  1. And here's a picture of said bass in action last night.. I felt quite emotional playing it to be honest.
  2. I'm really sad to hear this news about Nigel.. I'd heard he wasn't well from @Chimikea couple of months ago, but nevertheless, this is a surprise. Nigel was an absolute gent who I bought a lovely, 1980s G&L SB1 from 3 years ago.. So I'm going to use it at my gig tonight in memory of him! RIP Nigel ๐Ÿ˜”
  3. Hey Chris, Thanks for the kind words! ๐Ÿ‘ Well, it'd be great to see you, but I realise it's a long way for you to travel. If you do though, the beers are on me - I must owe you about a million of them as it is... ๐Ÿ˜
  4. Hello fellow Basschatters, Just a quick message to say that for any of you who are based in London, my band - Harmonic Swamp - is playing at The Dublin Castle in Camden Town, London this coming Friday, 21st April. We're on stage around 9.15pm. Here's some info about the gig: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0waNbkDmY8KYJpx8rBD77wTAMUrrGAk8zPTVm1sxr4ZX6RRsQKaYtd32sYPMnwC65l&id=167859290629456 And some info about the band with some video clips: https://www.facebook.com/harmonicswamp https://instagram.com/harmonicswamp?igshid=ODM2MWFjZDg= If we sound like your thing, you're free and able to come down, it'd great to see you! Cheers Nik
  5. OK, in the hope that it helps spark some more interest in this lovely P Bass, here are three very rough & ready mp3s of the bass in action, to give you a flavour of what it can sound like. These have been put through a Zoom B1X Trace Elliot amp sim, and recorded into Logic 9 via an M-Audio interface. I've added a bit of compression and a tad of 2.5 kh eq to compensate for the strings being a few months old. Please excuse the scrappy playing and the basic sound engineering.. It is Sunday morning after all! ๐Ÿ˜ Any questions, please ask... Squier CV P Bass Test Motown Style.mp3 Squier CV P Bass Test I Wish Finger Style.mp3 Squier CV P Bass Test Pick Style.mp3
  6. Morning All, Having bought something else, I really do need to move this on now... So, new price is ยฃ350. Happy to throw in a decent gig big for an extra ยฃ15, or the Thomann Tweed case for an extra ยฃ35. Also, I will consider shipping this as long as it's fully insured. Any questions, please send me a message or ask away here. Thanks for looking... Nik
  7. You did, some very nice ones too, Mick including that fabulous Veillette-Citron if I'm not mistaken?
  8. This used to be mine for about 5 years, and before that, it belonged to @TheGreek. It was always a really comfortable bass to play and it sounded pretty good too. Not as aggressive sounding as some P Basses, but a really nice, usable tone. I imagine that it's considerably better in every respect now, given the very sensible upgrades you've done @Paolo85... And I still think that the mirrored scratchplate and tone knobs look cool... ๐Ÿ˜ So, taking all of that into account, at this price, I'd say someone's going to get an absolute bargain here! GLWTS ๐Ÿ˜Š
  9. That looks really nice... GLWTS
  10. Now SOLD Hi Folks, Up for sale is my Squier Classic Vibe 70s P Bass, which comes fully set up and has the benefit of being upgraded with Fender Original P Bass pick ups, so it really does sound good! I'm looking for ยฃSOLD for the bass, which I think is reasonable given the bass would cost ยฃ360 new and the pick ups about ยฃ90. These pick ups really do sound good to my ears - the sound is exactly what you'd expect from a P Bass, full, throaty and with lots of attack and presence. As can be seen in the photos, it's in almost new condition and since I bought it at the start of the year, I've only used it for a few rehearsals. It really does look great IMO, and it plays really nicely, though obviously that's a very personal thing; I tend towards a medium-high action, but everything is working as it should so it won't be difficult to adjust it to your preference. Strings are D'Addario nickels, 0.45-105s. Tech spec available here : https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Squier-Classic-Vibe-70s-Precision-Bass-MN-Black/2ZY8?origin=product-ads&gclid=CjwKCAjw586hBhBrEiwAQYEnHRTWaVK89KjNTbFZeJsRUT8GRn3klFdxvsV2QmafhsYUukpXGem7rBoCazIQAvD_BwE I'll post up the weight later... The only reason I'm selling is because there's something else I really want, and as this was last in, it's a case of first out... No trades please. I'm based in Potton, Bedfordshire and would much prefer to sell the bass to someone who's able to collect in person. As an aternative, I'd be happy to arrange a meet up in person within an hours drive from me.. Having had too many negative courier issues over the years with bass , I'm not comfortable with posting this but would consider it if absolutely necessary. I have a lovely Thomann tweed case that I could throw in as extra for ยฃ50 which would make it safer to ship. Trials welcome by arrangement with your amp of choice! Thanks for looking and if you have any questions, please send me a message via PM or ask away here. Cheers Nik
  11. Just bought a Mooer Radar pedal from @mcnach, aka Jose. Great comms, item exactly as described and a pleasure to deal with Jose throughout. Highly recommended! Thanks Jose ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š
  12. Thanks @Lozz196 I'm interested in buying this and am in Hemel Hempstead on Saturday 8th and 12th April... Would collection be possible? Cheers Nik
  13. Hi Lozz, What brand is it and do you have any pictures? Thanks Nik
  14. Fabulous looking and very rare bass; you really don't see these for sale too often! I remember trying one out at the Bass Centre in Wapping years ago. Along with early Overwaters, Pangbournes, JDs, Mansons and Wals, these were part of a flourishing wave of boutique British built basses at the time. Anyway, I'll stop reminiscing now and just wish you the best of luck with your sale.
  15. Great looking bass! And a fab looking rig too... GLWTS
  16. Hi Folks Just had the pleasure of meeting up with @Pranaagain, only this time, Peter bought an amp from me, namely my Handbox R400. Everything went smoothly just like the last deal we did, and the music /basses/bass gear conversation was just as enjoyable as the first time around. Hope you enjoy the amp Peter, and here's to the next time! ๐Ÿ˜ Nik
  17. Just noticed that this is a proper 2- channel amp - how cool is that! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  18. The CTM-100 is a great amp, and if I'm not mistaken, this one was built in the UK, which probably makes it even better. I imagine the combination of the CTM-100 with this particular 410 is pretty epic sounding too! GLWTS
  19. I'm really enjoying it! Some of the lead actor's performances are really good... I think the original tunes are OK too. A few cheesy moments so far, but it's difficult to portray musical inspiration and chemistry well in a drama. And what's not to like about a TV show that's about music? The choice of a Patti Smith song as the show's theme song was a surprise, but it's a great song! Looking forward to e.4 already...
  20. I definitely don't, Chris! Much as it'd be great to see you and revisit Clackett Lane etc, etc, buying another amp would be a potential major health risk for me here at home.. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ It's a rare, high quality amp you're selling, so no doubt it'll find a good new home soon. GLWTS ๐Ÿ˜Š
