  1. Good thread this.... Especially for divorce lawyers searching for evidence! πŸ‘€πŸ˜ So "Your Honour", my roll call of iniquity is as follows: Trace Elliot AH200 (already moved on) Mesa Boogie Titan V12 Ashdown CTM100 Ampeg BXE 115HL G&L SB1 The Trace was a cracking amp and I was sorry to see it go, along with the Hartke HA5500 that I sold during lockdown as well.. Both great amps but I'm really enjoying the V12 and CTM100, so have no complaints there at all really.. 😊 Strange as it's been not having any gigs, I've been lucky enough to be able use all of my new gear for an album recording project I'm doing and that's been going really well and the gear has been perfect for it. Also been doing a lot of songwriting on Garageband with my main band too and that's been a lot of fun. . So much so that I don't think gigging will be the 'be all and end all' that's its been for me as an amateur musician this last 15 years. Songwriting and recording are definitely here to stay for me thanks to lockdown 1.0 giving me the completely unexpected opportunity to rediscover that creative spark again.. 'Small mercies' and 'silver linings' etc, etc. Got to say that the G&L has been getting a lot of use... It really is a powerful and punchy sounding bass!! I've also had the pleasure of having @Paul S 's Sprackenbacker on loan for the recording project and thats an absolutely brilliant bass (thank you Paul πŸ™)! Rediscovering that Ric itch after 40 years has been a joy.. What can I say? It's been a mad 9 months, it really has!!
  2. DD is one of my favourite bass players so it's great to see this tribute to him that fabulous Jazz he had back in the AC days... πŸ‘πŸ˜Š GLWTS
  3. I think the one I had cost me eighty quid on Fleabay.. It was a great sounding bass for the money! File under 'Cool basses I should never have sold!' πŸ™„πŸ€¦πŸ˜
  4. Great job @Reggaebass I had one of those basses years ago and I really liked it a lot.. Very comfortable to play and had a good sound too. Hope you're enjoying it 😊
  5. Great stuff @Pinball πŸ‘πŸ˜Š Liked both tunes, and your voice and lyrics work really well with the arrangements.. The mixes sound fine to me too, but like all these things 'beauty is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder'.
  6. Well remembered @owen! 😊 I don't think I have any of those parts left but I'll have a look tomorrow just in case...
  7. Yep saw that - absolutely shocking! In this country, musicians have been - and still very much are - treated as 2nd class citizens! It was like this 40 years ago when I first started playing in a band, and it's still the same now despite British music and musicians being amongst the best and most important and influential in the world.
  8. Only just seen this thread and my only contribution to it is to say that, although I've liked some (not all) of The Smiths music, I've always had a loathing for everything that Morrissey has presented to the world as his 'The Man as serious artiste' persona... In recent years, the slow, unpeeling of his fake public persona has finally revealed the nasty, hate filled human being that he truly is. His reputation in the music business was always bad, and now his reputation as a public figure is on par with it. 😐
  9. Gorgeous.. Having owned a late 80s/early 90s Tobias Classic 5 string, I have no doubt at all that this will be a similarly brilliant bass! GLWTS 😊
  10. I had one of these for a while and it was ridiculously loud... It also sounded great too! 😊 The other thing is that these Amps will still be around long after WW3, along with cockroaches and Peavey gear.. 😁
  11. Gorgeous colour, and these 80s Tokais are just fabulous! This is a very fair price for such a quality instrument.. I had one of a very similar age and colour which I traded with the @Beedster back in 2007.. Still miss that bass... my therapist tells me I'll get over it (one day). 😁 Anyway, GLWTS πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
  12. Wow - that's a cool looking bass! 😊 Great to see the vintage Dynacord combo in the pics too... πŸ‘ GLWTS
  13. +1 As @Beedster said, sorry you have to sell, as clearly, it's a special bass for you.. Great band, great version of the song though.. πŸ‘ Makes me just want to get out there and start gigging again in order to make a righteous, joyous noise (with lots of bass)! 😁 Nice playing too btw.. GLWTS
  14. Does it come with a gig bag and a maple board? πŸ˜‰
  15. That's an absolute corker Paul, congrats! Enjoy the bass! Got to say, this line from your post made me chuckle out loud .. πŸ˜‚ "I've kissed a lot of frogs but reckon this is a Prince among basses. " Nik
  16. Great photos @ash.. I don't even need / want another bass, but your photos are very compelling.. GLWTS
  17. Not me @andytoad.. I still have an SWR Triad though and it's a great sounding cab, which I'm sure theis Henry 8x8 is! 😊
  18. Wow!! 😲 This is a ginormous bargain, in every sense of the phrase! πŸ€”πŸ€” Nope, I can't see it fitting into either my Peugeot convertible or Mrs Silverfoxnik's CitroΓ«n C1..? But it's going to make someone very happy, that's for sure. Just not me on this occasion. GLWTS πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
