2. Am feeling a little controversial, but does anyone care? I'm tempted to say that JK & his muzak is soul-less, funk-less, pointless production-line rubbish... But that would be an insult to music that is genuinely soul-less, funk-less, pointless production-line rubbish.. And that's with or without Zender IMO.
 3. Just watched it.. What talent and an ability to communicate they both have. To be able to write songs and perform them like that is an absolute gift..
 4.
Just to mention that this is a SERIOUSLY nice bass, arguably the nicest single Fender I have ever played. I only sold it to Nik because it weighs 10.5 lbs which is just enough to set off my back. I should add that £825 is a very low price. The bass alone is easily worth that (IMHO), so when you add the Aggie ...
Thanks for the very positive comments Jack! It is as you say, a seriously good bass.. Only reason I decided to out this one up for sale instead of the passive one, is that I figured this one - with the excellent mods already done to it - presents a more attractive option (in what is a very competetive marketplace for quality 5 string basses at the moment)! The passive one weighs in quite a lot less, probably coming in at under 9.5 lbs and that too is a fantastic bass! I still think that, for all round tonal flexibility, the RBVs are Fender's best 5 string bass ever.. Nik
 5. SOLD pending the usual.. Hi Folks In time-honoured Basschat tradition, there's something else I'm after on here, so I have decided to sell one of my two Roscoe Beck five string basses to fund it.. It's a 1997 model and is in very good condition.. I bought it from Happy Jack last summer and it's been my main gigging bass ever since then but, I have just acquired a liking for basses with a 2-octave neck..so I've decided to keep the passive RBV and move this one on.. In the picture below, the one for sale is the one on the right and you can see that it's control layout has been modified to accomodate an Aguilar OBP3 pre-amp which adds a huge amount of tonal flexibility to what is already a very clever design, with the coil-taps on both pick-ups! I have put two black control knobs on the volume and mid control pots, but i do still have the original chrome ones which can be put back on if so required.. The other mods are a pearloid scratchplate and an extra string tree which adds to the string tension on the E & B strings. I am happy to ship the bass but would always prefer someone to try out the bass first and take it with them (if they like it), if at all possible. I will try and put some better pictures up tonight. Any questions, please PM me and thanks for looking. Nik
 6.
You have both my sympathy, and my admiration in taking this decision Andy, hope all goes well.
+1 This place is amazing sometimes; this thread is absolute proof of that! Good luck with it all Andy! Hope you stay involved on Basschat, even if all these very lovely basses go (for now)..
 7.
I thought Everything Everything were great too - but am surprised no one has mentioned great bit of bass playing (and quirky moves too) by the bloke with Delta Spirit . . . busy but old-school blue-eyed funky at the same time . . .
Ah..so that's who they are! Yes - totally agree with you.
 8.
Best ad in ages
+1 I'd love one of these too... Sadly, there are too many obstacles in the way that would allow me to be able to buy it right now... Good luck with the sale, Chris!

 12.
Just watched them and must admit the new song's a bit bland, loved the re-worked Deeper underground though. I was saying to my wife that so much stuff's been done before that it's all a bit samey. Then Everything Everything came on and it was fresh , different and exiting. I'm listening to the album "Man alive" on spotify as I type. Reminds me of a cross between It Bites and Thomas Dolby............ Really rather good
+2 on 'Everything Everything' Great bass player and band with Jamiroquai, but I thought it was very souless as music..heightened only by the musicianship of his band. KT Tunstall was quite good and so was Ray Lamontagne.. and there was a really fresh sounding band (American i think) who had a great bass player; played with a pick but it was really melodic and unihibited!
 13.
Can we add MikeyR to the list as well? He'll be bringing my multiscale if it's finished, and prob his Shuker P and maybe the multiscale proto if he can carry it all
Will do Mert! It's been a busy week or so but I'll update everything this evening..Think I've got a drummer sorted for the Jam Room as well which will be good too... Nik
 14.
Great cab. I'd buy it right now if I wasn't in another country.
+1 I'd buy right now, if I didn't already have one! IMO, it's such an excellent sounding cab that I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything as good for this price! Good luck with the sale...
 15. On the way to a gig a couple of years ago, I went to pick up our singer Pete so we could car share as it was quite a way to the gig.. Pete always brings the two powered monitors with him to gigs and that was going to be a bit of a challenge, fitting them and Pete in my car on top of all my gear! So I knocked on the door and Pete handed me the first monitor whilst he went to say goodbye to his wife and kids and grab his jacket etc.. So, mindful of being quick and getting on our way, I put the monitor in my hand in through the side door onto the back seat and then went to get the other one from inside the house.. Before doing that though, I locked the car just to be on the safe side as it had all my gear in it, including my basses. So I grabbed the other monitor and thought to myself that I'd try and put it in the boot...which I duly opened up with my keys...And sure enough, there was just about enough room for the monitor, after moving all the other gear around a bit. As I heard the satisfying thud of the boot closing and was feeling smug with myself for managing to get all the gear in the car, I realised that I'd locked my keys in the boot which now wouldn't open because the all the doors were still locked! BY the time Pete finally comes out of the house, it's to the sight of me cursing and trying not to lose it completely!! Anyway, after about quarter an hour of failed attempts to break in to my own car, we ended up taking the his wife's car to the gig, stopping off at our guitarist's house to borrow a bass from his studio and then racing to the gig, just in time to quickly plug me directly into the PA and then start the gig.. Fortunately, the gig was great, the AA came and very easily sorted out the problem and retrieved my keys for me and I didn't end up feeling quite such a tw*t after all! But it could have been so much worse...
 16. Absolutely stunning!! Good luck with the sale...
 17.
B*lls!! Really wanted to come to this but have to atend a cousin's wedding....
That's a real shame!! But if you'd care to send any or indeed, all of your basses as your representatives on the day, then I can assure you we will look after them very carefully for you
 18. Gorgeous looking bass! I haven't anything to trade personally, but I would have thought you might find some takers for such a nice looking instrument! Good luck with it..
 19.
I know I say exactly the same thing every time John Giblin gets mentioned, but his playing on "Babooshka" has got to be my favourite bass part ever. Pure class. What a superb player. Kate's a f***ing genius too.
+2 One of my all time favourite artists..and she has always had great musicians with her..Great bass playing on these by the way!
