  1. To be fair the Chemical Brothers are quoted as describing Tomorrow Never Knows as being their manifesto. Its not something they deny or are ashamed of.
  2. I have 6 on most of the day. Tomorrow Never Knows is how the Beatles invented the Chemical Brothers!
  3. Playing sat down is fine if (like me) you rest the bass on your left leg. Your right leg goes in the centre of the V 👍
  4. I only paid £50 iirc. I sold it for a small profit on ebay in the big purge of 2019. The guy who purchased it was delighted.
  5. That was slick, piccolo sounds awesome. Love the brass, and I'm a sucker for a baritone sax. Excellent stuff 👍
  6. A00... serial makes it one of the very early MIJ Fenders. I have a PJ555 (aka Boxer) around the same age - serial A009412. Nice basses but that one fetched all its money.
  7. I live in a 2 bedroom flat, my bed is in the small bedroom whilst my music gear lives in the bigger one. Does that make me a bedroom player? 🙂
  8. Yamaha TRB would fit the bill.
  9. Without the context of the quote, that statement reads very differently!
  10. Because people will say you are greedy, Jaco only needed 4, etc. I can't see myself ever gigging with a 4 again, BTW.
  11. Just heard this on 6music - seemed pertinent https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=G11EycHaP8c&feature=share
  12. It looks ripe for a bit of upgrading
  13. I have a couple of mid-80s Washburn ABT bass guitars with plywood bodies. They are excellent.
  14. I've been making myself play with a plectrum after 30+ years of fingers. I've never been able to get it sounding natural but I think I'm finally cracking it. How Long Has This Been Going On by Ace was just playing on an advert, so I muted the TV and played along with it on Spotify a couple of times using an Encore P with flats and a pick. For once I felt locked in and fluid, actually sounded better than when I switched back to fingers. Not a hard song by any means, but one of those simple grooves that just works.
  15. Wow, thanks everyone some great info there 👍 He has decided to keep it original (sorry @Rich!) so I am looking for a suitable replacement switch. Do you have such a thing @KiOgon?
  16. Oh great hive mind, I seek answers to questions... I have a friend with an old 1A pictured below - it has a broken switch. Is this an active/passive switch? Does anyone know if a suitable replacement? He would like to run passive if possible, so the simplest solution is to replace the switch if that is in fact what it is. Alternatively, is there a decent replacement preamp available? Does @KiOgon provide something suitable? Thanks in advance 👍
  17. This thread seems to be turning into a bun fight.
