  1. I love it when bc'ers give their insight & personal experiences/thoughts on particular bass guitars and gear etc... ...makes it a dang sight harder to let anything go though... Thanks for the kind words, Cetera, the IH model really is something special...😉
  2. Hello you charming peeps I finally won big on a scratchy and got the £20 to become a basschat marketplace member and all-round supporter of the “low end"... I've even got £10 left over to restock those cans o' beans that's been dwindling in the cupboard. All-in-all a great week!! I'm parting ways with a few of my children (by children I mean bass guitars, if I had children then I would be selling those first) Up for sale here is a near mint Spector Euro 4 LX Ian Hill Signature Custom Bass. Ian Hill is the hairy string thumper from Judas Priest... It's a 4 string with 24 frets, mother of pearl crown inlays and a rosewood fingerboard. 3 piece American maple through neck design with graphite rods for added strength 💪 Scale length is 34", width at nut 1.64" This is a luxury Spector with a slightly thinner and faster neck than the standard 4lx. Spector's Tone Pump active onboard circuitry is also present with +18db boost. Controls are; bridge volume, neck volume, treble, bass. Wood is USA Maple and European Alder. Gloss Black Finished. The Ian Hill Spector has lovely gold hardware (I don't think it's real gold...) A zinc brass alloy locking Spector bridge with string spacing at bridge of .75" You also got the premium EMG P neck pickup and EMG J bridge pickup. This little number weighs in at around 3.9kg. Fantastic all-round condition, slight tarnish on the brass bridge but certainly not offensive. Please enjoy the photos of my garden below... Oh, and the beautiful instrument as well... If you lovely folks have any questions (mainly regarding the Bass) then fire away... Selling for £1250 for y'all beautiful people, I can and will post but that'll cost you extra... Collection or meet part way for fuel cost also an option. Please PM with all offers, thank you!! Rules people, rules!!! Also comes with a heavy duty hard case to contain all it's Raw-Rock-Power!!
  3. ...The UK ripping people off?!… Now I've heard everything... 😋 I barely have any UK friends let alone American ones 😭 great shout though, cheers for the info, Matt. 😁
  4. To be fair, Jacko, I don't much like the horn either but it's just nice to know it's there in case you want to offend bass guitar purists... 😜
  5. Just received this late email from Westside Distributions in Glasgow. I'm assuming they're a Mesa dealership. Seems a bargain... 😕 Hi, The code is 772720. PRICE £104.35. Shipping £1.20 If you would like this please email me your delivery address and I’ll send you an invoice for payment. Regards Oreste Errr.... Okay... 😒 Shipping seems a tad expensive though... 😏
  6. Bang on, Stevie!! 👍 You guys are top! Thanks for the great suggestions and support! What a lovely bunch of folks the BC'ers are... 👌
  7. Thanks for the info. Of course I've got additional, unnecessary money to spend, I buy Mesa!! 😋 Just “horsing" around... Thanks for the tip agedhorse.
  8. Hello all you knowledgeable BC'ers... I have a Mesa Powerhouse 2x12 cab that appears to have a shot high frequency speaker. I have contacted Mesa US regarding a replacement but apparently they won't ship to the UK. The Mesa speaker is a Mesa Boogie 406 High Frequency Speaker Does anyone have a suggestion on where I could possibly source a new 406 speaker or a suitable replacement?... Many thanks!!
  9. Thanks, BassBunny. I'll get in touch with them and get a quote. I'm sure it'll be far cheaper than buying new speakers. “Excellent" advice! Cheers.
  10. Hey Lozz196, Cheers for the shameless product placement. That's definitely ‘food for thought'... I'll check out the Ashdown cab in the meantime. Thanks - “Righteous!!"
  11. Thank you for the advice, Bill. I don't have immediate access to speaker modeling software so I think it may just be easier to fork out the pony for a replacement 86-531-04 speaker. However, I fear there is a good chance that the other speakers in the BXT410HLF 4 will give up the ghost shortly. I mean the cab is quite retro and I am not the first owner... Cost of replacement 86-531-04 is roughly £170 delivered so multiply that by four and you got the cost of a brand new Ampeg cab... My, my, the things we do for Bass!! Whilst I'm on the subject of investing in new cabinets... Do any of you lovely Low-enders have recommendations for an awesome pair of cabinet models to biamp through a Ampeg SVT5 Pro?... I'm thinking two 4x10's or two 6x10's unless someone cares to intervene. Maybe run one cab low frequency and the other high... Looking for good mids and great low end. Thanks again. “Excellent!!"
  12. Hey Low-enders! Got an awesome Ampeg BXT410HLF, sounds magnificent however the voice coil has gone in one of the speakers. Current speaker model is Eminence 86-531-04, rated 150 WATT 4 OHMS. The Eminence 86-531-04 is discontinued stock but I'm sure I can purchase a replacement from overseas and at a pretty penny. I've been contemplating replacing one, two or all of the cabinets speakers with the Eminence Legend BP102, 200WATT 4 OHMS. These speakers have a greater frequency response however am I going to run into problems with the slightly higher wattage rating of the Legend compared with the 86-531-04?... Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated... (providing I haven't opened a “ Dr Google ” type discussion resulting in an infinite dispute of what is and isn't correct). Thanks again and... “PARTY ON!!!” - “Excellent!!!”
