If the song has a very recognisable bassline then of course, we replicate that. But in many instances, we are making sure that the song works within the context of our band.. We always have respect for a well-known song but also want to let the individual abilities of the band shine through whenever possible. For example, we would never normally do 'Sweet Home Alabama' as we're not really a Rock/Blues type covers band.. But we decided to try it as we imagined U2 would do it..so that's what we did and it works great! We also do 'Tainted Love' but decided to mix the Marilyn Manson version and the Pussycat Dolls version; again, great fun to play around with and it always goes down really well at gigs. For me it's perfect because we get to play lots of cool songs and can throw in some creativity as well..

Some very good advice here Wayne and I think your work is really distinct and eye-catching, so there'd probably be plenty of takers.. Only thing I'd say is that you will seriously need to consider the health & safety implications for you if you started to do a lot more of this work. As I understand it, you'll need to ensure that you protect your lungs from all the extra dust particles, paints and other potential harmful materials used in the process.. The long-term impact if you don't is not good! Best of luck with it

Not that you don't mind.... That was an amazing gig.. Amongst many others I remember that Hillage was on the bill and Kiki Dee IIRC? Queen were absolutely amazing that night! Ok, I know it's off-topic but the Hillage story is that he was producing a band called 'Yes Lets' and they were using Studio 1 at this rehearsal room for all their pre-production. Hillage had ALL his gear in there and the room was jam-packed. It was booked for 3 weeks straight and my band was due in the following Monday to start rehearsals for going on tour in Europe. So, we all walk in with our gear first thing on the Monday morning and guess what - he's still in there with all his bloody gear! So he and I had a huge screaming match.. The people who owned the studio and the indie label we were signed to, had to intervene and calm everything down.. We didn't get in there for 2 more days and our rehearsals for the tour were completely screwed up! As a result, Mr Hillage has never been on my Xmas Card list as I'm sure you can imagine. Talented barsteward though...
