  1. How has this not sold at this price?? I had one of these a few years ago, the 4 ohm version, that I got in a trade with @Captain Rumble, and it was a great sounding cab! Paired it with a Handbox R400 (part of the same trade) and it worked a treat in the covers band I was in at the time. We did a lot of alt & indie rock ; Blink 182, RHCP, Strokes, Nirvana, Blur etc, etc and it never let me down. For a 15" driver, the sound was surprisingly tight and focused, with plenty of mids and low end. GLWTS
  2. This bass looks v.cool, and it sounds fantastic on the 2 Georgina Blackwell recordings.. She has a great voice btw, and the playing (your playing?) is very funky! GLWTS
  3. Very sad news and a real shock! RIP 😢
  4. I have a Godin Classic Shifter 5 and it is such a versatile and well-made instrument that it far exceeded my expectations when I bought it a couple of years ago. The Godin pick ups sound great; super-punchy, really high output and combined with the pick up selector, give a great array of bass tones - P bass, J Bass, P/J Bass and something very close to a humbucking tone too... Oh, and the Godin gig bags are really good, much, much better than standard Fender ones for example. IMHO, this is a bit of a bargain and whoever buys it will be very pleasantly surprised I think... GLWTS
  5. Me too! Looking at your pictures @tayste_2000 really does take me back to Christmas 1975 when my parents bought me one of these from Woolworths as my present that year. Think it cost them about £15.. Wow - what a blast from the past! Anyway, best of luck with the sale.. 👍😊
  6. Me too, Chris ... He was very entertaining! 😁
  7. +1 to the above... And to so many of the other posts too.. And thanks to @Rayman for such a great post! 👍😊 I've lost count of the times I've said to people how I wished something like Basschat had existed when I first starting playing bass in my teens (which was a long time ago..). Gotta say @ped and @Kiwi really did something good when they started this - and the fact that it's still going is amazing IMO..! In terms of 'bad run ins' and confrontational or contentious posts etc anyone remember Big Beef Chief?? Those were the days.. 😂🤣😂
  8. 😁 Much as I believe in the core Basschat mantra of 'you can never have too many basses' , my two existing 5 string basses (that don't get enough playing time as it is), would definitely object to the arrival of another 5er at Silverfox Towers - lovely as your KSD undoubtedly is! They're already struggling to cope with the arrival of the CIJ Jazz that i bought at the weekend...
  9. Thanks @thestick, It's a great sounding amp - you're absolutely right. Btw - I used to have a KSD 5 string that I bought directly from Bernie Goodfellow, who set it up for me and fitted it with an Aguilar preamp... It was a really nice bass! GLWTS of your one.. 👍😊
  10. Having heard a couple of YouTube demos of the Korean built Elrick/Cort 5 strings, which are pretty good, this must sound absolutely amazing Si! It looks awesome too, but then again, I do have a thing for all black basses.. 😁😎 Anyeay, GLWTS Si, And sending you very best wishes also for the imminent arrival of your new baby daughter! 😊
  11. No problem, and GLWTS of your stuff... Not an easy time to shift gear at the moment, but at least January is almost out of the way!
  12. £SOLD Hi Folks, Up for sale only is one of David Eden's amazing World Tour Series bass amps, from the golden era of Eden bass gear that graced stages across the world during the late 90s and early Noughties. This year 2000 model is a superb example of the WT-400, which is in excellent condition and sounds fantastic ! These amps are incredibly powerful, have very musical e.q. and are relatively lightweight... I'm after £SOLD or near offer for the amp and the hard case that it comes with. I bought this from @E sharplast year, mainly to use on a recording project and as a back up to my Mesa Boogie amps for gigs, but in all truth, it's hardly been used since I bought it last September. Apart from having too much gear, I've also just purchased another bass, so I'm looking to balance the books by moving this onto a new owner, who I hope will get a lot more use out of it and enjoy everything it has to offer. Here's a link to last E Sharp's for sale ad, which properly explains the back story on this amp. As you can see, I'm only the second owner of this classic head... Here's a couple of YouTube demos that tell you a lot about the versatile and powerful tonal shaping possibilities this amp offers: And this old ZZ Sounds ad has all the spec for the WT-400. https://www.zzounds.com/item--EDEWT400 I'm based in Potton, Central Bedfordshire, not to far from the Beds/Cambs border and ideally would prefer to sell this to someone who can collect in person. Not only is that a safer way to buy, you'll also get a chance to test the amp out properly - and have a good old natter about all things bass of course whilst being supplied copious amounts of tea, coffee and biscuits .. 😁. Shipping (at buyer's expense) could be a possibility, but we'd need to discuss it... I also work in London and travel regularly through Beds/Herts, so a meet up along the A1 corridor in that neck of the woods is doable too. If you've any questions, want any more info or photos, please PM or ask away here. Thanks for looking! 😊 Cheers Nik
  13. That looks absolutely fantastic @Rayman! GLWTS
  14. Hi Folks, I had the pleasure of meeting @Cairobill, aka Nick, for the first time yesterday... Typical time-honoured format for a Basschat meet up; two teenage musos masquerading as grown-ups, chatting away carside in a motorway services station, somewhere south of London. Only difference these days is that there's no actual cash changing hands - that all takes place digitally of course.. But still, something physical changes hands - in this case, Nick's beautiful sonic blue MIJ Fender Jazz, which is now residing rather smugly on a stand in Silverfoxnik Towers demanding to be played. What can I say other than it's always great to meet with fellow Basschatters, especially ones you've known of on the forum since the early 2006/7 days.. And that's so true where Nick's concerned - he's a great guy to talk to, an extremely talented musician and singer-songwriter, and he knows his stuff when it comes to Jazz basses and bass gesr in general ! And what's more, he's very easy and open to deal with, so buy/sell/trade with Nick in absolute confidence Folks. Thanks for a fascinating chat yesterday Nick, and for a fabulous Jazz Bass - it played and sounded great at rehearsals yesterday afternoon (as I kind of knew it would). 👍😊 Nik
  15. Ah, that was possibly the most famous South East Bass Bash workshop of all time @pete.young.. 😁 Happy days... 👍😊
  16. Just adding to this new thread for Elliott, and echoing what @Mudpuphas already said above. Elliott bought an Aguilar DB212 cab off me a year or so ago, before he joined Basschat. It was a very smooth transaction i have to say.. Elliott's a great person to deal with, knows his gear, and is a fab bass player too! Highly recommended! 👍😊
