1. I put them them on my PRS and Suhr basses a couple of months ago and my experience so far is that they are very good. Easy to fit and easy to use. I'll certainly buy a set again if needed. There is also a thick strap option which is very useful on thicker bass straps. Hope that helps
2. The TC Electronics RH 450/750 has three preset channels. I have a 450 and use one channel set up for each of bass; one passive, one active and keep the third free for anything else I might need to do - extra overdrive, compression or perhaps eq'd for a specific effect, etc. But in your case one for each bass would work perfectly and with the foot controller, it's easily switchable and you get a nice tuner as well. Simplez.
3. I've got the Vox Headphones and they do the job very nicely. You can also plug in an iPod or similar to play along with backing tracks etc. All in all a good bit of kit for the money. You can also use them as stand alone headphone too.
4. My year of birth too..... So rare to see an unmolested one. Fab-u-lous.
5. +1 for Hercules. Good and sturdy.
6. There's also Find A Musician. This one plus JMB, Bandmix and Gumtree should capture most bands looking. Also if you're on Facebook there's a few musician available/looking groups that you could join too.
7. I'm 55 so I hope I'm not too old either.... Like you I'm looking for a band to join. Age doesn't seem to be an issue, but finding a band or members to start one seems to very difficult. I guess the only answer is to stick with it and keep looking. Timing is everything and being bass players we should know a bit about that!
8. Is Vic There? Great song. I've not spotted this one yet... Calling All The Heroes - it Bites
Frijid Pink - House of the Rising Sun Department S - Is Vic There? Harry J Allstars - Liquidator
9. I have a Snark and it works well. Can't comment about its gig-worthiness though as I only use at home.
10.
I always though it sounded like 2 separate bass parts on the recording.
Me too.
11. I've been to many a loud gig. I think the loudest may have been UFO at the now long closed Rainbow, Finsbury Park sometime in the late 70's or perhaps Gary Moore at the original Marquee Club again in the late 70's. Happy days
12. There also Find A Musician https://www.find-a-musician.com As with the other comments there are all sorts on here. Bandmix and JMB seem to have the most activity. Good luck with your search, I'm in a similar position myself...meeting up with a guitarist on Wednesday to see if we can get something going....maybe this time...maybe
13. GAK's listing for this pedal says it's been discontinued. Digitech's website isn't saying it is but all the usual stockists appear not to have it in stock so I guess something is up... I bought mine from GAK about a year ago for £33 which was very cheap but I guess they were just trying to shift the stock. So it looks like second hand market will now be the only way to get one now. I love mine so it won't be going anywhere just yet
14. Just watched it...... I'll keep schtum for now
15. But aren't heavy basses good for metal? I'll get me coat.
16. Had a question about the weight. It was in the description but I think the fraction font I used confused things. So I've corrected it in the description. It weighs 8 and half pounds or 3.8 kilos.
17. How did the Magellan perform?
18. A bump for the weekend.
19. I have a Snark clip-on and it works just fine. Nice and easy to use.
20. I'm a 1961 vintage and I've had two 61 Ps over the years and frankly neither of them did it for me. I didn't like the necks as they were a bit too big for me to make them a comfortable play..I'm more of a Jazz neck sized guy (cursed with smallish hands you see...) Anyway I think I've got YOB basses out of my system now, I've moved on and much happier for it :0)
21.
UB...your Username has been bugging me and I couldn't figure out why - just hit me...Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band!!!
It sure is...usually only people over a certain age will get it.
22.
It is a bloody long wait though isn't it... I ordered an MK3 fretless sixer in November and it's still well over a year away
Yep it sure is...but at least it gives me sufficient time to save up for it!
23. As has already been cited a few times already for me it would be a Wal MK1..... In fact my lovely wife said more or less the same thing to me. My Birthday was in January and now I've only got 21 months to wait for my fretted MK1 with birdseye maple facing.....if is something is worth having it worth waiting for.
24.
Still happy with mine, the new four stroke looks nice too if you don't fancy the blend/gain feature of the OB1's.
I'm quite taken with the four stroke too. Would be good to find some real world reviews of this one.
