1. Thanks to Ivan for the 1/4 Pounders. Great guy to deal with. Cheers!
  2. Could be wrong here but I think the guys at Enfield may have already done this... http://www.enfieldguitars.com/ Just sayin'
  3. Theirs is the best version of Delilah by far.
  4. Hi Sean, Sorry it's sold. I must admit I thought I edited this post to say so....clearly it didn't work.I'll try again.
  5. Never tired or owned a Wal but have had two Overwaters and they really are fab instruments. Chris is a great guy and if you're only a couple of hours away I would definitely go see him and have a chat and a test play, then you'll know. I would also think that the delivery for a new Overwater would be much sooner than a new Wal...
  6.
Well that's a tip. I had no idea these pedals had dropped in cost so much, swear I paid £50 or so a few years ago for one. I may well grab one!
Yep I got mine from there. You get a free patch cable too!
  7. I suppose it could have been worse... He could have been wearing sandles with his socks.....
  8. Into The Arena....blimey I haven't heard that in ages.... There are quite few instrumentals on Cozy Powell's solo albums IIRC
  9. These would be good for starters. Bass Gallery http://www.thebassgallery.com/ Wungo http://www.wunjoguitars.com/uk/wunjos-brand-new-bass-centre
  10.
In the Dead of Night is a great track I was jamming it the other day with the drummer from my band. But how can any mortal guitar player attempt to play those Alan Holdsworth parts?
I used to play this one a few years ago in a Prog Covers band - a really great song. I also saw this line up play the at Rainbow Finsbury Park (in '76 or '77) I clearly remember getting my chest pounded by the Moog Tarus that John Wetton deployed during Alaska....fabulous stuff. Happy days
  11. I think there's some reasonably accurate tabs out there, which may help. But the opening run down does start Bb as already mentioned. Once you get it it's really nice to play. Enjoy
  12. I'm about to start work learning Hysteria and from a bit of searching on google the sound on this song a achieved with a Digitech Bass Synth Wah and a Big Muff. Santa is going to bring me the Digitech and I have a Digitech Bass Driver already on my pedal board that will have to substitute for the Muff. I hoping to get close enough with this set up. Chris does have a Deep Impact and dozens of other pedals plus rack effects and an almost limitless budget Not sure if that helps or not...
  13. Done Slade in the past - nice bass line
  14. Each to their own and all that but personally I think he's ruined a perfectly good bass...IMHO of course!
  15. Hey You is a good one, featuring some nice fretless bass. +1 for Animals always liked that album.
  16.
Don't laugh but The main intro riff of London's Calling by the Clash is surprisingly tricky to pull off rhythmically and feel-wise. I thought it was going to be a piece of p1ss to learn, but I still have to concentrate a little bit extra when playing it. Still not sure whether to play the last note on the G or D string.
It's a nice bass line that's for sure. We do it in my band...along with The Spirit Of Radio......that's giving me a few issues at the moment but I'll get there!
  17. I enjoyed it too. Good player...can't spell King Crimson though!
  18. It's a bit of minefield. First you think of a name that you like, so you do a bit of research and there's a band out there that already has it. Start again, you think of another one and hey presto no other band by that name but the rest of the band hate it....And round and round it goes. I'm in the same situation....
  19. OK, I can't resist. Here's my orange one. Juicy!
  20. Wow, great price for a great bass!
  21. Used my Stealth 4 HH at band rehearsal this morning. Amazing power and versatility, so pleased with it.
  22.
There's an Hp CAR Bongo for sale on the EBMM forum for sale thread. There's a Bongo club on Talkbass but not on here I think...........
Yes I saw that one - fretted though but very nice none-the-less.
  23. I'm lovin' my two recently acquired Bongos - 4 String HH Stealth and a 5 String HH in Tangerine Pearl. They play beautifully, sound immense, are very comfortable to play and I can't fault the build quality. I'm now GAS-ing for a fretless 4 H Piezo.... Wish I'd found out years ago just how good they are! Is there Bongo porn thread?
  24.
