1. That's a real bargain Peter! Some great reviews for the amp here on Harmony Central: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...-500H+Head/10/1 Good luck with the sale...
  2.
I never thought i'd say these words, but I like the 6 string single-cut. Nice pair.
+1
  3. Just watched the Victor Wooten stuff on Bass Player TV and, even though I'm not a fan of his per se, his talk/masterclass was absolutely brilliant! That guy really has a unique approach to life...
  4.
BTW, the pics are good but for great pics you really need to borrow one of Lysdexia's guitar stands!
They should sell those guitar stands everywhere! Back on topic, great looking bass Russ.. Good luck with the sale!
  5. Amazing collection Steve! Just love that '78 Ray and the 2 Celinders.. Wouldn't like to be your roadie though if you were going on a long tour!

    My Wal
Got a 1979 Pro1e recently.. was fitted with a Wal custom neck at some point, very nice. The serial number is not listed in the Wal notebook along with 3 others of the same period... some kind of custom order or something Apparently Pete Stevens wanted to buy it back from the previous owner...! Anyway, mine goes up to 11... do all the Pro1's do this? Edit: Pardon my ignorance!
Yes - they all went up to 11! Wal & Pete were way ahead of the game in the trivial rock 'n' roll humour stakes...
  7. That's a very sexy collection of basses! Congratulations....
  8. I carry a Zoom B2 1.u which has a DI out as my 'back-up'.. Fortunately, I've had no need of it so far but you never know!
  9.
Very interesting - And what a musician! I like the idea of the masking tape across the strings near the bridge. Very akin to Victor Wooten's hair band at the top of the neck. Rich.
+1 Great tone and technique and she really has done it! There's so much common sense in what she's saying there.. reminded me of when I saw Herbie Flowers last year and he was talking about his life and his work.. Thanks for the link...
  10. The MM 5 looks fantastic - lots of mojo as phsycoandy said!
  11. Very nice collection.. How do they sound?
  12.
Bad news I'm afraid, with the Seymour Duncan the devaluing is immense. I'll give you £20 for the bass and take the original pup off your hands for a fiver. Can't be fairer than that. In seriousness. I'd say over 2K, definately, and pics would be nice.
Wow - that much! And yes, pics would be nice...
  13.
Of course, somewhat, this is beauty in the eye of the owner, but there are enough performances and recordings out there to substantiate Wal Basses true value as great instruments.
+1
  14.
Just - wow. I wouldn't know what to do with all them strings - but they're just stunning. Jon.
+1 Beautiful work....
  15.
Prince is underrated as a bass player...
+1
  16.
REally really nice, good luck and a good price for a classic like this one.
+1
  17. Heard one of these amps in action for the first time last night and it sounded fantastic!! This is a great price and I just can't believe it hasn't been sold yet... So, good luck with it and have a free BUMP!
  18. I think G&L are pretty well known. FWIW, I suspect that it might be something to do with the fact that the Tribute series L2500 seem to sell for about £350-400 second-hand but are deemed to be almost as good as the USA models...
  19. Yes - a real bargain at under £1000 as has been said. It looks so good too and has features to die for.. Best of luck with the sale!
  20.
Nice Bass.............
+1 very distinctive...
  21. Nice collection Rob, but what happened to the Yamaha BB bass you got from Greenking/Peter?
  22.
Small world! Yup. played the blue Pro2e (in fact recorded with it as my MM Sabre developed an earth hum that day), still his main bass for live work. He's also got a fretless Pro2e in natural ash which I keep trying to buy off him! I'll check that wedding night story....
Small world indeed!! BTW, if you speak to him soon, please tell him that Nik from Winchmore Hill send his regards! If he tells you the wedding night story, you should then ask him to tell you the boiled eggs story. Another classic! Sorry for going off-topic...
  23.
Always preferrred the earlier Tubeway Army stuff as being stronger songs - Jo the waiter, Me I disconnect from you, etc Andy Coghlan ("Wal") used to play bass for him too, now runs a studio a couple of miles from me doing mainly acoustic and Welsh language recordings - top guy and top bassist.
+1 Andy's an old mate of mine from his North London days.. He has a beautiful pale Blue Wal Pro2e that he once lent me to tour with about 20 years ago.. He tells a great 'wedding night' story about that bass which, if you haven't heard it, you should ask him to tell you! Brilliant bloke and a great player as you say, though I haven't spoken to him for about 3 years now.
  24.
I think I need to take some happy pills before going on - I look miserable
I'm the same.. Always joking around before and after a gig, but as miserable as sin looking when playing...
