  1. Awesome - the big boxes collection is getting even bigger! I admire your style and ambition Chris, what else can I say.. 😁
  2. I've had a few Squier basses over the years and they've all been pretty good.. In fact, I have a Squier 90s P bass at the moment and it plays and sounds great!
  3. Yep, no problem at all.. When I think back to the quality of basses I had when I first started playing in the late 70s, a modern day Squier would be 'luxury' (to quote Monty Python) in comparison.
  4. I'm happy to be a 'weekend warrior' and I enjoy being that far more than I ever did being a so-called 'pro musician'. The world has plenty of room for us all though IMO - whatever our specific status as far as this poll goes.. And the more people there are making music, the better it is as far as I'm concerned - especially us bass players! ☺
  5. Where are you Pawel G?? Time to make it to a Bash at last... 😁
  6. Another BUMP from me for Jon and for this Metro combo, which I still think is an absolute bargain at this price. Superb quality kit from the golden era of David Eden bass gear and with one of the best e.q. sections ever designed for bass amplification.. GLWTS
  7. Have a BUMP on me for a great sounding cab, and a great seller in Jon.. ☺ I happily gigged one of these for 7 years and it never let me down in any venue. GLWTS
  8. Yep, planned far enough in advance at a good, accessible location and I think 20+ people is definitely possible.. I'm up for coming to this one btw.. Nik
  9. Really nice bass, Jack! GLWTS
  10. Wow, Jack! What's going on?? You could get RSI just from selling so many basses at one time... Anyway, just to say that I've played this bass and it's a cracker! Very similar tonally to my BC Rich Eagle from the same era.. plays great too. GLWTS
  11. Great bass! I remember trying one of these out at the Bass Centre in Wapping in the late 80s or early 90s. IIRC, the filter circuit was Overwater's version of the Wal Custom electronics and was very good... I can't remember what pick ups they had, though they look like Kent Armstrong humbuckers to me.. Anyway, have a BUMP from me for a really cool British made, boutique bass! GLWTS
  12. BUMP for a cool, portable rig and a great Basschat seller! How's the 'big boxes' therapy going Chris? 😁
  13. I remember that, Chris! Just wish my bass playing was as consistent as my online whinging... 😁 I know the music and musicians in his band do a great job but I just don't like JK's voice, songs or hat-ittude!
  14. Awful, horrid, plastic, soul-less, meaningless pop/pap funk! I used to have to play that song every weekend for 3 years in a band I was in once and it was absolute low point of the evening every time... I've nothing against the backing musicians involved like Nick Fyffe - who are very talented and far more successful than me - it's just something about JK that makes my musical blood run cold. 'Poundland Stevie Wonder' really make me chuckle.. 😁
  15. "For sale my beloved <bass/amp/cab etc.>"
  16. Good thread this! And it's got me thinking... Did a quick count up of existing gear and it's about £6k not including a few acoustic guitars.. All of it has been acquired over a 12 year period (when I started playing again after an 11 year break). So, in my self-justifying brain, it's an average spend of about £500 per year and, as I don't smoke or drink - nor do I have any other expensive hobbies like golf/cars/cycling etc - then I'm pretty comfortable with it. Having said that, it's real value to me is that it's absolutely priceless - I just can't imagine life without the opportunity and the equipment I need to make music with other like-minded people on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis! And the value to my nearest & dearest is incalculable as I'd be even more insufferable to be around if I couldn't play the bass and make music.
  17. Just had the pleasure of dealing with Mac, who's bought a Yamaha amp from me. Great comms throughout and fast payment too... But most of all, Mac's a real Gent, so I'm really pleased that I've been able to help him find the amp he was after! Thanks Mac and I hope you enjoy the amp.. ☺
  18. Cool; will check your website out.. Back on topic, I A/B'd my V4BH against my Markbass LMIII and, whilst the LMIII is louder (and obviously lighter), the V4BH has so much more depth and warmth to it.. It's not even an e.q. thing either - it's just the fundamental tone it produces has those inherent characteristics.. So, GLWTS (again) ☺
  19. +1 I didn't realise it was a Bill Lawrence pick up, which are fabulous as you say. Makes this an even better instrument IMO.
  20. All good thanks Geoff; hope you are too? I'm assuming this is the same amp I owned for a while... if so, it's a beautiful sounding head with so much tonal versatility and with loads of power too!
  21. Great amp! And Geoff's a really good guy to deal with too, so you can't go wrong.. GLWTS
  22. I have a Berg 212 too and you're absolutely right, it pairs wonderfully with this amp.. Which venue in Bognor were you playing at?
  23. Hi ash, Is this likely to fit a Markbass LM3? Nik
