Limited as it is though, it's a useful tool to have around and is good for timing, listening to drum patterns, grooves etc and for a bit of fun when doing scales, exercises etc gets too boring...

He did some work recently on one of Tony's Valley Arts guitars and was calling Tony to ask about wiring issues! So, maybe talking to some of the Basschat resident experts, or to find someone else locally might be the best way to go? Or try someone like Paul Herman at Chandlers Guitar Experience in Kingston or Martin Petersen and Co at The Gallery, though I'm sure someone on the forum will know someone for you that is more local to you? I used to have a hard case for my Hartke HA3500 and it looked after it really well, but it became a bit of a pain to lug around to be honest.. So, I sold the hardcase on and I now have a rackbag for my GK 700RB and I'm pretty happy with it.. I do a lot of gigs but carry my own gear around, so I make sure it doesn't get thrown around. A 6U hard case full of gear will get very heavy, but if you're touring, then it'd be worth it. Otherwise, you'll probably be fine with the rackbag..

Seriously, it'd be great to see you if you can but there'll always be another Bass Bash in September or next spring..However, you only have one wedding day (unless you're related to the Liz Taylor, Liza Minelli side of the species) , so you've got to make it the best it can be.. Hi Folks, As it's only a month away, I think it's probably time to think ahead and book a minibus for next month's bash.. That's if there's enough interest from fellow Basschat members down here on the south coast, of course???? As I said before, through some work colleagues, I can hire a bus here in Littlehampton that will seat up to 10 people and have room for a whole load of gear as well! Cost is either £55 per day plus fuel or, it's £0.80 per mile all in.. As it's approx 130 miles from the south coast to Northampton, I figure with detours to pick up and drop people off, maybe the total mileage would be around 300 miles for the whole day.. By that reckoning, it'd be best to pay £55 bus hire and put the petrol in ourselves?? There's no deposit to pay and I'm happy to do all the driving if necessary..though that can be shared too. If there's not enough interest, then no problem, I'll take the car and my carbon footprint be dammed etc, etc!! But thinking practically I would have thought this idea makes much more sense and offers all sorts of opportunities for a thoroughly childish and silly 'Bad News Tour' style adventure! You obviously don't miss a trick, sir! Well, the DJ5 is now the proud possession of Basschat's WishICouldWalk and in return, I have his USA Fender Jazz v Deluxe, with EBS pre-amp. Must admit, I'm more than happy with the Jazz 5, especially since Bernie Goodfellow put the original pick ups back in it for me! It also came with a spare neck which I'm going to defret so I can indulge my fretless fantasy one day As for the RBV, that bass feels like I've had it for years it's so comfortable to play and I just love the sound of it and the tonal variations you can get with the coil taps; quite similar to your G&L in fact.. It's wearing a Gotoh bridge that has a Fender 'badge' on it, done especially for the RBV range apparently, and it's a really chunky piece of kit.. When I got the bass, the saddle for the B string wasn't working and needed replacing..Amazingly, owen (who is a true gent) sent me a replacement so it's good as new now! BTW, are you going to the Bass Bash next month Nick? Nik
