  1. There's so much of concern in this post, it's almost impossible to know where to start..? Psychoanalytically speaking, 'GAS' as a descriptor for a far gone state of mind doesn't even come close! This is where it all ends people - this is what the dark corners of a Basschat fuelled, bass-addicted, bass players mind looks like. This is the view from our windows.. 😁 Back on topic.. Lovely bass, tons of mojo Chris.. You have extraordinary taste in vintage basses! GLWTS or trade... 😊
  2. Great news Dan! Well deserved and a good move all round.. BGM definitely needs DOOD-ing up IMHO.. 😊
  3. BUMP! Price dropped to £550 o.n.o. for this classic and vintage Ibanez bass.
  4. P. S. Very melodic playing @ambient - a very refreshing change from the usual bass demos..
  5. Cool bass, nice playing, great tone! GLWTS
  6. Had the pleasure of playing one of these recently, though I'm not a 6 string player and have no aspirations to be one... Having said that, the inherent tone of the bass, it's playability and build quality were so exceptional I could hear the GAS demon in my head saying that I should take up 6 string bass... ! 😁 Not that I'm going to do that of course, but I just wanted to offer up that little tale as evidence of what absolutely brilliant instruments these basses are. GLWTS
  7. Great thread! 😊 Amazing collection of basses and amps and what a brilliant space that is @cd_david! Lovely example of what the Basschat community is all about...
  8. Sold an EHX Micro Q-Tron to Steve in what was a very straight forward, pleasant transaction.. Steve says its the first pedal he's ever bought in his bass playing career so I hope that he likes it!! Anyway, just to say that Steve is a great bloke and a valued member of the Basschat community so deal with him in absolute confidence. Thanks Steve; looking forward to hearing your Bootsy Collins style bass FX workshop at next year's South East Bass Bash! 😁 Nik
  9. Now that's the way to do it! Brilliant for sale ad @Ted Theodore Logan, III And a great cab too! GLWTS 😊
  10. ^^ This! Wishing you the best with it all Lozz.. Difficult a decision as it must have been, your health and wellbeing is the most important thing. Sounds like you've got some great memories to hold onto from your time in the band and a sense of real achievement too.. No doubt, in a few months time, you'll be onto your next musical adventure! 😊
  11. Thanks for sharing.. 😊 Really good stuff ; I like her voice and the songs are haunting and compelling.
  12. The answer to the OP's question is yes, millions and millions of people do. Record sales of The Beatles, Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Bowie, Paul Simon, Squeeze, Kate Bush, Grandmaster Flash, Cole Porter, The Beautiful South, Elvis Costelloe, Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, Amy Winehouse, Carole King, Randy Newman, Eminem, the great songwriters of musicals over the years such as Sondheim, Schuman & Schuman etc, etc.. Those brilliant storytelling songwriters - and so, so many others - is testimony to the fact that millions and millions of people listen to and care about the lyrics in songs. Protest songs, coming of age songs, redemption songs, love songs, comedic songs, songs of love and hate, allegorical songs, songs about drugs, songs about injustice, songs about togetherness, songs about the simple joy of being alive... Without the words, they would just be pieces of music - great music in many cases undoubtedly - but still, they'd just be music. But with the words, they become something else entirely. 'You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you will join us And the world will live as one.'
  13. Oops! Thanks for pointing that out.. 😊 I'll edit the post accordingly.
