1. This was sold ages ago IIRC..
 2. Great set-up! Must post some pics of mine...
 3. Just bought some strings from Marc and am happy to echo what''s been said already! Great bloke to deal with.. Thanks Nik
 4. Love the look of your Musicmaster... I played one years ago and it was great!
 5.
I'm not interested in choosing between them. Two great players, both Jamerson and Kaye. It's not either one or the other. Stupid question - it's like being in primary school.
+3
 6.
Do they though? Yes there are some talented bassists about who can do loads of clever and difficult stuff, but ultimately everybody else with a bass is busy getting busy with a band, and there's no place for any of that. So has the role of the instrument been advanced at all through their innovation? Clearly a lot of bassists pay a lot of attention to people like Manring, Wooten, Marcus Miller, Jean Baudin, etc. but if nobody but bass players are listening to them, and bass players generally can't incorporate any of that stuff into what they do (which seems to be the case) then is all this boundary-testing ultimately a bit futile? Can we conclude that, while it's interesting for the individual involved at the time and other Bass Anoraks, it's pretty irrelevant for anybody else?
Yes!
 7.
I tried it out... and bought it Thank you all for your advice, it's a great amp!
That's great! Enjoy...
 8. Gorgeous looking thing! Always fancied a Ken Smith 5 string myself.. Look forward to hearing what you think of it after it arrives?
 9.
One of the best amp ever made, regardless of price. I kind of miss mine!! D.
I'm still enjoying it Derek, as it happens... As Spartacus has already said, it's tonally very flexible, with the semi-parametric e.q really handy for making very quick tonal adjustments as it allows you to cut/boost anywhere from 40hz to 10khz! The enhance control allows you to dial in a very good 'scooped mids' tone which is instantly very pleasing to the ears, but IMO, takes too much away from the natural 'bite' in the sound that this amp has. The Edge control does provide a very useful valve simulation, which I like to use as it dirties up the sound of the amp, but in a good way. Some of the other features are very handy too; the mute button, DI out with adjustable level, gain boost which is great if you have basses that have very diffferent output levels ( which mine do) and the footswitch comes in handy too. Another great feature is that it will run comfortably at 2 ohms and give you the full 650 watts, which is terrific for someone like me who has two 4ohm cabs. The only crticism I have is that the NA 650 has a well-documented design flaw in that is not completely silent; it has a slight hum which can be quite annoying when using the amp at low volume levels.. I took it to my amp repairer and he tried to remedy it with some extra sheilding, but it didn't work at all! Otherwise - a great amp!
That is beautiful though i cant decide whether im more enviable of the bass or that it seems to have being completed on time, you are indeed a lucky man
+1 And indeed the fact that the bass is in part, a present from Mrs Clarky... How lucky can a man get? Gorgeous looking bass and one to keep for sure!
 13.
That's one seriously good looking and sounding bass. Good clip too, showing nice tones for finger and slap styles. Tasty! Cheers, Steve
+1 Great bass and very impressive & enjoyable clip, thanks!
 14.
Another bargain! I can't even think about buying it though which is a chame as that Chorus as well the the borad EQ would be very useful...And the crossover too! Someone defo look into this, it's a steal man!
+1 I've used this particular amp before and it's unbelievably good value for the money!
 15. Brilliant looking combination!!
 16. Nice to see another of my old basses for sale again (that's two today)!! Anyway, this very nice vintage 'Ray look was created by the Beedster and the John East pre was built to his spec too, so it's quite a unique bass. My memory of it is that it had a lot of tonal variety thanks to the sweepable mid e.q. and it was light and comfortable to play.. One other good thing was that for a 34" scale bass, the B string is really excellent on this, as it is on a lot of Stingrays.. Oh, and I sold it on because I wanted a passive 5 string, otherwise I would have kept it. Gave me a bit of nostalgia seeing it just now I must admit and it has had a few BC owners who may well feel the same; Beedster, me, WalMan, JoJo Bass (I think) etc, etc.. So it's done the rounds, but don't let that put you off..It's a good bass! Good luck with the sale; certainly a lot of bass for the money! P.S. that's a very lovely looking garden...
 17. Afraid I can't add any more knowledge on the origins of this bass - I got it from The Butler 2 years ago IIRC (though there is a thread about it somewhere I think). All I can say is that is was pretty decent then but now, with all these mods, this is the bargain of the year!! Wouldn't mind it back myself but I'm still involved in getting my rig right really... Anyway, just to say good luck with the sale!
 18.
^^^^^^ Yes, totally agree. Beautiful sunburst P - perfect with the maple board!
+1
 19. The Goodfellow is a fantastic looking bass and, having played one quite similar, I know that they sound amazing!
 20. Very nice indeed!!
 21.
Plus I don't think Mark Stoermer from The Killers has been mentioned yet.
+1 Good call!
 22. Very interesting looking bass - good luck with the sale!
 23.
I only buy it to hide my copy of Huge Juggs ( a celebrated journal of note ) which also contains pictures of t*ts BB
Not all bass players are boring!
 24. Good price for this as a complete rig and £40 for the cab is a real bargain! Love the look of that SWR 2x12 by the way....
 25.
Sold to Silverfoxnik!
Cheers Colin! Good to see you again and look forward to seeing you at the next SE Bash, which hopefully with be in the autumn.. Nik
