*** NOW SOLD *** Hi Folks have this quite rare Reussenzehn Daniel D valve Tubebooster for sale, which I'm asking £NOW SOLD + p&p. I did try and sell it a while ago via the Effects forum some time ago, but I think it might fare a little better here on this forum.. Brief history is that I bought it here on Basschat about 5 years ago (for a lot more money to be honest) and though I have used it quite happily on and off since then - either as a volume boost or for warming up the signal chain when using solid state amps - now that I have an Ampeg V4BH valve amp, it's just not getting used at all. This is quite a rare piece of kit that produces a really warm, valvey tone that makes a huge difference to the overall presence of your sound when playing live!! And as a bonus, it provides a significant gain boost which is particularly useful if you use passive basses like I do.. It's currently fitted with a Sylvania 12ax7 from 1976 (that I got from Walbassist earlier this year) which can be bought with the Daniel D for an extra £20, which is what I paid for it. Otherwise, the unit will come fitted with a more generic 12ax7 valve. It was given a full service about 2 years ago and is in full working order.,, It comes with the PSU, which is adapted for UK usage. Photos: Here are some internet links if you want to know more: Reussenzehn website (Look on the 'Musiker' page under bass preamps) Harmony Central Disco Fred's Effects database According to the website, these retailed at 189 Euros new but I'm looking to for £50 plus P&P in the UK, which I think is quite a fair price. If you're interested and want to know more, please ask here or PM me. Thanks for looking Nik

Yep, Trace Elliot amps definitely eat 3 Shredded Wheat for breakfast! Well, let me know if you ever decide to sell one of you black/maple P basses..

I have a Schecter Diamond P5 that is so good, I very quickly bought it back after foolishly selling it last summer.. Only my opinion of course, but this range of Schecter basses is very underrated! Because of that, I'm not surprised this hasn't sold yet, but when it does, someone's going to be very happy with their purchase. GLWTS
Did you travel all the way up this end of the world Nik? If I had known that I would have arranged somewhere nearer to me when we traded my Yam TRB!!!
I did Russ, but only because I happened to be in London that weekend.. It all worked out quite fortuitously for me I have to say; managing to fit an early Sunday morning trip out to Tim's part of the world into a very busy day, picking up a great sounding amp and getting to meet Tim for a very interesting chat in the process.

Thanks Tim, Yesterday went well thanks.. The Trace head sounds great; I've had a chance to use it today and am amazed at how loud it goes! Lovely tone too..full and rich with a lot of variety. Really enjoyed chatting with you yesterday and have to say, that's a very nice collection of basses you have there! All the best Nik

Bought a Trace Elliot amp off Tim today in a completely hassle-free deal... As well as selling me a great sounding amp, I also had a chance to chew the fat with Tim about all things bass and also, to try our a few of his very nice basses.. That passive P Bass is a stunner btw Tim ! Very cool scratch plates too. Thanks Tim; it was an absolute pleasure dealing with and meeting you. Nik
Top bloke, bought my Trace amp, came round with the cash and dropped off a bottle opener for me Really easy to deal with, left me with one of his amps to play through while I source a replacement, what a gent! Just one thing... Being five miles down the road I can still hear that Trace amp, turn it down a little, mate
Bloody noisy bass players!!

I've had the pleasure of playing this bass a couple of times and it really is a fabulous instrument! Condition is every bit as good as Ollie has said it is and, to my ears at least, it sounds great too.. Very versatile and plays like a dream. Ollie's a good guy to deal with, so no problems on that score either. Suffice to say that, if you're interested in acquiring a quality, vintage, Japanese made bass, then this is probably the one for you! GLWTS -
Mick saw my plea for Status Hot Wire strings. He called Status to find out stock levels then sent me a message, also recommended them to newcomer The Hat. Upshot was Mick got 2 sets,I got 2 sets,The Hat got 1 set and Status now have sold out of them. I count at least 5 lives enriched by his actions today What a great Fella.
+1 Mick has just been helping me out with something too.. He's an absolute Gent and embodies what the Basschat community is at its very best!
So sad. I know nothing about them but, from the brief item on BBC News, they seemed a nice, talented, group of guys. RIP.
Same for me Roger; I'd never even heard of them until now but this is such a tragic story.. Young musicians, good friends no doubt and just beginning to live their dream. Terribly sad for them, their families and friends. RIP

Anyone mentioned Kate Bush yet? I'm thinking of 'The Dreaming',''Hounds of Love's The Ninth Wave', 'Aerial'.. All fantastic IMHO.. As are Prince's 'Purple Rain', Bowie's 'Diamond Dogs', 'Low'... And does Tubular Bells count as a concept album (if it hasn't already been mentioned)?
