  1. One of my favourite drummers to have played with (we were in 2 different bands and may well join forces again) was a click user to sync with sequenced parts. He manages to retain feel and whenever we play together we link effortlessly, like a proper rhythm section should. It's a mutual experience too, we've discussed this.
  2. Goldie Looking Chain were good too. One important rule is that if you are going to be funny it helps if you are musically adept.
  3. Definitely, one drummer in particular always seemed to be fractionally ahead of the beat. I found out he did most of his practicing with an electronic kit at home, I think he was compensating for the latency.
  4. To be fair @SteveXFR's answer is straight to the point. I feel you may be reading more into it than necessary.
  5. I've played in bands that had a lot of electronics, with drummers using clicks and the rest of us synching with said drummers. It feels entirely natural, and keeps everything tight. I've also played with quite inexperienced drummers and had to be the lead with regards to tempo, this is much harder work!
  6. I once got offered a place in a band solely on the strength of my air bass. Easiest audition I've ever had.
  7. Same, the Boss one works fine 👍
  8. Leonard Cohen is hilarious. Edit - I should say was, really...
  9. I must have got lucky yesterday, had a very pleasant Polish chap turn up to collect a cheap PA rig I had advertised on FB marketplace. He paid full asking so I chucked in some cables and old stands. He payed by bank transfer but his bank were very slow to clear the payment. He sent me another payment via PayPal trusting me to refund him when the bank transfer cleared (which it did and I have!)
  10. Snapped coil springs are really common on those. My old one got through several but never did a tyre luckily.
  11. Lanegan was a significant part of peak Queens of the Stoneage - I'll always be grateful for that.
  12. I've only ever listened to it vinyl, so I think the mix is fine! This is the album I learned to slap to 👍
  13. ^^ Nice 👍 I've used a Le Bass, liked it a lot..
  14. This. The one rule about mistakes is that everyone just keeps going. Find your place and join back in, the song doesn't stop.
  15. My old X-trail (09 plate) is massive inside. The extra height over a normal estate car allows for vertical orientation of items that would normally have to lie down if carrying really big loads. It was adequate to transport 3 of us with room for another - 2 electric guitars, one bass, one acoustic (all cased), guitar amp and cab, bass combo, guitar stands, pedal board and kit bags all in the boot. I could even still see out of the rear view mirror.
  16. I currently play semi acoustic originals with two mates I really get on with. The songs are (to me) really great, I get genuine pleasure from being part of it and look forward to playing to more audiences. If it wasn't enjoyable, I wouldn't do it. Maybe find something that gives you that feeling?
  17. That really is gopping! What a minger.
  18. Cheers Rich - I'm looking forward to trying it out properly 🙂
  19. I purchased a Shuttle 6.0 from @Rich - I wonder if it was the same one that started this thread? Anyhoo - it'll come as no surprise that it's exactly as described and he was a proper gent with regards to collection etc. Thanks Rich!
