  1. Hi @lowregisterhead Drummer in my band is looking for something like this. If it's still available, I'm sure he'll be interested. Will check with him and let you know. Cheers Nik
  2. Sorry to hear that @briansbrew, but as you say, someone is going to benefit..
  3. Lovely looking bass @briansbrew! I had an 80s Tokai Jazz Sound bass about 12 years ago and it was superb; better than any Fender Jazz I owned, including a '66 model at one time. I imagine this is cut from the same high quality cloth as my Jazz Sound was, so this must be very good indeed.. GLWTS
  4. Ditto regarding your mum, Chris.. We've had something similar for 3 years now with Mrs Silverfoxnik' mum who had a stroke in 2016. Nik
  5. Love that track Chris, being a Magazine (and Barry Adamson) fan.. Not sure what a Wal-head is though.. 😁
  6. Another beautiful looking instrument, Chris! The fretboard is stunning... GLWTS
  7. Had the pleasure of playing this bass recently and it's absolutely fabulous ; beautifully constructed, lightweight and it plays effortlessly.. As if that isn't enough, it sounds great too - a really balanced output between the two pick ups and has such a sweet tone. And that's just the passive setting.. It does even more when the active circuit is kicked in. And, IMHO, its a bit of a looker too. I know it's a bit of a Basschat cliché, but whoever buys this will not be disappointed! GLWTS Udo 😊
  8. These really are great basses! I played one owned by @cetera at last years South East Bass Bash and I was amazed at how good it was.. Really versatile tonally and very well made too - it compared very favourably with the build quality of the Gibson Thunderbird I had at the time. This looks like a very nice example and at a very keen price too considering the case, new strings etc. GLWTS 😊
  9. You're very welcome @wombatboter It was a genuine reaction to your video.. You have a playing style that's very easy on the ear (for want of a better phrase! 😊
  10. Great playing @wombatboter The bass sounds all the better for it.. and it looks cool in a stealthy black way too! GLWTS
  11. Great video @Bill Not sure if that's you playing or not but I love the way the bass sounds really funky in the video.. It contrasts really well with the fact that Gibson basses often get pigeon-holed as being 'rock basses'. This definitely sets that misconception straight! Anyway, GLWTS.
  12. Wow, fingers crossed no one was seriously injured..
  13. Yep - love that album!
  14. Welcome to the 513th South East Solar System Bass Bash... Our Hamster-Bot will relieve you of 10 credits at the holo-registration counter, whilst the Silverfoxnik-Bot will escort you to the S1m0n-Bot workshop on how to use your hi-speed, quantum particle drive Compressor.. Meanwhile, in the Jam Room, Paul our drummer-bot is somewhat delayed on the M25 Saturn's Ring ring Road. For those who entered the Raffle back in the 21st Century, the winning tickets are still being called...
  15. Sorry for the delay in replying @bagsieblue. Unfortunately my cabs are 49cms x 41 cms x 26 cms. Sorry! Appreciate your help and GLWTS!
  16. I have a 2011 version of this very same guitar and it's absolutely fantastic.. Faith guitars are amongst the very best electro-acoustic guitars you can buy under £1000 IMHO.. A mate of mine has the larger Jumbo model they do and again, its absolutely lovely. GLWTS
  17. ^^ Me neither! This is a great price for such a quality cab.. I've had two of these before and what struck me was how easy they are to move around, how well made they are and of course, how good they sound.
  18. Sad news.. 😢 A fave London venue of mine back in the day. Unfortunately, this is the pattern all over the country now with well-known and not so well-known venues closing down with nothing decent in the way of music venues to replace them. It's an absolute scandal really and so, so short sighted... Especially when you think of all the money generated in the UK economy over the years by successful acts - from the Beatles to the Stones and hundreds of others - who would most likely have got their start in venues like The Borderline.
  19. Echoing pretty much all of the above.. I still have regrets about having had to sell most of the basses that I've owned over the past 40 years or so, but definitely regret the sale of some much more than others.. I doubt it'll ever change to be honest. Having said that, I'm pretty happy with the bases I still own, so for now, all is well.. 😊
  20. I used to have one of these.. Great amps; loads of power and lovely EQ as the OP has said.. And it can be a great facility to be able to run an amp at 2 ohms. Nice price too! Anyway, good luck with the sale.. 😊
  21. Stage left. Close to the drummer's hi-hat and snare.. Always feels more natural that way.
  22. Wow.. Not my thing at all but this Vigier really is a bit special! If I played fretless, then the sound of this one is the kind of tone I would hope to be producing from a fretless bass. It's got a very distinct character to it IMO.. At this price, I'm astonished it hasn't sold given that it's uber-rare, cool as f**k to look at and makes such a lovely sound! Anyway, just to say GLWTS @fiatcoupe432
  23. Me neither.. This is a very cool looking bass put together with some excellent components and a lot of thought.. Anyway, GLWTS @eubassix
  24. Thanks - I'll check my cabs and will get back to you. 😊
