1. As already posted the Bongo Stealth is very back, including pole pieces. Here's mine. Sorry, I don't know why it's rotated...wasn't taken that way, but hopefully you get the idea.....it's black!
2. Have you looked at the Spector Legend? Might be worth checking them out if you haven't.
3. +1 for Dennis Dunaway Eric Czar would be my nominee. He played bass with Joe Bonamassa in the early days, he now does mostly solo stuff but is great player and worth checking out IMHO.
4. The original format was pretty good and I used it quite a lot. Then they "updated" it and it became quite difficult to use and not very user friendly IMO. Then Facebook came along and it was game over. Shame it was great in its day.
5. I bought my Bongo Stealth from Project Music, good price and very helpful service. http://www.projectmusic.net/music-man-809-c.asp Worth having a chat at least.
6. Good luck and be sure to tell us everything
7. Another thumbs up from me. They do a good job.
8.
Just an update re my previous thread: http://basschat.co.u...underbird-q-as/ After reading the replies, I decided to take a punt on a 2008 Gibson Thunderbird I saw on eBay for £749.00 + £30 insured shipping, and included the original Gibson hard case. I won it 8pm on Friday and it arrived at 12.05pm today (Tuesday), it was described as immaculate, and sure enough, it is in absolutely pristine condition. I have just played through our set with it on a strap at home, and have to admit that my shoulder and neck are aching a bit, and I think it will take some getting used to, but I'm going to give it at least six months rehearsing and gigging with it to see if I can get accustomed to it, if I can't, I think that I would have a pretty good chance of selling it on for around what I payed for it. Here are some pics my bird!
You don't mention what strap you have. Might be worth investing in a wider strap or a strap with some padding in it. That will help the shoulder and as they say no gain without pain Nice buy - use it often
9. Yes I remember seeing this too. Red faces all round I recall! Not one of TVs finest moments.
10.
Looks like the Denon HiFi amp I had in the 1980s! I'm sure it's great though.
Look like Cyrus HiFi Amp to me... http://www.cyrusaudio.com/product-archive/amps Not that there's anything wrong with mind!
11. They're good aren't they. Made feel a bit queezy though......not your playing! - the motion of the camera
12.
Great song.
Yeah, not that one for a while. I also liked Secret Smile from the same album. Back to the OP. We used to finish with Enter Sandman as it has a "goodnight" theme to it. Always went down well.
13.
GK RBH series 4x10 is a very wide cab due to the side ports. Sound stunning to boot.
That would my suggestion too. I used to use a 4ohm version of this cab a few years ago. It sound absolutely immense. It is however very heavy but so worth it!
14. This was one of the very few times I actually bought a single CD. It's a great song, never hear it on the radio and yes, fab bass playing. One of the great "lost" songs. Thanks for the post.
15. I'm a happy RH450 user. Love the features and the sound it makes
16. For me they usually are a good place to start. More often than not there are mistakes and quite often only the main bits of a song are tabbed. So as long as you have this in mind and be prepared to work out some of it for yourself they are OK and can save you a bit of time.
17. Looking at the pre amp there are some 93 date codes on it...might help. Nice find though! I'm sure Rob will be able to tell you.
18. Non original pups and a refin.... £3.5k seems about right Still it did look very nice....
19. I went to the Brighton gig last year. Herbie (and Chris Spedding) really enjoyed the whole show and was close enough to feel the gear from the heat rays! uuuulaaaa!
20. Welcome. Not visited the shop for years, must do that one day. Visit the web site quite often, but it's no substitute for the real thing
21. Just finished watching the first two episodes. Really enjoyed them, so far so good. Looking forward to the next one.
22. Just about to watch it on BBC iPlayer. Like Dave and the Foos no downside for me!
23. Sad indeed, but that solo lives on!
24. Used to do Hash Pipe way back when, which I still quite like, otherwise they've pretty much passed me by without leave much of an impression..
