuners were a bit crap so I raided my parts drawer and changed them. The individual bridge saddles are a little fiddly to adjust but once they are locked down they're fine. Also you can bypass the active circuitry and run passive if you pull out the volume knob. Sounds good though, I have well used super light roundwound strings on 👍

Black beams? Aren't they just shadows from clouds? I saw something like that a few years ago - it looked quite eerie but was pretty obvious what it was.
