  1. Very sad news indeed. πŸ˜” RIP Keith
  2. Wow - really sorry to hear about your accident and the struggle to heal afterwards, @Clarky! Sending you some positive vibes for the sale and for your recovery.. πŸ™ GLWTS πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
  3. Spice Girls... Mel B??
  4. Thanks. πŸ‘ But I've still got absolutely no idea, Chris.... πŸ˜‚ Being the old git that I am, I don't know any pop music released after 1982.....
  5. That's fantastic - and all credit to the guy busking for seizing the moment!
  6. Brilliant πŸ‘πŸ˜Š Which well know singer was it Chris?
  7. Beautiful looking P Bass! I had one of these some years ago and it was a joy to play and sounded great. No doubt that this one will be too... GLWTS 😊
  8. Awesome! πŸ‘πŸ˜Š Same thing happened to some friends of mine in a band called KXB (from West Sussex) some years ago... They were playing 'Gay Bar' at one of their regular local Saturday night gigs, and Tyler Spencer, aka Richard Valentine, Electric 6's lead vocalist got up from the crowd and joined them on stage!
  9. Very sad news indeed, and I echo all the comments made so for - John was such a creative and musical bass player... I saw him performing with Kate Bush in London in 2014 - his work with Omar Hakim on those 'Before The Dawn' shows was truly, truly exceptional. RIP. πŸ˜”
  10. Just sold a Bass Collection P Bass to @Ralf1e.. It was a very easy transaction from start to finish and Ralfe is a really nice person to deal with and chat with and he's definitely a credit to this Forum. So, I'm more than happy to recommend him to everyone here on Basschat. Thanks Ralfe - it was a pleasure to meet you today and I really hope you enjoy the bass! πŸ‘πŸ˜Š Nik
  11. πŸ‘ Time to start planning about a mini Beds/Bucks/Cambs Bass Bash methinks....
  12. Well said @Rayman... And all the best for a full recovery @NickD πŸ™
  13. Amen to that! @Rayman Playing bass, playing music with other people and being around creative people keeps me sane, lifts my spirits and keeps me young (in my head and heart)... This place helps quite a bit too... πŸ‘
  14. Same problem here.. 'My bass cup doth overfloweth'.. Or words to that effect.. πŸ˜‚
  15. Saturday morning BUMP for this beauty! 😊 No takers, no offers, no trade offers even ?? πŸ€” Clearly, I have offended the Bass Gods and they have put a curse on my basses, and their descendants, for all eternity... 😁 Have a good weekend Folks!
  16. I don't know about Chris McBride @bubinga5, but Man, that Drummer!! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ I don't play music like that, nor can I play bass like that, but I do like George Duke and his music... It's always had a good, positive vibe about it. And isn't it great that audiences enjoy and respect great musicianship and that there's the space for musicians to be able to express themselves so freely ? But, going back to your original point, I agree with you about the use of vibrato by some fretless bass players - used too much and it tends to overshadow everything else good in the bass part... For want of a better analogy, a bit like overseasoning a simple meal with really good ingredients.. But I think in some genres of music, it's actually expected to be there as part of the sound - like slap bass in certain types of funk music - and this is one of those genres.
  17. +1 Beautiful colour and such a cool retro vibe.... GLWTS
  18. Wednesday morning BUMP, with a slight price drop to Β£250 or very near offer.
  19. It's always a pleasure dealing with @gary mac. Apart from doing yet another great set up job on 2 of my basses last week, Gary did both jobs really quickly for me as I needed them for a recording session. For any North London, Herts, Essex Basschatters looking to have some work done on their basses or guitars, look no further than Gary! Thanks again Gary.... πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
