1.
Cheers. It's definitely something different, I'll try and get some more photos up soon. The credit really has to go to Bassassin for finding this though, it just happened to be near enough to me to collect. I don't know how long I'll hold on to it, hopefully they'll be a bass bash to bring it to soon - it's well worth a look.
That'd be good.. Look forward to it when there's a Bash and if you still have it (which hopefully you will)...
 2. Hi, Is this the original 700 RB model as opposed to the 700 RBII that came in later and if so, any idea how old it is? Thanks... Nik
 3. Very cool looking pair of basses!
 4. That looks fantastic! Congratulations on picking up something a little different from the usual....

 6.
Man, I cant even imagine spending 4k on a bass.... imagine hitting it against something in a gig.... you are planing on giggin it, right? Just how much can a bass improve over £800. From your list of gear you are probably fairly aware on what all those basses do and don't do for you, so just try as many instruments as you can without looking at the price tag and get the one that fulfills your requirements.... who knows, maybe it is an old battered squire and you will have about £3800 to spare.
That's like the story about Geddy Lee... His favourite bass, in amongst the hundreds he has, is a $200 J-bass that he bought in a pawn shop somewhere in the States.. And apparently, he even tried to knock the dealer down on price for that!
 7. Can't believe this hasn't sold yet, especially at what is an absolute bargain price for a quality bass!! Good luck with the sale...
 8.
The colour on the Bacchus is really cool. Nice pair indeed.
+1

 10.
Still not a good enough reason to keep the "Jamster" on the forum.
Agreed!
 11. With a rig and bases like that, plus your other half looking like she does, you should be banned from this site immediately!
 12. Wow! These are rare as hen's teeth! Beautiful looking instrument too.. Good luck with the sale
 13.
Welcome Wow that is a beauty.. Peter
+1
 14. It's probably true that almost all producers and engineers will compress a bass signal when recording it or when mixing it, so if it makes sense to use compression then, why not at at other times too...?
 15. Beautiful example and, if you haven't done so already, I would recommend posting it up on the Walbassesnaturally forum on Yahoo Groups as well. Am happy to do that for you if like? Good luck with the sale!
 16.
I think you're probably in the majority. There's definitely a fatter sound to be had by raising the action.
+1
 17.
Absolutely gorgeous (and different) - the craftspersonship looks breathtaking!
+1
 18. If you can find one, the DBX MC6 is an absolutely brilliant unit but it's neither a footpedal or a rack unit..
 19.
Hello! I need an all round bass for recording which does rock, nu metal all the way down to gentler indie/ folkie stuff - maybe this is too much to ask for but what do people think would be better out of the Yamaha BB415 and the Warwick Rockbass Corvette for these purposes? Many thanks in advance
They're very different basses having played them both and owned the BB615 (active version of 415).. In particular, the neck width and string spacing is very different, so I think you would need to take those things into account when making a decision of this sort.. Personally, I prefered the Yamaha but that's because of the wider neck and string spacing. You might try them out and feel the exact opposite, but that's what makes this so subjective, as we all have very different tastes.. Good luck with it!
 20. That's a really interesting looking bass! I like the mix of modern styling with the retro look of the woods....
 21.
So I'm getting a 6-string fretless and this one is up on the block. Created by Rick Turner who is one of the great innovators of electric bass, this bass has an amazingly huge piezo sound and very versatile magnetic pickups. Very playable and imo one of the most underrated basses in the industry. The list price is over 2400 pounds, though. In light of the market and the fact that I've found something I would like to buy (in addition to the fretless six) I'm asking 680 pounds shipped to UK. The bass is in Finland, and is available for noodling around for those who happen to be around here somewhere. The bass is in near mint condition, the only wear on it is shown on the pic - there's some extremely light scuffing on the back of the bass.
That's a very cool looking bass! Good luck with the sale...
 22.
Beautiful! Too bad I just came back from London with a Mach 11. Good luck with the sale on this marvelous bass!
+1 Glad to see you got back safely Mike!
