    I used my V4BH last week in the studio, with the matching 115 cab and a Gibson Thunderbird and it sounded absolutely fabulous.. So much so that the studio owner - who was also engineering the session for us - went online to see how much he could buy one for! He was a little crestfallen when he saw the new price for these amps, so I'll let him know about this one when I speak to him tomorrow. GLWTS

    I know that feeling, Chris, having less spare money and spare time myself these days... But it's been a blast - some fab gear acquired, then sold.. and in some cases, re-acquired. You couldn't make it up really ! 😁 Proud of? Maybe not, but a lot of fun and some good friends made along the way..

    Am really surprised this is still here.. Great cab, bargain price and Chris is an absolute gentleman to deal.. As many on here would agree I'm sure, Chris is so legendary on Basschat for his buying & selling gear exploits that there should be - by rights - at least half a dozen blue plaques bearing his name on various Motorway service station walls up and down the country! 😁 GLWTS

    Lovely bass! I had one of these back in 1992 for a few years.. Stunning basses - incredibly resonant, deep and rich sounding with so much sustain! GLWTS

    Wow - I'm surprised to see this one up for sale Pat! For those that don't know, these are seriously good 5 string basses, especially if you like passive models, which I do. It does a great P bass, MM bass and even a J bass sound too, and the passive tone control allows you to get a good old-fashioned P bass Motown thump! The B string is excellent btw, being a 35" scale neck. Anyway, GLWTS ☺

    Used to love my ME50b - such a lot of FX for the money and a lot of fun to play with too! I changed mine for a Zoom B3 because it is smaller and lighter than this, but the ME50b is a much more creative sound shaping tool to use IMO. Am very surprised that this is still here to be honest, especially at this price.. GLWTS

    I've had a few Squier basses over the years and they've all been pretty good.. In fact, I have a Squier 90s P bass at the moment and it plays and sounds great!

    Yep, no problem at all.. When I think back to the quality of basses I had when I first started playing in the late 70s, a modern day Squier would be 'luxury' (to quote Monty Python) in comparison.

    I'm happy to be a 'weekend warrior' and I enjoy being that far more than I ever did being a so-called 'pro musician'. The world has plenty of room for us all though IMO - whatever our specific status as far as this poll goes.. And the more people there are making music, the better it is as far as I'm concerned - especially us bass players! ☺

    Another BUMP from me for Jon and for this Metro combo, which I still think is an absolute bargain at this price. Superb quality kit from the golden era of David Eden bass gear and with one of the best e.q. sections ever designed for bass amplification.. GLWTS
