1. I liked them both - congrats. You now have to keep us updated with all the news and when more material will be available!
2.
This just in...
Seriously considering one of these myself. How are you finding it?
3. Some great choices here. One of my favourites is this one - Time To Dream by Greenslade and their very underated bassist Tony Reeves. http://youtu.be/7Lwduo0ygxU Enjoy:)
4. Sudbury in Suffolk.
5. Could be, if you're quick... PM me
6. Wetton / Bruford either in KC or UK
7. It's Bump time again. Very open to offers. Discounts considered for two (or all three!) Well, you never know! Questions?
8. Bonzo and JPJ get my vote.
9. Time for a bump. Any questions? Offers?
10. Yeah, sale only I'm afraid. Sorry about that...
11. Thank you Fretmeister. As I said my rule isn't exactly up to engineering standards
12. I couldn't say as I don't have one to compare against. Having said that the hardware looks to be the same so it's likely that they are.
13. I only have a cheap plastic rule so this isn't going to be super exact but it looks like 18 or 19mm at the bridge and about 8 or 9mm at the nut. Hope that helps.
14. 2012 Bongo 4 HH Stealth - £900 I need to move this beauty on. Sale only no trades I need the cash. 2012 Bongo 4 HH Stealth. I bought this one new and it's in fab condition with minimal player wear. It sports the usual head stock chip which I've tried to photo otherwise the body is great condition. There is a small amount of player wear on the neck pup pole piece under the E string. The black coating has started to wear a bit thin, see photo. All the electrics are fine; the action is nice a low and the neck is straight and true. This is a very comfortable bass to play, it sounds wonderful and the neck is very slim - Jazz like, and for those who want to know it weighs a mere 8.5 pounds or 3.8 kgs as measured by my bathroom scales. It comes with its original MM hard case and all the case candy. http://www.music-man...es/bongo-4.html The Pics http://s46.photobuck...es%20For%20Sale I live in Sudbury, Suffolk and you are welcome to pop over for a play and cuppa. Naturally cash on collection is the preferred choice here. I’d rather not ship but if you are willing pay by bank transfer and accept the risk I would be prepared to ship fully insured by courier at your expense or you’re welcome to organise your own collection. I will get a cost for shipping upon request. There. I think I’ve covered everything but please feel free to ask any questions and I’ll reply as soon as possible.
15.
From Bill Brufords Facebook Page: Really saddened to hear of the death of my old Yes band-mate, Chris Squire. I shall remember him fondly; one of the twin rocks upon which Yes was founded and, I believe, the only member to have been present and correct, Rickenbacker at the ready, on every tour. He and I had a working relationship built around our differences. Despite, or perhaps because of, the old chestnut about creative tension, it seemed, strangely, to work. He had an approach that contrasted sharply with the somewhat monotonic, immobile bass parts of today. His lines were important; counter-melodic structural components that you were as likely to go away humming as the top line melody; little stand-alone works of art in themselves. Whenever I think of him, which is not infrequently, I think of the over-driven fuzz of the sinewy staccato hits in Close to the Edge (6’04” and on) or a couple of minutes later where he sounds like a tuba (8’.00”). While he may have taken a while to arrive at the finished article, it was always worth waiting for. And then he would sing a different part on top. An individualist in an age when it was possible to establish individuality, Chris fearlessly staked out a whole protectorate of bass playing in which he was lord and master. I suspect he knew not only that he gave millions of people pleasure with his music, but also that he was fortunate to be able to do so. I offer sincere condolences to his family. Adios, partner. Bill.
Says it all really. +1
16. Try speaking to Pedro at Brighton Guitar Workshop. He did some electrical work on one of my basses a couple of years ago and I was very pleased with the result. His workshop is a bit of tip but he does good work. http://brightonguitarworkshop.co.uk
17. Like so many of us here he was the one who got me listening to the bass and what it can do. A sad loss indeed.
18. The late Jack Bruce played one albeit fretless. Look for Cream's 2005 reunion concert on Youtube.
19. I'd buy the Akai Deep Impact on eBay..... ...can I have another £45 please.....
20. I stack mine vertically - 210 on the 212 and the RH450 on top. Sounds marvellous and a small footprint too.
21. I use a MM Bongo(HH) which can archive a great range of sounds played through a TC RH450, which has three presets, so I can have a gnarly amp setting for London Calling and similar songs and with the push of footswitch get an entirely different sound set up for China Grove for example with an entirely different sounding bass. Using the pickup blend on the Bongo means I also have a nice range of sounds from the two Pups right on the bass before I need to change the eq. I also find that being able to play with a pick or fingers can also influence the sound. I also have a small pedalboard with Chorus, Octave, Synth/Wha and Distortion for specific songs. I guess the for the cover band gig you need a flexible bass plus an amp and effects set up that offers the widest range of tones and effects with the minimum of fuss. It works for me anyway:)
22. I was think along the BB line myself.
23.
My shout goes to Pete Trewavas from Marillion.
+1 for Pete. A really tastful player.
24. I've just used the the Report button on The ad to alert Gumtree that this is a fake. Hopefully they'll remove the ad and stop some innocent and less well informed buyer from getting ripped off.
