  1. I'll send a PM later 👍 He was an amazing musician - Downwind (the album) was one of the soundtracks to my youth and had a definite influence on my playing style.
  2. Good call 👍 he was a friend of my mum's back in the day. I would have loved to have played with Duris Maxwell, the drummer on Devin Townsend's Ki. Sadly died in November.
  3. A bit annoyed that I picked the wrong one on the tuning test a few times - it's counter-intuitive to have to pick the bad one I feel.
  4. I saw that FB add too @stewblack - I get the feeling they know exactly what they are selling but are playing a bit dumb so buyers think they are getting one over them. They were selling a 'Gibson' Thunderbird for £300 too - fairly confident that's going to be an Epiphone with a truss rod cover swap. There's a Shergold headstock in most of their pictures - I'm more interested in that!
  5. That's a proper bit of noisy fun - love it! 👍
  6. I got lucky and managed to pick up a Schaller 471 off eBay from a guy in the States. $74.99 shipped was a bit of a bargain. I'm (very slowly) converting an Epiphone T-bird to an 8 string.
  7. Ooh that is nice 👍 Better than your other Peavey 😂
  8. I know what you look like! 😂😂
  9. I quite enjoy his vids, they're a laugh.
  10. Got any photos @SteveXFR? 👍
  11. It really doesn't sit well tbf. Much like me and a Curbow - just looks like a toy!
  12. "Take my photo and I will cut you" 😂
  13. Quite. Epiphone manage to fit a Tune-o-matic to a T-bird, not sure why Gibson find this so difficult.
  14. Many of my eBay/Gumtree/FB Marketplace* bargains have been instruments that were bought new and then left on a stand in the bedroom/living room/kitchen* for many years accumulating grime. Yours is not an unusual experience, many people do not realise that there is some effort involved in keeping an instrument in good condition. *delete as appropriate.
  15. I have a Ltd83 - the posh version and one of the nicest Encores I've ever played.
  16. My old one was wearing thin in places, felt fine though.
  17. It has a Precision sized nut, not a Jazz nut like the Sterling Sub. Suits me fine, but not others.
  18. Just put them on your ignore list. 👍
  19. Wish I hadn't sold mine, frankly.
