1. Used to have an XT Live and I can also vouch for it's quality but it takes a while to get it set up right, using the USB feature and tweaking it via your PC is a good way of setting it up to the way you want it. It's good for recording with as well.
Sounds like most of the newer multi-effects units would do what you need. I've got the Line 6 XT Live & it's pretty easy to program different effects onto each patch, so you can have a standard amp sound on the patch and then use the stomp, modify & reverb/delay stomps to modify the sound. The only downside I find to the unit is that it sometimes boosts the volume when you change between patches. Still haven't got to the bottom of that one, but it's a very good unit. There's a new one out now, isn't there?
2. Oh yes very happy with 2 x 10 and 2 x 12 set up. I can't fault the sound at all - prior to this I was used to hearing myself through a GK 4 x 10, which I really liked. This has all the punch of a 4 x 10 but the 2 x 12 add something more , not as "flappy" as a 15 but more a controlled bass extension (I think) difficult to explain it really - In other words, it's like having a 2x10 and 1x15 set up but more refined.
How do you find the cabs themselves compare with others performance wise. I'm already chuffed with the head. Are you happy with your 2x10, 2x12 set up or would you change it. Peter
3. I've posted stuff about TC in the past. But since the topic is specific, I thought I'd add my bit. Been using a RH450, RS210 and RS212 plus the foot controller for some time now and I'm totally happy with, I play mostly rock covers and it seems to handle this music with ease. It has oodles of power and the three switchable presets are very useful. The built in tuner is great and the footswitch, which also has the tuner makes everything very easy to control. It's true that the cabs are a bit prone to damage but I now have some covers for them so there shouldn't be any more. All in all the best rig I have had so far. Prior to this I've owned Trace, Mark Bass, Gallien Krueger and Peavey rigs and the TC set up beats them all IMO. Hope that helps.
 4. Got my RH450 and foot controller, RS210 and RS212 from Bonners Eastbourne. No problems, good service and what's more the TC gear is fab! Go for it I say! Hope this helps
Hey all! I've been trying to track down a good deal on a TC Electronics rig - reckon I'm going RH450, RS210 and the floor controller. Now, having some Yorkshire heritage, I'm a bit scared of laying down over a grand in one go - Christmas is coming up and a girlfriend who has been made redundant from her job doesn't really help matters. I know sense says to wait but the amount of gigs I have lined up and having no transport makes it difficult to lug around my 'full-size' gear. Anyhoooooooo - back to my question. Has anyone bought from Bonners? Their prices seem decent and, more importantly, they offer a buy now pay in 6 months at 0%, also 24 and 36 months finance. Please let me know good or bad
5. Yep the 20th is sold, just waiting for the money to come through, the 2007 LE is now on ebay.
Hey All, Thanks for the kind replies about my Warwicks. John(UB) Thanks mate, any luck selling your other basses ? That 20th anniversary looks awesome John(WH) I bought Jazzman from Waldo, who said he bought it from you. Another fine example of an instrument owned by you that was kept and sold in excellent condition . Still wish I could have your SS1 That is a beautiful Wick !
6. Hi Ken Nice basses Like the Thumb...
 7. It says that on the album (The Resistance) he used a different bass on every track (he thinks). He doesn't say which bass, which track etc but he names checks these basses; Fender Active Jazz, 73 Jazz (bought from ebay!), 80's Status Headless, A Pedulla, Gibson's Grabber and Ripper. As for amps he says that for all the clean sounds he used an Ampeg STV Vintage reissue and Marshalls for the 'heavy stuff" plus an old 70's Orange bass head. That's about it...not too specific I'm afraid, but I hope it helps
 8. As with some of the others, Moving Pictures - YYZ, Tom Sawyer...in fact the whole album is mighty fine IMHO. Also some of their live CDs/DVD would be worth checking out. Their first live album All The World's A Stage is great as is their Live DVD Rush In Rio, there's some cool stuff in there too! Enjoy!
 9. I have recently switched from Stingrays to Warwicks - like a week ago! Yes, moving to 24 frets does throw things out a bit but you soon get used to it. I have a Custom SS1 which has a PJ configuration so I can't vouch for what the JazzMan does sound wise but for sheer playablilty, for me, it blew both Stingrays away. I also have a P Bass and have owned a Jazz in the past and I reckon my Streamer is a far better instrument, but I won't be selling my P Bass though As am sure you will hear many times, go try one or two, the new Streamer Double Bucks are bolt-on and I've just got a 5 string one of these. It sounds huge and you've a nice range of pick up switching options, great neck and no heavier than either of my 'rays even though they are 4 stringers! So I'd audition one of these as well. There you go, hope that helps
Back around the late 80's, I had an advert from Warwick advertising a Streamer. It was the light ash or maple colour that they do and it had yin and yan dot inlays. I fell in love with it and always wanted one. However, I am a Fender bass player through and through. I love the feel, the neck length and the sound of the Fender basses. They are perfect for me as a player. The only other non Fender bass I love is a Stingray. Apart from the sound which I am not keen on, it basically looks and feels like a Fender so thats good enough for me. So, am I going to like a Warwick Streamer? I was looking at the Jazzman as that has a bolt on neck (I hate through neck basses) and it looks pretty straight forward. One concern is the neck looks so long. It has 24 frets where as the Fender has 20. What sort of sound will I get from it? I keep hearing about this Warwick growl but I prefer the smooth well balanced tone that you get from a Fender and certainly not the middle sparkly sound from the Stingray. Are they quite versatile tonally? Before I think about spending some money in the future, just wondering what the general feeling is towards them. Thanks for any help. By the way, I will never sell my Fender Jazz or my Stingray. I just fancy making one of my dreams come true and getting a Warwick I fell in love with.
