Don't know about custom basses, but custom beards and carrots - there's a subject worthy of debate!!
Quite right too! Maybe next time I'll show you what I mean, get a bunch of pedals and a couple of decent rack comps and cop the pedals with the rack comps. Then show how much more useful a rack comp is, blah blah blah. Ending with my usual rantasm about the stupid pedals (apologies one and all!). Then again maybe not!
Great! That's one workshop sorted for next year!!

Hi Mark Welcome! Good to see more members on here from Sussex! When you say cheap set-up, do you mean you are thinking of changing your Rumble for something else? Nik

Cheers Guys! Will investigate...
Hey Walman, good to meet you. The protector on the back of all of my basses is called a ScratchPad. I wrote these up in a thread on the forum http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...5&hl=Clarky They are available from Thomann or, most cheaply, on eBay (best search string is ScratchPad guitar protector, I think)
Hi Clarky That's really useful to know.. Happy Jack has some of these too IIRC.. Also, where do you get those super sexy chrome strings from and do they do 5 string sets do you think? Nik

Rob I can't believe you're doing this.. You mean to say that winning the Hartke Bass Attack pedal on Saturday wasn't enough to cure your GAS for you? Nik

Last ones... A spellbound audience, transfixed by ped's Workshop..or were they transfixed by how amazing the V-Bass is! This gives a good indication of the size of the Theatre... Plux The Raffle Table at the beginning of the day My Eden combo and basses (what an untidy mess!!).. And a lovely Gibson as well. Silddx & Oli in The jamming Room.. Silddx and his Warwick fretless looking very retro I thought.. By the way, I do have some of Jakesbass doing his workshop but they're on a different camera so I'll try and upload those tomorrow.

Hi Matt Of course... If I recall correctly it was: 1st Prize - Hartke A100s Combo went to Pete Young 2nd Prize - Hartke Bass Attack Pedal went to Shockwave 3rd Prize - went to Merton and he chose the 'Standing in the Shadows of Motown' book that was donated by Clarky After that, it was a bit of a blur to be honest! A big thanks to everyone on the Forum who donated stuff for the raffle and also to Gareth at Hartke/Korg! Another bit of good news is that, as I understand it from ped, Bass Guitar Magazine have donated some annual subscriptions that we are going to be able to offer to try to bring the overall amount raised up to as close to £500 as we can.. Not sure how many we have yet but we are going to offer them out at £15 each.. As soon as we get more news, we'll announce it. Cheers Nik Nik
PM'd Still for sale....
I've played this bass and it is a monster!! Great neck, lots of tonal variety and a killer B string! Slightly too long for me now, having got used to 34" scale 5 string basses again but otherwise.... And Jazz is very cool to deal with as well.. Good luck with the sale!
For Silverfoxnik: Here is a Youtube link with Tom Araya of Slayer playing the same model as your ultra-beefy BC Rich! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGTumTl9NfA
Thanks Clarky! That's a BC Rich but a different model.. same p/up config though.. Wow - what a brilliant day! Took a load of photos so will post them up tomorrow.. Personal highlights on the gear front were: Jake's Alembic Clarky's Shuker P-bass Silddx's 2 Warwicks Boo's short-scale Sx Jazz ped's V-Bass But there were loads of other great basses and rigs too! Got to say thanks to Jake, Alex, Ped & Roger for their brilliant workshops.. Happy Jack for the idea for the Quiet Room which he really put a lot of thought and effort into all day.. And similarly, his idea for the Jamming Room which Paul the drummer (who was brilliant!) sorted out for us totally. Also, Oli who did drums for ped's V-Bass workshop! Must also thank Hamster & Mrs Hamster for arranging the venue which was great, and the refreshments.. And WalMan, Johnny and Merton for taking care of loads of things, including the Raffle! And though he wasn't able to make it today, a big thanks to OBBM who helped out a lot behind the scenes.. Dave; it was great but it would have been even better if you were there!!

Not long now...
Nic, Do you still want a passive 5 - I could bring my G&L2500. Or I might just bring my BB800, to make you realise what a mistake you made :-) Best, Pete
Hi Pete That'd be great; thought the L2500s were active though? And yes - bring the Yammie!! Nik
there was lots of interest in the set up master class earlier in this thread. Is this scheduled to happen?
Sorry - not now..
My littl'un is still ill and my missus is going to need some time off looking after him this weekend. Sorry to let you guys down. Hope you have a great Bass Bash! Remember to take plenty of photos and videos!
Sorry to hear that and I hope he gets better soon! My son is not well either.. There's loads of bugs around at the moment it seems. We'll definitely take loads of photos etc and post them up when we get back!
Hi Folks, I wanted to be able to let Graham Wheeler know how many people were interested in having a set up done at the Bash tomorrow. So, out of courtesy to Graham, if you are interested in having a set-up done on the day please add you name to this list below, so I can let him know if he's needed... thanks? Silverfoxnik 02. 03. 04. 05. 06. 07. 08. 09. 10.
Hi Folks With not enough takers for set-ups, I've cancelled Graham coming up tomorrow which is a bit of a shame. I didn't think it would be fair for him to trek all the way up there (which for him is about a 100 mile round trip) just to do 1 or 2 set-ups at most.. As reference for next time, are set-ups on the day of a Bash not of much interest then? Nik

The Hartke combo was delivered today via UPS!! Haven't opened the box yet to check it or anything but the combo, along with everything else, makes for some great Raffle prizes this year..
Phew! In my opinion, nicer (even) than your 1965 Precision as it looks like it has been played and enjoyed. You have one hell of a bass collection!
+1 And welcome to Basschat! You might just end up with the nickname around here of the 'Bass Pornmeister'!
