  1. Very nice! 😊 Looks like it even has a 'PB' serial number too. And quite unusual with the Schedua body without the mahogany core.. GLWTS
  2. Personal profile says location is Lancashire..
  3. Lovely looking jazz bass that oozes authenticity ! Really like your old radios in the background too - very vintage, just the ones my Dad had when I was young... Anyway, GLWTS
  4. Thanks Col, Not sure about Spring for the SE Bash though..?? Will message you. Nik
  5. +1 That's ridiculously cheap for a bass of this quality.. GLWTS Josh! 😊
  6. That'd be something that @Hamster would have to check for us Silvia... I'll message him to find out.. 😊
  7. Cheers @LukeFRC I already have one just like that... Though that is/was an amazing price!
  8. +1 IMO, playing music's a life-long journey and you never know what's round the corner.. Best of luck with it, whatever you end up doing. 😊
  9. Great band! One of the best gigs I ever saw was Incognito at the Ilford Island in 1995 with Max Beesley on drums or percussion, and Randy Hope Taylor on bass.. They were phenomenonal...
  10. Fabulous! 😊 GLWTS
  11. I like what they do and the sound they make.. The two guys are clearly talented musicians and what they're doing really well with the technology that's available to them, is a very good pastiche of the great chill-out funky, soul music I first heard back in the 70s. Personally, I prefer listening to the original artists that did this sort of music, who made their music/records with a collective group of musicians who all contributed to the whole sound and vibe, but I get that it's not like that these days.
  12. Beat me to it! 😊
  13. Herbie Flowers has used the same Jazz bass for over 40 years, as seen at the South East Bash in 2016. And I think I'm right in saying that Prince used the same Hohner Telecaster, the so called MadCat Telecaster, for many, many years. They've known some great tunes between them, those two instruments!
  14. Fabulous! I love my Shoreline Gold RBV and imagine this is just as good... GLWTS
  15. Very nice pre amp this; properly designed for use with bass guitars. Sounds great IMO... GLWTS
  16. I'd add to all that above by saying that the relatively new facility that we have on this site that allows you to bump your advert without saying anything even vaguely meaningful, makes it look like you don't really care enough to be bothered whether your item sells or not. I'm sure that's not the case, but that's how it seems to me at least. The old site forced you to have to add some content to your for sale thread to bump it up the list and personally, I think that system worked far better. Going back to the original question in this post, I think the for sale market on here has slowed considerably for many of the reasons already mentioned. At the moment, I think it's particularly bad and it is such a shame to see some fantastic gear - basses especially - just sitting there for months and months unsold.. Just my 2p worth of course...
  17. Almost the whole of the School's Out album is built around the bass lines.. His work on 'Halo of Flies' on the Killer album is equally brilliant IMO. Got to agree also with the mention above of the bass line in 'John, I'm Only Dancing' - absolutely brilliant! @ezbass - yes, absolutely agree with you about Davey Johnstone.. very, very fine, melodic playing. Mind you, he had some beautiful songs to work with... 😊
  18. Being a long-time fan of Trevor Bolder, it's great to see this post recognising his bass playing and his musicality. I grew up in the early 1970s listening to his playing, along with other melodic bassists around at the time like Dennis Dunaway (Alice Cooper), and it definitely shaped my idea of what the bass player could contribute melodically as well as rhythmically to a great song. Later on, as my musical knowledge and tastes broadened out, I got to discover McCartney, Entwhistle, and James Jameson for example, who were absolute masters of melodic bass playing that not only carried the song rhythmically, but added a melodic sensibility too.. Of course, there are countless other great melodic bass players out there - some of whom I've heard, some I've not, and many more I don't even know about - but for my particular bass playing journey, it all started with Trevor Bolder.
  19. This was mine for about 4 months earlier this year and I've got to say, it's an impressive piece of kit for the money! Very useable EQ, plenty of power and we'll featured..and all in a neat and tidy lightweight package. As Dan says, the fan's a bit loud for some, but it didn't trouble me at all to be honest. But then, I wasn't using it for home practicing.. In favt, I only sold it on because I picked up a Hartke LH500 in a trade... Anyway, have a BUMP on me for a great seller and a very good, lightweight amp! 😊
  20. I picked up a series 1 version of this cab recently and it's really, really good! GLWTS
  21. And a very, very good price for a Wal 5 too! GLWTS
  22. Just sold a Peavey MiniMAX to Dan in what was a very straightforward and easy transaction. As said above - Dan's a pleasure to deal with from start to finish so deal with him in absolute confidence Folks... Thanks Dan - hope you enjoy the amp! 😊 Nik
