  1. Brilliant, cheers for that. I'll give them a go.
  2. Thanks! I think the thicker strap one sounds to be the best. I'll have a look. I did see the flappy ones you're talking about and I think that could get annoying. As for hair hiding the strap, I haven't even got enough hair to hide my head these days unfortunately! What with all these age related loss of things, I probably shouldn't be headbanging in the first place. Growing old disgracefully! Cheers again for the input.
  3. This bass is about 2 months too early for me (damn you, month in hand overtime!) but love the look of it. If it were a P in that colour though, I'd be begging..I mean chatting with my wife right now! Anyway, thought I'd just say hello as I'm in Bury St Eds, so quite local to you. so er...hello!
  4. Hello! I'm tired of making sure I keep my head back, and hardly move while playing. My bands pretty active on stage. I used to be too but my eyesight is terrible, I can't wear contacts and my glasses move around loads at the best of times. I was watching a Red Fang performance and noticed the bespectacled bassist/singer had what looked like a swimming goggle strap round his head. I've since looked at a few glasses straps on Amazon but has anyone had any experience with any of them? I need ones that can get dead tight on the head ideally. We're talking headbanging here, not just John Deacon style nodding. Its one of those issues I assumed there was no answer too. Along with the eyesight, I suppose that's another symptom of being old. No faith in technology. Thanks in advance!
  5. Cheers. They are so easy to play. I'm currently looking for something with a chunkier neck, possibly my first American precison. There's a great solo by Doug Wimbish on Youtube if you haven't seen it. Master Of Warwicks.
  6. Cheers! Yes I did have a good idea what to find ha ha. Looking forward to doing a bit of both.
  7. Hi all. Bit of a long time lurker here. I'm what you call mature I think. Been playing bass for 25+ years in all kinds of bands, from soul to power metal. I've finally settled on vintage heavy rock as my happy home. I play in two original bands, one is old school hardcore thrash punk, the other is a stoner, vintage style groove rock band. Gear wise, I'm currently using one of the newer Warwick Rockbass Streamers, through a Peavey Minimax and whatever cabs are working at the time (usually with a Big Muff Bass). Will (should) be getting an American Pro Precision at some point before the summer. I'm in the East Anglian region of the UK. I've got a lot out of the forums here, so decided it was about time I said hello and got involved at least a bit. Cheers!
