  1. Just sold a Berg cab and a Markbass LM3 to Pawel in what was a perfect transaction yet again... After a few PMs were exchanged, Pawel came round bang on time to collect the rig - which saved me hours in packaging & shipping time - and then, after checking out the rig and offering me good money for it, he had the sheer audacity and generosity of spirit to offer to buy me a pint afterwards!! Which was cool because we had a great chat about all sorts of things, including the very fine art of Tattoos.. So... a perfect gent, a fine player and a credit to the forum - what more can you ask.. Thanks Pawel; really hope you enjoy the rig! Here's to the next one. Nik
  2. Bergantino now SOLD - thanks for all the interest !
  3. Item now SOLD -thanks for all the interest..
  4. In answer to a few questions I've had, it's a 2010, Italian made model. Here's a few pictures..
  5. Thanks Chris... Wise words as ever. ☺ I've put my Markbass LM3 on here today, and some Love Supreme Festival tickets for Elvis Costello and Level 42, and if they sell, then I'll be keeping this one.
  6. That's a very cool looking bass. Chris! Reminds me of a Limelight, but at half the price... GLWTS
  7. Wow! That was a surprise as I've had quite a few PMs already about this.. So, just to say that yes, I'm happy to post the head at buyer's expense, but only if it's a fully insured service - it's too risky otherwise.
  8. ^^ I've no problem with shipping gear abroad, but only if it's a fully insured service.. It costs that bit more, but it's just too risky otherwise. PM me if you'd like any other info..
  9. Hi Folks Markbass LM3 now SOLD. I'm sure most people know the spec already, but just to say that it's a 500 watt, 4ohm Class D bass amp that weighs less than most multi FX units! ☺ I bought it from Herman on here in January to use as my back up, but as my other gear isn't selling so easily, I figure I should try to see if there's any love for this little design marvel of the modern bass world.. Suffice to say it's in excellent condition and excellent working order and was PAT tested in May this year. Hardly used barring a few rehearsals and a one-off local festival in June, at which I think our very own Linus27 made good use of it with his band. Pictures to follow later this evening. Any questions, please PM me and thanks for looking. Nik
  10. Nice vintage looking cab! GLWTS
  11. Thanks ☺ You're absolutely right about the build quality of these cabs. When taking photos of it before putting it up for sale here, I noticed that the speaker cable used internally is the same kind I use for my hifi at home - real top-notch stuff! As can be seen in this photo.. which confirms not only how good the cable is but also what a geek I am.. 😁
  12. Agree with the pick vs finger style idea.. I'd also like to hear something on or like; a) applying some fundamental music theory, e.g. modes/scales, into a gigging band situation b) playing fretless bass (or Db) c) Top 10 gigging tips for weekend warriors Having said that, there's so many good ideas around already, it'll be great !
  13. BUMP for a small price drop to £485 or very near offer.
  14. Cheers Greg! ☺ It is fabulous and I can only imagine how it would sound through that Boogie 412.. Must admit to being very torn about this amp ... it works so well in my band, and is only just shaded by my Ampeg V4BH.
  15. Absolute bargain for a cab of this quality! GLWTS
  16. The clue's in the name of the band, Jack... 😉
  17. A 'Something for the Weekend' type of BUMP ! Still here and open to a sensible offer (or two).. ☺
  18. A 'Something for the Weekend' type of BUMP ! Still here and open to a sensible offer (or two).. ☺
  19. Thanks... ☺ Still here and open to a sensible offer (or two).
  20. Great idea! Looking forward to the first one. ☺ Once it's up and running, can I suggest that we link this idea to the various regional Bass Bashes, where there will be opportunities to get some fantastic content for the podcasts. For example, the SE Bash has had so many good workshops and guest speakers over the years, much of which would have made for interesting and relevant podcast material...
  21. No problem.. Maybe you should check out this, though admittedly it's not a 4 ohm cab:
  22. I know the market is slow on here right now, possibly the slowest it's been for years, but I am just amazed that this bass is still here! So have a BUMP on me for a high quality British-made, boutique, super-Jazz 5er for only £700. GLWTS
  23. Great thread ☺ and yeah, I love counter-intuitive stuff like this! Totally agree with lots of the above comments; having spent a lot of time in recording studios over the years, the sounds that work in a studio mix are never what we think they are when we hear them solo. That's why I'm not generally a fan of that hifi and scooped mids bass tone that's been quite popular and prevalent in recent years - though obviously, in some contexts, it can work really well. These days, I use more overdriven bass sounds than I've ever done before, and find they work better in almost every context I've used them in , whether that's playing out and out rock tunes, or Steely Dan stuff, Joni Mitchell tunes, hip-hop style basslines etc, etc..
