Thank you Gents!! You have both hit the nail on the head....whereas I normally can't! Having said that, the Homemade Rack Cases site looks brilliant Andy.. I now have my reading for the evening!

Hi Folks I'd really like to use the amp part of my Eden Metro combo with another speaker from time to time, i.e. as a stand alone amp, which would mean taking it out of the purpose built housing it's in and finding some kind of custom made case for it. Trouble is, it's not a standard 19" rack size' it's almost 21" wide and 3" high so I can't put it into any standard off the shelf rack that I know of. So I wondered if anyone had encountered a problem like this before and if so, are there any solutions out there that you can buy or do you have to build your own case?? Thanks in advance for the help, Nik
To my ears ................. a much warmer ,fatter sound but without losing the usual well articulated definition of edens. also much lighter than the 4 X 10 xlt PHEW!!!
That's got to be good then!! Shame I haven't got any rehearsals over you way at the moment, otherwise I'd have an excuse to pop in for a quick listen.. And just to say Jon is a great guy to deal with, so for anyone interested in this cab, rest assured that you'll be well looked after and that Jon's bass gear is always top quality!!

Kurca recently bought my Ashdown LG1000 and was great to deal with! All went smoothly and the whole thing was livened up by Kurca's great sense of humour and excellent communications throughout! Thanks Kurca - hope you enjoy using the amp!
Just completed an easy transaction with Andre to take the Peavey fretless off his hands - and prove once again to myself why I shouldn't play f/less (I've had to promise the band not to take it to gigs just yet at least ) A really nice guy to do business with.
+1 About Andre i mean, Al..not your f/less playing!

Hi Folks Just bought a Hughes & Kettner Bassmaster BATT pre-amp from Gilles.. Am happy to say that everything went like clock-work; the pre-amp arrived in good time, perfectly packaged up for overseas shipping and with the valves taken out and carefully wrapped up inside another box for extra safety. Communications were 100% all the way and what's more, the BATT is absolutely amazing!!! Couldn't be happier Thanks Gilles!
Excellent price - somebody should snap this up. Even the less expensive Alembics exhibit stunning build quality (and sound a bit impressive too!)
+1 My thoughts exactly.. It's times like this that make me wish I could play fretless! Good luck with it btw; this has got to be one of the best deals on Basschat at the moment.
Hi Marvin, sorry for the delay, only just noticed this... I usually say that i will try to hook up with long distance folk when I have a gig their way but I don't get down your way too often, although I gave Silverfoxnik a lesson recently and he is convinced it could be done with Skype so I will look into that and let you know the results and see if you think that would suit. Jake
It'd definitely work Jake; there's loads of online bass lessons on Youtube which people use quite well as a learning tool.. By using Skype that idea could be improved upon massively because it'll be interactive.. Maybe not suitable for all students, but for some it could work very well I think. -
Classic Ibanez - '74 to '85 As there are a lot of Classic Ibanez out there, I thought I would start a section for all Ibanez Basses made between 1974 to 1985, or thereabouts? I'll kick off with a couple. First up is something you don't see very often and took me ages to find one. Great "Piano-Like" tones and surprisingly easy to get on with. Fire away!!
Gorgeous! I played one of these at the National Bass Bash in Northampton a couple of years ago and it was fabulous.. Great sound, fun to play - much easier than I thought actually..! Good to see one here..

what tune/band that got you into bass ?
silverfoxnik replied to phil.i.stein's topic in General Discussion
Lots of bass players have influenced me over the years but without question, it was Trevor Bolder (bassist with David Bowie's 'Spiders from Mars') and Dennis Dunaway (Alice Cooper) that got me started as a bass player... Bolder's playing was the more traditional; locking in with the drums, playing the lines, supporting the song with just a few flourishes here and there. Whereas Dunaway's playing was much more to the fore, very melodic and often being the strongest hookline in the song. I love the fact that bass can be really supportive in a group situation and also, that it can completely lead the way! -