My bands PLI is from these people. http://www.ampband.co.uk/ Quite cheap I thought and the cover seems good. But we haven't put it to the test. Les
This is good info - I was thinking along the same lines for my band when we start gigging... The other thing to consider is having your gear PAT tested....
  25. NOW SOLD.......NOW SOLD........NOW SOLD.......NOW SOLD......NOW SOLD A recent purchase of a TC Electronics RH450 and cabs means that this fantastic bass amp and cab are now up for sale for £600 ono. The ranges of tones you can get from this set is pretty amazing - it does not disapoint. Made in the UK The Klystron 500 was a limited edition run that was hand built in the UK. This 575W amplifier mixes a great retro look with that fabulous Ashdown bass tone. Along with the Amp there is a matching 4x10 cab, again made in the UK. The cab is rated at 1050W rms at 4 ohms making it a perfect match for the amp’s output. Here’s the amp spec: The 575-Watt Klystron 500 head features a single input is switchable for passive and active instruments with a blend of solid state and dual triode tube preamps stages. Three straightforward rotary tone controls provide 20dB of cut and boost at 60Hz, 660Hz and 5kHz, and are supplemented by two pairs of additional sliders giving 15dB cut and boost at 180Hz, 340Hz, 1.3kHz and 2.6kHz. A built-in dual band compressor acts separately on the high and low frequency components of the signal to provide precise control, while the on-board sub-harmonic generator turns the Classics into powerhouses of tone.

Power Output (RMS): 575W
Frequency Response: -3dB at 17Hz and 30kHz
Speaker Outputs: Minimum impedance 4 Ohms
High Instrument Input: Impedance 3.9m Ohms, input range 150mV - 20V p-p
Low Instrument Input: Impedance 10k Ohms, input range 300mV - 40V p-p
Line Input: Impedance 22k Ohms, input level 0dBu nominal
Line Output: Impedance 10k Ohms, level 0dBu nominal
DI Output: 600 ohms balanced, level -20dBu nominal
Tuner Output: Impedance 1k Ohms, level 0dBu nominal
EQ: Bass +/-15dB @ 45Hz
Middle +/-15dB @ 660Hz
Treble +/-15dB @ 7kHz shelving
Slider 1 +/-15dB @ 110Hz
Slider 2 +/-15dB @ 340Hz
Slider 3 +/-15dB @ 1.3kHz
Slider 4 +/-15dB @ 2.6kHz
Shape (Push Flat) +8dB @ 50Hz & 4kHz, -8dB @ 400Hz, filter slope - 6dB/octave
Effects Send: Impedance 22k Ohms, level 0dBu nominal
Effects Return: Impedance 22k Ohms, input level 0dBu nominal
H x W x D (mm): 310 x 470 x 240
And here’s a bit more about the Cab. Proudly built in the UK, the Classic Series is Ashdown’s flagship bass amp range. Central to the performance of the 1050Watt, 4 x 10 + horn Neo-410h cabinet is the use of new, custom developed Neodymium speakers which incorporate a number of advanced features including a cast aluminium chassis with thin brackets to avoid sound wave reflections, a magnet circuit with heat sink rims to ensure rapid heat dissipation and decompression holes in the cone. The result is a ultra-lightweight bass driver that just keep getting louder as the level is increased, delivering a powerful, consistent bass tone at all volume levels and with no power loss over long performances. Made in 2007, both the Amp and Cab are in very good condition. Yes they have been used and lightly gigged – as they are supposed to be! But they have been very well looked after and show only minor signs of wear and work perfectly. Included is the 4 button footswitch that allows you to control the Valve Pre-Amp, EQ, Compressor and Sub Harmonic functions on the amp remotely. There are covers for the amp and cab. A quality speakon speaker cable, mains cord and user guide complete this package. Here's some photos I can send more photos if required. They are located in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. These are large and heavy items and I don’t have means or material to package them securely enough to ensure that they would not be damaged in transit so it's collection only. Naturally you can have a test play before you part with your hard earned - frothy coffee and biscuits will be available. No offers of trades please, this is for sale only. I may be open to offers to sell the amp and cab separately, send me a message and perhaps we can work something out. Thanks for looking.
