  1. Beautiful looking bass, @Merton! A real credit to the talents of @Cosmicrain... Can't believe you're selling it tbh, especially as it looks so cool (on you) in the photos.. 😁 Anyway, best of luck with the sale! 👍😊
  2. Heft, indeed, Chris ! 😁 I have the 15" version of this combo and agree with everything you've said about the Walkabout combos, @essexbasscat. IMHO, there's something very special about them due, I think, to the combination of the valve pre + mosfets in the amp, paired with the uber-clever cab design with it's downward firing passive speaker... Whatever it is, it's a glorious combination of sound! GLWTS (not that you'll need it..) 👍😊
  3. +1 Have a BUMP on me @Bass Wielder Like @tobiewharton, I'm equally staggered that this hasn't sold yet. The upgrades are worth the asking price alone! A sign of the times, I guess, but for anyone needing a quality 5er at a very decent price, this bass is just about perfect... GLWTS 🙏
  4. I had the 5 string version of this model about 15 years ago, bought direct from Bernie Goodfellow.. I can still remember him fitting the Aguilar pre in it and setting it up for me. It had a great sound - very Marcus Miller in some respects, but it was good for lots of different styles of music. IIRC, I only sold it to upgrade to a Fender Roscoe Beck V. This looks like an absolute bargain to me btw, and Jay's a great person to deal with! GLWTS 👍😊
  5. Hi Folks, It's my pleasure to start a feedback thread here for Jack, aka @jackfromnpt, who drove all the way from Wales to West London yesterday, to buy my Fender Classic 50s P Bass. The deal took a while to come together as Jack had to sell a bass first, and then we had to work through all the logistics (as I wasn't keen on posting), but we got there in the end I'm pleased to say. Throughout, Jack's comms were excellent and he was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. All in all, it was a very easy and pleasant transaction. Suffice to say that you can deal with Jack in complete confidence Folks, and I'm more than happy to recommend him to one and all here on the Forum! As we met at my workplace, there wasn't really much time for us to sit and have the customary Basschat chat about all things bass, which was a real shame... But I've no doubt that, if we had of done, we'd have had a great conversation. Having said that though, even in that very short space of time, I think we managed to cram in a few interesting topics - basses, Interpol's biggest ever gig in Mexico, photography and cameras, The Mumbles, etc, etc.. 😁 So, thanks again Jack; it was great to meet you and I really do hope you enjoy the bass! 👍 Cheers Nik
  6. That's an outrageous amount of money... Yours is much cooler anyway, Nick and a bargain at a quarter of the price too!
  7. Sounds great, Nick! Both the bass and your playing. 👍 That's a beautiful example of a classic BB, and to answer @Ashborygirl's question, I would say that you'd have to start around £2,500 and work upwards. GLWTS 😊
  8. Double P basses are the way to go... That looks great! GLWTS 👍
  9. Wow, Russ, Big decision and what a trio! They look amazing... Best of luck with the sale. 👍😊
  10. What's that old saying...? 'Too cool for skool'. This is just that... GLWTS 👍
  11. +1 Yep - great playing! Lovely, rich tone to the bass... GLWTS
  12. There was a time a few years back when 5 string basses of this quality, with a John East pre fitted, were about £250 more than the current asking price and they sold within a few days, or a week at best if being listed. Strange times indeed... 🤔 GLWTS 👍
  13. Hi Folks, Just bought a speakon to speakon cable from Mike. The cable's perfect, Mike's comms are excellent and this deal couldn't have been smoother (and easier) . Highly recommended! Deal with in confidence... Thanks Mike and here's to the next one! 👍😊 Cheers Nik
  14. Hello @Acebassmusic Do you have one of the 1.5 metre length, speakon to speakon cables available please? Many thanks, Nik
  15. What an awesome looking rig! Fab backstory too... Best of luck with the sale. 👍😊
  16. +1 What a fantastic, courageous and inspiring project @Cat Burrito! Sincere 👏👏👏 to all involved. As @Wotcher2 said so eloquently, your film is a beautiful testament to the fierce love of the music we have when growing up, which inspired us to start playing instruments and starting our own bands. Really, loved it - thank you! And the other thing I really love about your film, is the connection it draws so strongly between goth music and folk music - that's really powerful! (I hope that makes sense btw..) Anyway, thanks for sharing.. It's a really great piece of work! 👍😊
  17. Great story @northstreet - and one many of us on here can relate to.... My golden jubilee will be next year and now you've mentioned it, it's made me think about how I'd like to celebrate it...?? 🤔 Meanwhile, whilst pondering that, I just wanted to comment on the three musicians you've mentioned as your inspiration, Macca, Entwistle and Stevie Wonder - what an incredible trio they are...! Personally, I love Macca and Entwistle's bass playing and they rightly get a lot of praise (and someimes flak) for it.. But in some ways, I have even more admiration for Stevie Wonder, who IMHO, is one of the best bass players, and best bassline composers, of the last 50+ years or so.... His run of albums in the 1970s was just astonishing and are full of incredible basslines... Anyway, just to say I hope you enjoy your next few gigging years, and thanks for sharing your story !
  18. Sounds great - looks 'cool as' too! 😎 Congrats!
  19. Oh my goodness - I've only just heard this news about Nick. Like many others here , I had absolutely no idea about his battle with cancer, which yet again, has taken one of the good ones far too soon. I am truly shocked and saddened... Despite never buying and selling basses from each other, I had plenty of comms with Nick over the last 18 years or so, which were always a pleasure... He was a gentleman through and through and his kindness was only marginally secondary to his love of music and basses, I'd say. Sending my sincere condolences to his wife and family. RIP Nick - you are, already, very much missed! 😥
  20. That's totally cool, Steve... We're all entitled to like what we like, play how we like and not like, etc, etc.. IMHO, we're lucky there's so much great music and great players to enjoy and be inspired by.
  21. What a stunning looking bass! 😊 GLWTS... 👍
