  1. I was a bass playing music teacher, then a bass playing Citizenship teacher, then a bass playing Assistant Head, now just a bass player. Massive respect to all the overworked, stressed out teachers 👊🏻. Those who know, know how hard you work.
  2. Late to the thread, as usual 🤦🏻‍♀️. Great idea and a great community!
  3. Amazing amps. Absolutely love Phil Jones stuff. This is an absolute steal. If I wasnt at the other end of the country, I'd have this in a heartbeat.
  4. Good lord. Somebody buy this bass. For those who have never played an Everson bass, this build quality is as good as it gets. https://www.facebook.com/eversonguitars Check out the Facebook link.
  5. How is this still here? If I wasn't skint, I'd buy this just because it's available!

    Neural Quad Cortex

https://neuraldsp.com/quad-cortex-updates/quad-cortex-owners-were-giving-away-eur5m-of-free-plugins So the QC is finally able to support plugins and Neural is giving away a free plugin to users. Does anyone have any experience with Neural Plugins? (I have zero) Just wondered which one I should aim for. The two contenders seem to be the Parallel X and the dark glass suite. (I'll probably end up getting both anyways 🤦🏻‍♀️).
  8. I've owned two everson basses and they are utterly sublime instruments. The craftsmanship and woods are incredible. The only reason I didn't keep the two I owned is because I'm a lanky twit with long monkey arms and they didn't sit right on me. glwts!
  9. Thanks mate. I'd be intrigued to hear your story / solution if you ever write it down. Thanks for replying
  10. Anyone have any experience with using one of these? I've got a trapped nerve in my left shoulder which struggles like mad when I pick up a bass. I'm hoping this is temporary but I'm trying to find options. I just wondered if anyone had used one of these, I couldnt use one on stage but for rehearsals and practising... Thanks Andy
  11. Update: First gig with the cosmic ears IEMs. Went for the expensive IEMs (close to 1k with the ear mouldings) from cosmic so was expecting a lot and was not disappointed. Logically I should have realized this simple equation a long time ago: The band I play in all use IEMs, guitarist uses a Helix system, Keys player has some stunning Korg Nautilus synths / pianos and stage sounds. We use click tracks and electric drums. Probably north of 12-15k worth of stuff was being channelled into a QSC desk and sent to my rubbish 80 quid IEMs and then I was wondering why I couldn't get a decent sound. last night, completely different ball game. Clarity was unbelievable. I went with the 6 driver IEMs from Cosmic, mainly because the bass reference was the cleanest for my ears IMHO. I should have done this years ago. It would have saved me money and hearing. .
  12. The First thing that appears is 3.03 on the display. Sorry, I'm not very good with this pedal!
  13. Update: Went to Cosmic Ears and ordered some IEMS. Just waiting on the order! Cosmic were brilliant, really helpful and really knew their stuff. Thanks again for all the advice!

  15. Oof. Good job you're not up north. Lovely bass
  16. Thanks everyone for replying. Really appreciate your answers. Going to go for some moulds over the next week or so.
  17. I think this is the main factor for me. I had a terrible few gigs where I was trying various different fittings, the PA was loud and as my IEMs moved, fell out, got aggressively shoved back in my ear, I think I have damaged my ears. I'm 51 and have had slight tinnitus for a long time (misspent youth playing in thrash metal bands). Since these few recent gigs I've had constant loud ringing in my ears. I'm not sure if it's purely loud volumes or pressure or whatever. Hence the moulds. Think this might be the answer to avoid any further ear related nonsense.
  18. It's tricky for sure. I've tried cheapish shures and then upgraded to Mackie's (still cheap). Unfortunately I ignored my normal mantra of 'buy cheap, buy twice'. I should have just bought the bullet and got IEMs with 3/4/5 or more drivers and custom moulded fits. Bass response just isn't there on the cheaper ones imho and the fittings are inconsistent at best. Probably would have saved myself 500 quid or so, ah well.
  19. Thanks so much for answering this thread guys, I knew I could count on basschatters for decent advice! Just realised after a quick Google that Cosmic ears are just down the road from me as well! Result!
