1.
Love the idea of solid state v valve amps - a cracking idea that. Hope someone with both bits of kit can do a bit on this.
Mike??
 2.
I'll be tweeting and facebooking your cry for help, Nik, starting from today. Hope someone comes to the rescue with talks or tests. I'll bring a small practice amp as a raffle prize.
3. OK; a very late and quick update re: next Saturday's Bass... Arrangements for the various spaces are as follows: Foyer area: Sign-in desk, refreshments (courtesy of Hamster & Mrs Hamster ) and a 'Buy/Sell' area. The Raffle will also take place here. Theatre: Space for Talks & demos (more about that in a minute) and for low volume level gear/rigs Main Hall: This is the place to set up your gear/rig if you want to make a lot of noise!! (last year it got pretty loud in here, so be warned...) Jam Room: As per normal - the place to have a Jam with Paul on drums (hopefully) and other creative Basschatters.. Raffle: Has anyone got something they'd like to donate to the Raffle? If so, please let us know - thanks. Talks/Demos: Sincere apologies to one and all but for various reasons, we've not organised much in the way of talks/workshops this year, which is a bit of a shame after last year's Bash. However, we do have one talk happening that is being given by Happy Jack (time to be confirmed). Happy Jack's Talk: Jack has finally got the better of his chronic bad back through Pilates, and wants to share his experience with anyone who’s having similar trouble due to regular bass playing. Jack did this talk at the West Sussex mini-Bash in August and it was really good, so it's well worth checking out! A last-minute Call To Action! Is there anyone coming along on the day who'd like to do a talk/workshop/demo for us on the day? It could be about pretty much anything bass-related really.. To give you an idea, at recent Bashes we've had:

Theory workshops
Double-bass workshops
Gear demos
Set-up workshops
Talks about pre-amps & e.q, acoustics & cab design
Talks from pro musicians
Etc, etc.. At the last Herts Bash there was a really good P-Bass Test for example, so if anyone fancies doing something along similar lines, that'd be cool... Or a 'solid-state Vs valve amps' shoot-out would be good... Basically, anything that shares some good ideas, shows us something new and gets us thinking would be great! So, if anyone would like to step forward at this late stage with an idea, a suggestion, please let us know! Thanks and see you all next Saturday. Nik
 4.
Can't make it now sorry - I'm away seeing my family so at least I have a legit excuse! Shame as I wanted to demo my laptop FX setup - it'll have to wait until next year - I posted a video of some of the sounds here http://basschat.co.u...54#entry2584054 Cheers chaps - hope it's as good as it usually is Mike
Sorry to hear that Mike! Hope all's well and look forward to seeing you next time Nik
 5.
What a great looking bass.
+1
 6.
Always thought about coming but as everyone seems to know what they are doing basswise and I have difficulty playing root notes I've always bottled it If I did come I'd bring my GUS G3 retro and Parker Fly PB51 and a couple of Ibanez RB850's from the 1980's (if they haven't sold by then) if anyone was interested?
Cool! ...Bring them all down - the basses and you would be very welcome and you'll have a great time
 7. Thanks for setting up the FB page bluejay 3 weeks to go type BUMP!
 8. That's a great price for a very nice looking Wal ! The original case that's included makes it even more of a bargain.. GLWTS
 9. Wow - shocked!! I had the pleasure of playing through these cabs at a charity gig last year and they sounded fabulous! GLWTS
 10. Just ordered a speakon cable from Dave, Great piece of kit and super-fast delivery - made it in good time for my gig on Friday! Thanks , Nik
 11. Sorry to hear that Al, Although, if you put your head out of the window on that day, you'll probably still be able hear the noise coming from the main hall, if last year's anything to go by! Nik
 12. Sorry to hear that Al, Although, if you put your head out of the window on that day, you'll probably still be able hear the noise coming from the main hall, if last year's anything to go by! Nik
 13. BUMP for a really good looking J bass! I have a Schecter Diamond Series Precision 5 and it's a fantastic instrument; incredibly well made, built like a tank, plays and sounds great. All in all, excellent value for money... GLWTS
 14.
String spacing on these and All pre gibsons are 17.5 mm and 34 inch scale.
+1 Years ago, I had a pre Gibson Tobias Classic 5, and it was one of the most resonant and funky sounding basses that I've ever had! Same Bart pick ups and pre as this, so this Standard model should be one hell of a great sounding bass! Good price too for a quality through neck instrument, IMO. In the end, I couldn't really ever get used to the 17.5 mm string spacing, but it was fun while it lasted... GLWTS
 15. Great to see the list growing in numbers; some lovely gear on it too Yep; there'll be a space for selling stuff, as per usual.
 16. Very nice looking bass! I have a Blade B-15 and absolutely love it, especially for it's authentic jazz tones and slim neck profile, which isn't always the case on 5 string Jazz basses.. So I'm guessing this will be the same but with even more tonal variation, which is no bad thing. GLWTS
 17. Cool looking bass Is that a Bill Lawrence pick up on it? Looks very like one I had on an 80's BC Rich Eagle years ago... GLWTS
 18. Just sold my Schroeder 21012 to Si, who was brilliant to deal with throughout! He's a credit to Basschat, so you deal with him in complete confidence. Thanks for buying the cab - hope you enjoy using it.. Nik
