*** SOLD*** Thanks for looking Hi Folks Up for sale is my [b]Schroeder 21012 [/b]bass cab, bought on here almost a year ago from JPJ. I'm looking for [b]£240[/b] (plus p&p) or near offer for it. To be honest, it's a lot less than I paid for it last year, but I realise that the market is very slow at the moment and that larger cabs are not so 'fashionable' any more, so it's priced hopefully to sell quickly. [b]Reason for selling:[/b] Although it's a great sounding cab (more about that below), I'm selling it simply because I now have too many cabs, having recently acquired both a 2x15 set-up and a very portable 2x12 set-up... And, with an SWR Triad as well (which I have no plans to sell), I now have three very different cab set-ups for gigs to choose from, and I'm only gigging once or twice a month as it is! And I'm mainly using cabs with 15s in them as much as possible, when venue space and my energy levels allow.. So, it's time for me to be sensible, make some space and hopefully, claw back a few £s... So with thanks to Kev in advance (see here for more info: [url="http://basschat.co.uk/topic/219051-schroeder-21012-for-sale-sold-pending/page__p__2240092__hl__schroeder%2021012__fromsearch__1#entry2240092"]http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2240092[/url]): [i]"If you've never heard one of these, you won't believe the 'room filling' sound you get from such a small box. The cab is 600mm x 600mm x 405mm deep (23.5" x 23.5" x 16"). I don't have an accurate weight for this but the old bathroom scales say its around 30kg."[/i] I think Kev really has a point; this cab really does fill the room and offers fantastic clarity - especially as you use travel further up the fretboard and use notes higher up the register. As if to endorse that point, the only time I've ever had a comment about my bass sound (other than from a fellow bass player) at a gig during the last 4 or 5 years was when using this cab at a pub gig at the end of last year! Weight-wise, it's nearer to 70 lbs to be honest, and the casters add extra weight too, but they make it so easy to move around, it's worth it! [b]Full disclosure:[/b] There is a bit of history to this cab, so in the interests of full disclosure, I'm going to again quote from Kev's thread last year: [i]"Before going any further, a few things you need to know about this cab. I obtained this cabinet empty after a fellow basschatter received an exchange 'box' from Schroeder due to there being a small 'crack' in the bottom of the baffle. I have left this untouched and re-speakered (if that is a word) the cab with genuine Eminence Delta speakers (2 x Delta 10, 350w, 8 ohm, and 1 x Delta 12, 400w, 16 ohm) to give a combined 1100w at 8 ohm. The cab has the original Schroeder crossover and tweeter fitted and this has an attenuator on the back panel. This has been my 'small rig' cab for the last 3 years and has been gigged regularly, although it is in very good condition save for a few scratches to the plastic corner pieces. It is currently fitted with castors but can be supplied with the original rubber feet if you prefer. This is one of the original American series cabs that has the 12" driver mounted on the angled baffle."[/i] Since I acquired the cab last year and especially after it made it's 300+ miles journey to me via DX Couriers, I was very keen to check the cab over and did notice some buzzing... So, in order to address that issue, I was very fortunate to be able to enlist the help of [b]chimike[/b] (who's a bit of an engineering whizz to be honest) and with Mike's help the cab was fully checked over to ensure that all the drivers were functioning as they should, and that all joints, baffles etc, were checked and filled with resin to ensure that there were no problems, rattles, or buzzing with this cab. And I'm happy to say, since that work's been done, everything's working perfectly, and there's no buzzing.. So all is as it should be! And lastly, this cab will be at the West Sussex Mini-Bash on Sunday, should anyone local want to come and try it out.. Hi Folks I've had a few questions about where Clymping Village Hall is exactly, because if you Google the postcode, it takes you to a local primary school, which won't be much use on the day.. [b]Directions:[/b] The Village Hall is situated just off the north side of the A259, about a mile and a half from Littlehampton BR station and about a mile from Ford BR station. [*]If you are heading to it from Bognor in the west, then you will need to turn left off the A259. [*]And if you are coming from Ford Station or Arundel in the North, then you will be traveling south on Church Lane from Arundel. Follow Church Lane until it meets the A259; turn left at the roundabout and it's approx. 50 yards up on the left (2nd turning). Hi Folks, It's rapidly approaching that time of year again when we'd like you to dust off your shiny new (& old) basses, your ever smaller, lighter, louder amps & cabs plus all your weird / geeky bass FX, and bring them all down to the.. [b]South East Bass Bash No.8[/b] Last year's SE Bash was a really fantastic day, with some fabulous guest speakers and about 80 Basschatters attending, so It goes without saying that we'd like to see if we can better that this year!! So, please do sign up, come along on the day with all your gear, make a lot of noise, meet some fellow Basschatters and have a brilliant time helping us to raise a few [b]£££s[/b] for good causes! Hi Folks Been incredibly busy for the last week or two, so haven't got round to updating this list but, as we're getting close now, I'm hoping to get a more specific idea of numbers as I've been trying to decide what would be a fair [b]door price[/b] for this so that we can: (i) cover the hall hire costs,and (ii) raise a few quid for a good cause What do you think, is [b]£10[/b] fair? It's what we charge at the South East Bash every year... Hall hire is about £20 per hour, so the total cost will be about £100. The idea being that people can suggest some favourite basslines and Jake will deconstruct them.. Here's the idea: [i]"let people make suggestions on the spot as to what they think is a great bassline and I could listen, learn, reproduce and dismantle for analysis in front of their eyes. Could perhaps do 2 or 3, classics from funk, rock, pop maybe?"[/i] And if anyone else fancies doing a short talk about a particular interest of theirs, then please let me know - bass-related topics of course! Lastly, if anyone's interested, I've also got some old Peavey 1x15 cabs which are loaded with Altec Lansing drivers and I'd be quite happy to bring those down as they sound great to me..... Nik -
Just bought two 12" JBL cabs with Eminence drivers from Stevie and can't thank him enough for his help throughout! Completely brilliant deal, great comms and he even packed them up and shipped them out to me just before going on his holiday.. Stevie is an absolute top bloke to deal with and I can't recommend him highly enough to one and all here on Basschat! Thanks Stevie
