Great to see Alex is coming along too! This is going to be so unfeasibly awesome it'll set the standard for all future SE Bashes! So who's going to bring a few of those instruments with a shorter neck and six puny strings tuned in a silly way? We'll need them for the jam room...
+1 on both Great to see Mr Claber will be in the house ! And yes, we need to have geetar stuff covered for the jam room! -

Hi Folks We have to move the times of the 2 workshops in the Foyer slightly, as follows: Foyer: 15.20 - 15.50 'Making the transition to double bass & what you need to start gigging' - Clarky 15.55 - 16.30 'Basic to advanced technique workshop Q&A' - Urb It's just that Urb needs to get away sharpish at 4.30pm.. Thanks Nik -
Will definitely be there as for once I'm not playing on the same night. Not sure that there is much I can add to the fantastic range of gear that is coming, but look forward to meeting everyone. Does Bernie Goodfellow go to these? Jeff
He came to the 2nd South East Bass bash in Guildford IIRC... Did a great presentation of his basses and all the EBS gear - he's a very good bass player as it happens! -
Certainly setting the bar high for anything following this...looks good. Did you schedule any time for chatting and drinking Tea??
Thanks Mick! Though we're following your recent very excellent Herts Bass Bash's example I have to say. . No, we won't have time for things like chatting, tea etc.. nor looking at gear and playing bass either! -
FS: SQUIER VMJ 5 STRING BASS - SOLD ON EBAY
silverfoxnik replied to PURPOLARIS's topic in Basses For Sale
Very rainy indeed! Just thought I'd chip in and say that, at the time I sold this, the bass was playing and sounding pretty good and I know that Will's done some more setting up on it since then, so it should be really singing now! With flats on it, it has a very nice tone to it and when i used it in a 4-piece acoustic/folk setting, it sounded great.. It was just a shame the band folded otherwise I'd have kept the bass. Will's a real gent and a pleasure to deal with too, so whoever buys this will be well looked after. GLWTS -

Boss OC3 For Sale *** NOW SOLD *** Thanks for looking! Hi Folks [s]For sale I have a Boss OC3 which is a great little foot-pedal that gives you a choice of polyphonic octaves, plus an overdrive.[/s] The OC3 is in good condition and work perfectly. Here are a couple of web-links about it: Boss OC3 Polyphonic Octave Pedal http://www.gak.co.uk...CFU3LtAodxnwAWA I'm happy to accept PayPal or Bank Transfer as payment for it. As I've said and I'm sure the YouTube clip shows, it's a great little pedal, but I've also got a Boss ME50-B which does almost the same thing, so I'm going to concentrate on making more use of that.. Any questions, please feel free to PM me or ask here. Thanks for looking, Nik

Okay Folks, here's the list of prizes that we have had donated so far.. I know there's more that people have said they'll donate on the day, so I can't list them here yet. But if you have anything you'd like to donate, please add it to the lists below.. Ideally, we're looking for 5 or 6 main Raffle prizes and as many as we can get for the Tombola.. so please give generously (as they say). Thanks Raffle Prizes 01. Please could one of the Mods pin this up for us? Thanks...

Hi Folks Having listened to people's comments on the main SE Bash thread, we've decided this year that we're going to have a two-tier system: 1. A Raffle - with a higher ticket price for a smaller number of prizes, each of a higher value 2. A Tombola - with a smaller ticket price for a larger number of prizes, each of a lesser value We're thinking that the main Raffle with be £5 for a strip of tickets, and that the Tombola will be £1 for a strip of tickets. How does that sound? We think this will help address people's concerns and also help us to raise a bit more for good causes.. In my next post, I'll list out what the prizes are that we've got so far. Having said that, we're still happy to receive any donations that you may wish to make, either by bringing them on the day or by pledging them to us via PM (and then we'll work out a way to get them). Thanks in advance as ever... Nik

Hi Folks, Here's the running order for the various workshops/Q&A sessions/presentations/demos at the Bash next Saturday. We're very fortunate to have some fantastic people coming along next Saturday, each with their own unique contribution to make to the day's proceedings, as I'm sure you'll agree - including of course, our very own Clarky and Urb in the Foyer who'll be providing some fantastic tips and insights about technique, double bass etc. In the Theatre, we have a mixture of demos, presentations, talks and Q&A sessions which will cover some really interesting new gear, insights from inspiring Bassists and a chance to find out more about our favourite UK Bass magazine! It goes without saying (but we'll say it anyway) that we're really grateful to everyone for generously donating their time and energy to support this event... Theatre: 11.30 - 11.45 'Bass FX & Midi for the 21st Century Bassist' - Demo by Bryn Wildish, Markbass, aka UrbanKarma 12.15 - 13.00 'The Baby Bass' - Presentation and talk by Kris Kedzior, Founder, Baby Bass 13.15 - 14.00 'Q & A session with Paul Geary and Dave Swift', professional Bassists/writers/recording artistes 14.30 - 15.15 'Bass Guitar Magazine Q & A Session' with Joel McIver, Editor, BGM Foyer: 15.30 - 16.00 'Making the transition to double bass & what you need to start gigging' - Clarky 16.15 - 16.45 'Basic to advanced technique workshop Q&A' - Urb Should you want some more information about any of the above in advance of next week, here's some useful links for you: http://www.markbass....tail.php?id=238 http://baby-bass.com/ http://www.paulgeary.com/ http://www.daveswiftbass.com/ http://www.bassguita...ag/joel-mciver/ http://www.joelmciver.co.uk/site.html It is still possible that timings may change on the day, so please bear with us! Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you next Saturday... Nik -
