1. I've no doubt it would Pete, so that could be a way to go.. The PA option would be less hassle and i have discussed that already with the other guys in the band.. But I'm about to start rehearsals with another band in the New Year and they only have a vocal PA, hence why I'm looking at being completely self-contained on this..
2. Pete - that's a good question!!! And I'm not sure of the answer yet, to be honest... Though I hope to find out as I try more things out.. Such as, getting the speaker placement and the frequency split right etc, as Oli mentions above..
3.
Yeah he's a beast ;D We're playing at the Albert in Brighton on the 22nd if you're about? http://www.thedopplershift.co.uk/gigs/
Cool; will try to make that and as it's not a weekend, that should be easier...
4. Thanks Ian Brilliant..I love the sheer outrageousness of that rig !!! Did you have an Edie Stobbart account for shifting it around.... Hmm?? I have considered whether a 212 guitar combo might do the trick actually but was worried about whether one would have enough power..but if the frequencies are split as Oli and you say, then maybe that could work? Roll on the weekend when I can try some of this stuff out at volume
5. Thanks again folks.. My Hughes & Kettner Bassbase 600 has a blend control on the FX loop and I tried that but don't think it works as well as two seperate rigs.. More interestingly, the H&K also has a high pass control on the back which is variable, so i'll try that out at the weekend..
6.
Just buy a Rickenbacker, Nik. Two outputs = two rigs. Alternatively, have your bass (one of the Roscoe Becks, I assume) re-wired to give you two outputs.
Funny enough Jack, my first real bass was a Rickenbacker with stereo 'rick-o-sound'... Yes, my main bass is still the Roscoe Beck V I got from you and it's doing me proud; absolutely lovely bass.. Thanks for the suggestions folks; i particularly like the idea of using the Boss Tuner to provide two outputs - very ingeneous indeed! The Little Dual pedal looks great but it's not cheap, so I may look for an alternative first..like the Boss Tuner. The cancellation issue does concern me Oli, so i'm wondering about getting that side of things right the most.. Nik
7. Hi Folks, Has anyone got any experience of how best to use 2 rigs at the same time? I want to use my H&K head & SWR cab for my pure bass sound and another, slightly smaller rig just to handle FX sounds. What could the potential problems be other than money (obviously) and having to carry around so much gear? I'm thinking in terms of how to drive two rigs - would I need something like a Boss LS2 - and also, problems with having similar or different speakers in the 2 rigs, speaker placement etc, etc.. In my head, it all sounds great but I'm sure it's not that easy... Is it?? Thanks Nik
8. This is working really well now and I'm very happy with it so far! I have another question for anyone out there who uses a lot of effects.. Is it better to have a two rig set-up? That is;

one rig that handes just your pure bass sound,
and another rig that handles just the sound of your FX
I've tried it out at home and at rehearsal and though it was cumbersome having to lug two lots of gear around and set it all up, the sound was so much better with the 2 seperates rigs.. When i tried it with my bass sound and the fx sound both going through just my H&K head and the SWR Triad, it just wasn't as good.. So, has anyone else out there done the same as this, or am i the only one stupid enough to even consider it? Nik
9.
Cool! Any more for any more??
BUMP
10. BUMP Must be some more local Basschatters interested in a pre-Xmas get together ??
11. Thanks Si, that's a great help.. It was hearing your ME-50 at the Bash in September that made me consider getting one, and because we're about to lose our keyboard player, it became even more of interest to me.. Not had much chance to play with it yet but i really like what I've heard so far! Nik
12. Hi Folks I've just bought one of these Boss units from here and it is really good.. However, it doesn't have a PSU or a manual with it so I was wondering if anyone knew: (i) where i could get a manual from? (ii) whether or not I can use my 9v DC power brick with it? I already run 2 boss pedals off my power brick anyway, so i was hoping that would do the trick? Thanks in advance for the help.. Nik
13.
Someone with the full res video get me screencaps, totally gone off the point here. SilverfoxNick: Did you sell it to Smee?
PM'd you...
14. It's definitely genuine.. When i bought that bass at the Bass Centre in Wapping back in 1994, it was the best bass in the whole shop by a mile (well to my ears anyway).. Cost me then £450.. The extra bridge pick up is a Bill Laurence (or is it Lawrence?) and as Lorne will confirm, they are just superb! If I didn't already have a BC Riche Eagle that I'm totally happy with (though admittedly, it's not one quite so unique), I would have bid for that yesterday, though i did watch the auction.
15. That was my old bass - a real corker!
16.
Hi Nik, would have been up for this but I'm in Essex that weekend
That's a shame Russ - would have been good to see you! by the way, I met your drummer recently - he's an amazing player!