10. Just to let everyone know that Ken is great to deal with and a top man. Am loving the bass, couldn't be happier with it! Thanks Ken
 11. The additional pick up does add to range of tones you can get from the bass - I particularly like the tone I get with the single and front coil form the humbucker (position two on the switch), cuts through very nicely.
I have one of those Blueburst Music mans only mine has a single humbucker, it's one of the best basses I ever played....
12. I tried one a few years ago at a guitar show in London... The Carbon Fibre neck was lovely and it balanced well on a strap, sound wise it was difficult to tell with all the noise going around but it's active with jazz type pick ups and it sounded like it would do the job. I think they stopped making them since then but the PB series looks pretty much the same. But as everyone else has said, damn - they're ugly. Love the guitars, if I had the cash I'd probably have one Flys....marvelous.
 13. Yep, Strictly cash. No exceptions. If they don't go from here by the end of the week then I'll be putting them up on evilbay
MB1. ..Strictly Cash on these?....(Just checking!) BUMP!
14. +1 for me on the Line 6 as well. Nice sounding amp, has lots of features to boot!
A bit +1 for the Line6 Studio 110 here as I have one as a practice amp. I A/B compared it against a Roland Cube in the shop when I bought it and through the Line6 sounded more 'natural', whereas the Roland models came across to me as a bit of a 'characateur' of what they meant to sound like. The Line6 is very pokey for 75 Watts and I've used it as a rehearsal amp with very well behaved drummers, and have gigged with it a couple of times DI'd into a big PA. The Roland Cube isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination but it's well worth comparing the two to see what sound you like the best.
15.
If I sell my CS Inifinity NT in a few days count with the purchase of the 20th Anniversary if you don't mind ships overseas.
I guess I would ship overseas, but given the weight of the bass + flightcase it could be quite a pricey exercise! Let me know if you are serious and try and get a quote for you.
 16. UPDATE 30/10 20th Anniversary is now sold, pending receipt of payment. 2007LE is still up for grabs, make me an offer - what's the worst that can happen. No Trades though please. If nothing is forthcoming this weekend then it'll be put up on evilBay Would much prefer that it goes to a good home here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Last week I had a bit of a revelation...I tried out a Warwick Streamer Stage 1 and was blown away by its playability and sound. So much so that I bought it and have just also bought the 2003 LE Thumb Bleached Blonde from Ken on this forum... Now this means that I have two very lovely Musicmans, that are still great playing and sounding instruments, that I need to move on to make room. These are lovely instruments and whoever buys them will be most pleased. Both guitars have been gigged and have a few minor dings and scratches but nothing that detracts from the playability or appearance of the basses. The 20th Anniversary comes with a very sturdy (and heavy) flightcase and the 2007 LE H/S comes with it's OHSC. I am prepared to ship but will need to get quotes first. Collection is most welcome, I live in Heathfield East Sussex. All questions welcomed and will be answered as soon as possible. Now to the prices....I'd like £1000 for each instrument, all reasonable offers considered. Remember these aren't stock instruments. Here are some pics:
 17. +1 from me on the Stingrays, like them so much I got two!
 18. +1 to that! Welcome
 19. ..and what a nice bunch they are too! Nice one from a fellow East Sussex-er
 20. I reckon you'd get a better response if you placed an ad on a musician search website. Try www.partysounds.co.uk it's free! or www.joinmyband.co.uk which is also free. Good luck
Hi all, I did not get to much of a good welcome when I posted this post on a guitar forum, guess that's because I am a bass player.... Anyway I thought I would post here as we all seem to be much more helpful towards each other..... So, here's the post!! I am currently the MD for a female singer songwriter and have been tasked in finding suitable musicians for her project, and that's where the guitarists come in. I need to fill the vacancy for two guitarists who can work towards a showcase gig potentially at the end of November, schedule providing. The successful two will be part of a line up that will do all of the necessary promotion, TV, Radio, tours, to promote the already recorded album. So to all you guitarists that may be interested, open auditions are planned for the end of next week and ongoing until we can find suitable, players. The location is in the Guildford catchment area and that is where auditions will take place. Interested players should check out www.louiselegry.com and then mail me or PM me and we can take it from there. There are some tracks on the site but I can provide you all with more information and tracks pre-audition. Thanks in advance guys Steve
21. I put these two up a while ago but on a different topic but since this is about Musicmans here they are again My 2007 LE SR4 My 20th Anniversary Edition SR4 Enjoy
 22. Pedaltrain - Make great pedal boards, come with a case or a bag as well. I've got a Pedal Train Junior which has two pedals and my TC Electronics Foot Controller and there's more than enough space for a another pedal if I wanted. I got a power supply from Maplin which works well, i've mounted on the underside of the board so it doesn't take up any space on the top of the board. http://www.pedaltrain.com/Home/Pedaltrain_JR and one of these... http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=31292 Hope this helps!
 23. Don't anything about them other than they look interesting so what about the new cabs from orange? http://www.orange-amps.com/products.asp?Ac...View&ID=116 Just throwing into the mix....
