  1. Ah, that's a long story ... Let's just say a need to be nearer family, and the move being enabled by being able work from home.. so I no longer needed to be tied to an office in West Sussex. It's one of the strange benefits to have come out of the pandemic..
  2. Now SOLD Hi Folks What's that brilliant quote from the film Airplane by Lloyd Bridges - "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking"...? 😁 Well, amidst the worsening economic crisis for decades, I have similarly - and stupidly - decided to pick this week to start having a bit of a gear clear out! First up, is this Squier P Bass that I bought about 5 years ago here on Basschat from @The Greek I'm looking for £SOLD or near offer.. It's a 'Crafted in China' model, circa 2008. Features include: * Wilkinson pick-ups. * Upgraded Mirrored scratchplate (to help you unleash your inner Phil Lynott) * Upgraded Vol/Tone control knobs. It plays pretty well, has a surprisingly good P Bass tone to it, and, IMO, looks the part too! Neck is straight and the truss rod works as it should, so it will be easy to set up the action on this bass to your own liking. And, despite being stock, the tuners hold the tuning pretty well.. I've gigged with it and in the right setting, it more than holds its own sonically... Would make a great starter bass, or be more than adequate as back-up bass. As can be seen in the photos below, it's been well used, and has the mojo to show for it. Try out welcome and collection preferred from Potton, near Sandy in Bedfordshire, but postage is possible at buyers expense and risk. Please note that I don't have a case for this, but I would ensure that it is very well packaged up for shipping. Any questions, please ask here or please send me a PM. Thanks for looking! 😊 Nik
  3. Great post @LukeFRC, and a great looking vintage Ibanez too! Am just wondering why you're selling it after putting in such a lot of effort to restore it so well?
  4. Sorry @Beedster - am late to the party as per usual.. 😁 Couldn't agree more about the RBV being one of Fender's greatest designs. IMHO, these basses ooze quality, sound amazing with just about every setting the circuitry is capable of, and what's more, they are so comfortable to play because of the asymmetric neck profile. A candy apple red one in similar condition just sold on Facebook marketplace for a similar price, so this is in the right ball park, price wise, for sure. GLWTS
  5. Just bought a Marantz microphone from Sean who understandably, has great feedback here on Basschat. Really easy transaction and the mic is great! Thanks Sean 👍😊
  6. Hi Folks I'm very pleased to start a feedback thread here for Peter, aka @Prana, who bought my Xotic 5 string from me at the weekend. As well as buying the Xotic in what was a really easy transaction, Peter also brought up a couple of his super Jazz 5ers to show me, which was a real treat, as they were two makes I'd not had the chance to play before (Bass Mods and Sivcak). Even better than just doing a deal was having the opportunity to have a pre-Covid style, proper 'bass chat' for over 2 hours with Peter which was an absolute pleasure. All of which confirmed the fact that Peter is a great guy to deal, a fine, fine player, and someone who really knows his stuff when it comes to basses and music! So, highly recommended to one and all here on Basschat... Thanks Peter - really hope you enjoy the Xotic and thanks again for the chat ! Nik
  7. Just bought a Sire bass from @andybassdoyle, who was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Typical Basschat motorway sevices meet up to ensure the deal got done, which it did in uber-quick time. As has been stated many times already in this thread, Andy's a great guy to deal with - excellent comms, knows his gear and very fair to deal with. All in all, highly recommended! Thanks Andy - I'm really looking forward to using the bass... 👍😊 Nik
  8. +1 And GLWTS (not that you need it I hope, as G&L basses from that era really are superb!)
  9. Hi @KingPrawn Interested in the Marantz mic please.. I'll PM you... Cheers Nik
  10. Wow - what a beautiful colour! Great bass, great seller too! GLWTS
  11. +1 It's a sad indictment of the times.. 😕 An absolute bargain for the right person though... GLWTS
  12. Hello Mike - hope you are well! 😊 Back on topic... Beautiful bass, Brian - GLWTS.. 👍
  13. Great amp, great seller and absolute Basschat legend.... And if that weren't enough, how is this still even here at this price - I am seriously baffled?? GLWTS Col...
  14. Knowing how good the Handbox R400 head I have is, I cant believe that there hasn't even been one single comment about this amp in over 3 weeks since it was first listed?? I've used mine for rehearsals and gigs where it's performed perfectly - great sound, super loud and very easy and light to carry around.. The real surprise though has been using it for a recording project for the last 6 months, and I have to say, the preamp sound and the DI on it have made such a difference ! Having said all of that, this bigger, more flexible version looks like an absolute killer to me and if I didn't already have too many amps, I'd be seriously interested in this one... Anyway, GLWTS 😊
  15. +1 At the moment, I am lucky enough to have a Big Block 750 and a Walkabout combo in the house, and they are two fantastic sounding pieces of kit! They sound similar, definitely from the same sonic family if you like, but they are subtley different. I think that this M-Pulse 360 is probably closer to the Walkabout tonally than the Big Block, which means it will be that much warmer and rounder sounding. Punchy and as loud as anything too and the eq is lovely.. This is an absolute bargain price IMHO! GLWTS
  16. Fabulous! As far as 4 string basses go, these really are as good as it gets, IMHO.. GLWTS
  17. Just sold an old Gherson Fretless bass to Brian who's going to turn it from a bit of an ugly duckling, into a beautiful white Swan... Got to say that it's been a pleasure dealing with @briansbrewwho I would highly recommend to all here on Basschat.. Many thanks for such an friendly and smooth transaction Brian and I really hope you enjoy the bass! 😊 Nik
  18. What a beautiful looking bass! 😊 GLWTS
