1. Thanks Guys - much appreciate it!
2. Never tried the Goliath, but I also use an SWR Triad which is a wonderful sounding cab...
3. Hi Folks Last night, I finally got to try out at a reheasal, the SWR 212 I bought of Moos3h just after Christmas and I'm absolutely amazed at how good it is! It totally handles the low B on my Roscoe Beck V and it has a really full, rounded sound with no obvious weakenesses... I tried it with my Markass LMT 500 and also, my old Peavey Mk IV head and in both cases, it was excellent.. I tend to prefer a more vintage tone so not sure how it would be with more demanding highs, but for me, it was a real surprise.. Any other 212 fans out there? Nik
4. +1 Just sold a Boss FT2 pedal and it was the same; 'smoother than a smooth thing'.. Thanks James!
5. Thanks Jack ! It was a great way to spend a couple of hours.. And yes, it has been a bit too long inbetween sales.. You've virtually got a different in-house Bass Shop now... Hope you're still enjoying the pre-amp! Nik
6. FREE BUMP ..Really good cab this; Mike very kindly let me use it for a couple of rehearsals and it's amazing the amount of low-end this cab puts out! Good luck with the sale..
7. Just sold a Boss TU2 pedal to Jerry who made everything really easy in terms of payment, communicatione etc, so am really happy to recommend him to one and all here at BC Towers... Thanks Jerry!
8. Thanks Jerry! Appreciate the feedback and will leave similar positive feedback on your thread.. Nik
9. I had the pleasure of playing this bass at the weekend; it's very light & comfortable and tonally very versatile...quite a surprising package! Good luck with the sale Jack..
10. Nice clip! I've always preferred the sound of the Pro Models to the Custom models, but it's 'horses for courses' etc... Having said that, Happy Jack's two Custom Wals are amazing sounding basses!
11.
Great choice WoT! SiverFoxNik's RB V's are among the best sounding basses I've heard and imagine the IV must be similar
Thank you kind sir! Happy New Year by the way... I only have one now which is the 2nd one I bought from Happy Jack in 2010; it is, as they say, 'a keeper'! I moved on the other one with an active circuit because I think (as has been said here), the original passive circuit is superb and doesn't need any embellishment... Congrats WoT - that's a lovely looking instrument !
12. the short answer is 'no'.. The electronics in the old Pro models are very different to the Custom models to which you're referring.. though having said that, Wal basses do have a 'sound' that is quite distictive and IMO, can be heard in both the Pro Models and the Customs. However, the Custom models have a much more versatile e.q. system.. Hope that helps?
13.
Great bass at an amazing price. Quality on Sandbergs are first class.
+1
14. +1 Played this a number of times and it's a really good one! Good luck with the sale..
15. Quick update to say that the Boss FT2 and TU2 pedals are now sold also..
16. Thanks Nick - Happy new year to you too! Update to say that the Boss FT2 and TU2 pedals are now sold also..
17. Just had the pleasure of meeting James again to buy his SWR 212.. Averaging about 1 deal every 2 years now As ever, it was a really easy deal and James was very good to deal with and the gear is always exactly as described! Thanks James - guess I'll see you again sometime in 2014 mate!
18. Just sold my Hughes & Kettenr Crunch Master to Jack for some £s and a fine cup of tea.. My 3rd visit to Happy Jack towers now I believe, and each one a pleasure; thanks as ever Jack.. When Ped and Kiwi started Basschat, they probably didn't realise the potential it's potential for bringing like-minded people together and helping to create a real sense of community amongst bass players.. But IMHO, that really is one of it's greatest strengths! And it's people like Jack who help make it happen.. Cheers Nik
19. Sorry! Just to say that from the amps section, the Ampeg and H&K crunch master are now sold..
20. Quick update to say that these items have now been sold: H&K Crunchmaster Yamaha TRB5 Fostex MR-8 Ampeg 3550
