I had D'addario NYXL 45-100s on, the EQ was a bit odd as its just a single tone control but with quite a boosted sounding top end when wide open. I managed to get some decent tones from it, it had quite wide range.
Interesting that they aren't bound by the same exported timber rules as we are with our wooden crates and pallets. Everything has to have certificates of treatment to ensure nothing nasty is living within.
I'm the exact opposite - a lot of my right hand technique (coupled with my fat fingers) involves getting into the space between the strings which is simply not possible with narrow spacing.
