1.
Now THAT'S a cab!
+1 Always loved the look of Acoustic gear - wouldn't mind playing through some too! Sadly, I'd never be able to fit one of these in my car.... Anyway, GLWTS
  2. BUMP for what is a very cool bass! Not everyone can afford such a thing (me included), but is is really quite special I think.. GLWTS
  3.
Elizabeth Fraser.
+1
  4. Indeed... I would imagine that, in the right circumstances, these would create a 'Storm Baer'!
  5. That's really funny, Chris.. But quite accurate too, as I'm playing 4 string basses almost exclusively these days. So, in a way, I suppose it's the end of an era for me as 5 string player. My BC Rich Eagle and recently acquired Hayman 40 40 get all the playing time these days. But if you could have a quiet word with the top brass at Fender for me, it'd be much appreciated!
  6. +1 on the p/ups being Bill Lawrence.. Nice bass by the way!
  7.
Superb work there! Will you be open for business and custom orders soon?
+1 Great to see something like this; really makes you realise what alternatives there are, instead of always just buying what's already out there in the marketplace.
  8.
My Wal was 30 years old yesterday. I think I will keep it.
Congratulations on the birthday and for making such a wise decision.. I think you and your Wal are inseparable.. My BC Rich Eagle is about 30 years old, and the Hayman 40 40 that I bought recently is almost 40 years old.
  9.
and they were awesome. Jack Bessant on bass. Late 70s P bass with a Mesa 400 watt head into an ampeg 8x10. oh my!! It was packed in there and for the first time since I was a kid, I got down the front early (and I mean, the front). Lasted about 25 minutes, it was too hot. What a band, if you haven't seen them, just do it.
What a great story. Always liked Reef!
  10. Fabulous gig last night at the St Paul's Art Centre in Worthing, West Sussex. It was a David Bowie Tribute event held to celebrate the musical genius of the late, great Starman himself, and to help raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer research... Lots of different artists played various Bowie songs from the 60s right through to the present day and my band, Replay, did 'Fame', 'Fashion' and 'Rebel, Rebel'. The crowd loved it and it was an absolute honour for me to take part, being a life-long Bowie fan! Also, it gave me a chance to do a 2nd gig with my recently acquired Hayman 40 40, which is such a great bass it's managing to usurp my BC Rich Eagle at the moment, which has been my 'go to' bass for a long time now.. Anyway, here's a few of pictures.. One of the band, one with me and my usual 'bass-face' and one of the venue from the balcony. As I hope you can see, it's a beautiful venue! And a very cool looking bass... Cheers, Nik
  11.
I sold a cab to Mike this week. He's highly knowledgeable in all things bass, and was great to deal with from start to finish. Highly recommended!!
+1
  12.
If it's any help, this is one of the best balanced basses in the universe and feels nowhere near the actual weight it is. Regret selling mine. Unfortunately, I'm on best behaviour (translate as warning)
Thanks and that is true; the RBVs I've had never felt heavy, even on long gigs. They also sound great too.. Just took this out to take some more photos and had a noodle on it for a few minutes afterwards. It sounds really good even unamplified!
  13. Cool.. Then I'd like it please. I'll PM you later to sort things out, Cheers Nik
  14.
Wow, these are impressive. I really wanted these, but struggled to find a matching pair so went with barefaced, had these been around at this price... I'd have had your arm off! Bargain for some amazing cabs here for some lucky guy or gal! GLWTS.
+1 GLWTS
  15. Hi, Is the Korg you're selling the same as this one: http://www.musicradar.com/reviews/tech/korg-microkey-401709 Thanks Nik
  16. Trouble is, there's so, so many wonderful singers. It all depends what mood I'm in and what type of music I feel like listening to.. But if I had to choose, then these would be my favourites I suppose, because I've listened to them repeatedly over the years , and still do. Male: Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Bowie, Marvin Gaye, Donnie Hathaway, Prince, Jeff Buckley, Jim Morrison, Guy Garvey, Lennon/McCartney. Female: Kate Bush, Ronnie Spector, KD Lang, Bjork, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, Jane Siberry, Alison Goldfrapp, Amy Winehouse, Minnie Ripperton. Some brilliant names already mentioned above too!
  17.
How is this still here?
Lots of interest so far Luke, but no definite takers as yet..
  18.
These cabs are great for any type of music thanks for the like though Silverfoxnik
Very true; a great all-rounder!
