2. Percy Jones, John Giblin, Dill Katz Might be having a listen too
 3.

It was okay, a bit of a montage of previous Hendrix 'Rockumentory's' and old interviews - some new footage and pictures a some great stuff from Eddie Kramer (but nothing new really, almost reciting his book about Hendrix TBH). Enjoyed watching it because Hendrix was such a great player.

Although Paul McCartney *may* have been responsible for some of Hendrix's career progression, he just comes across really badly about it.......

Unfortunately, I am a bit of a Hendrix junky, so, I have read and watched most of the stuff on him over the years. The film gives a good insight for those less obsessed!

I would like to see a film about Terry Kath (Played for Chicago/CTA); I love Kath's playing and Hendrix cited Kath as 'The best guitar player'....

http://www.terrykath.com/

I thought JH said that Rory Gallagher was the "Best Guitar Player" In that JH was asked what's it like to the best guitarist in the world and JH said "I don't know, you need to ask Rory Gallagher"....Of course I may have that completely wrong. Enjoyed the documentary too!
 4. Very good....enjoyed the joke too!
 5. Lets start with what you have now...
 6.
You mean like these? Early serial numbers, 61 and 101, though the Lacewood one has a replacement fretless neck, and the blue one now has the Lacewood's birdseye and Pau ferro neck. Both from BobPalt on here. Cheers Bob! Early serial numbers, 61 and 101, though the Lacewood one has a replacement fretless neck, and the blue one now has the Lacewood's birdseye and Pau ferro neck. Both from BobPalt on here. Cheers Bob!
NIce! Mine is serial 6812. The Purplewood fingerboard is fabulous and no longer offered. They are really well put togther basses. Still quite rare though!
 7. I put some Dunlop Stainless Steel Strings on my P Bass......lets just say I don't love em. Will be changed for something else as soon as.
 8.
Getting my order in soon for the Deepressor and the Octave pedal i can remember the name of.
I'm interested in their Octave Pedal, it's called an Unterton. Have you got it yet and if so what do you think?
 9. I've never seen another bass (or guitar for that matter) by US Masters. http://www.usmasters.com/basses.htm I bought my Fretless EP53 from fellow a bass chatter. But they don't seem to have any sort of representation in the UK. It's a lovely bass and plays as well as Stingray 5 Fretless I had a few year ago, anyway here's a pic. So I guess this makes a rare beast
 10.
Hi there - hoping someone can put my mind at ease!! Just picked up my new (to me) Klystron 500 and cabs. Like an absolute idiot I accidentally plugged the lead from the line out into the speaker output! It sparked and gave a electrical burn smell but I pulled the cable out a split second after I put it in. The amp seems to be fine and is behaving as it should, if a tiny bit buzzy. I was wondering if anyone can let me know if they think I've got away lucky with this or I should be worried? Tested it out several times since and no smell or obvious faults. And yes, I do feel incredibly bad about my stupidity..... Cheers Devbass
Hope it's OK for you - as already said the team at Ashdown are very helpful. Might be prudent to have an Amp Repair Man on standby... I have the same amp and it's fab so it will more than repay you with great tone and performance. One more thing... Don't do it again!
 11. As I said before Rich. Very, very nice, especially the red one. More than a little covetous...
 12. That's it, the dark amber coloured one. Lovely. " I'll try to take some better ones and post in the Gear Porn section with some info on the specifications." - yes please. Is that wood cap a custom order? Thanks Rich.
 13. ATTENTION - Status owners who brought their basses to the Bass Bass. As a former Status owner (Status S2 5er headed 1993) and hope to be an owner of a Status again I was very pleased and not a little envious of all the lovely Statii on show last Saturday. One in particular caught my attention but I cannot now remember who the owner was. The bass was an all carbon fibre example, 5 string headed and it had a Maple(?) capped body and binding. The owner of this wonderful instrument let me have a go on it and it was fabulous. The thing is I don't seem to be able to find a similar instrument on the Status web site or the Statii owners web site. So could the owner of the gorgeous instrument please get in contact and tell me what model it is and hopefully send me a photo or two so that I have an example of the bass for future reference, 'cos I want one... Here's hoping
 14. Really enjoyed the day. Good to put some faces to the user names! Was amazed by the number of Status (Statii) basses that were there....I've got some serious GAS now.... Lots of Bareface cabs too. Here's to next year.
 15. Same for me as other postees. Never had to return anything I ordered from them. Their service is however, excellent. I did have an occasion to call them to find out when a shipment was due and they could not have been more more helpful - even their customer service staff speak excellent English. Not sure if that helps but I wanted to share anyway! Share and Enjoy!
 16. That's lovely Mr Largo. Jon's work is fantastic.
 17. Weren't most of those guys using flats? That would make a contribution to their " P sound".
 18. I'm really lovin' my P at the moment. I've had 'Ray's in the past and they're great too. Currently GASing for a Ray to make a perfect pair!
 19. I used to play it like this. https://myspace.com/thecarpetsharks/music/song/kiss-47055617-50425169 Always went down well. Not sure if it helps you though...
 20. Oh yes Tubetone.....great stuff
 21. Hi I had a Rebel 450 for a couple of years and I liked what it did a lot. Best compressor I've ever used. Hope that helps.
 22.
Me too, did you consider asking whether the MiA range are worth a few dollars more?
23. My only experience with MIM Fender is my 1995 P. Great neck, well put togther, body finish is top notch. The only thing I changed is the bridge. The BBOT it had for a bridge was a bit flimsy but now I've put a Gotoh 201 on it the bass really sings. I did briefly have an 83 MIA Jazz. Now that really was a piece of SH1T Go figure...
