1. Thanks for the offers of help re: Status folks but it won't be necessary now. I've just had confirmation that Steve Lawson is now able to come along and do a workshop for us on the day, which is very exciting news! 😊 We've also had an offer of a fretless workshop from Gareth, a.k.a. walbassist which again, is great news. So.. we're just trying to sort out new workshop times to accommodate everyone and then we'll post up a revised schedule. Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions and offers of help! Nik
 2.
Would it be worth approaching the guys at Status about a talk? History of the company, use of graphite vs wood, notable players - that sort of thing?
Great idea! Does anyone have any direct links to them, Rob in particular?
 3.
Er... I may even be able to make this one.
Excellent! 😊
 4.
If Ian would be up for replacing a set of friction tuners on a 1920's 5 string banjo with some geared tuners that would be awesome. I have the banjo and the replacement parts. He'll need a violin reamer and a 9.5mm (3/8") drill.
Hi Pete Ian said: "Strange request for a bass day :-) but yes certainly. If it's just fitting it will be around Β£20-25. Extra to string and set up to play." Shall I let him know you'll be there avec le Banjo? Nik

 6.
And is he any good at dealing with rust on a Mercedes Vito. I'm happy to supply the body filler.
😁
 7.
That sounds awesome!
+1 Really nice playing too!😊
 8. Just had the pleasure of meeting Mark for the first time and - having done a super-fast deal with him to buy some PA mics & leads etc - I can echo all the kind words and superlatives said about him in this thread; Great sense of humour, very good comms and very knowledgeable about gear - which always makes things interesting when meeting fellow Basschatters. Thanks for the kit Mark and also, for traveling down to the coast to deliver it today - I really appreciate it! All the best for now and I hope to see you at the South East Bash! 😊 Nik
 9. Here's a quick reminder of what's going on at the Bash next month: 12.00: Talk by Lee from Andertons Music Co. 13.30: Davey Rimmer, Uriah Heep bassist So; Andertons: According to Lee, he said he 'would love to come and meet us Basschatters and talk all things bass... what we want from a bass shop, what their plans are etc.... :-)' πŸ‘ Sounds pretty good to me! Davey Rimmer, Workshop With a bit of help from Gary, a.k.a. cetera, I'm really pleased to say that Davey Rimmer (bassist for Uriah Heep) has offered to give a 45 minute presentation on his career; gear choices, life on the road, Uriah Heep, Trevor Bolder etc. And, if we ask him nicely, he may demonstrate a few tunes for us! πŸ‘ Ian Robinson, luthier Ian has kindly offered to come along again this year and do set ups and other techy stuff on the day. In order to make it worthwhile for Ian to come up for the day from the south coast for the day, it'd be good if he had an idea of any work that anyone might need. So, if there's anything that you need done on a bass, guitar, mandolin etc, please could you post up a request here so Ian knows what kit to bring up with him. Thanks! 😊 Other stuff It would still be good to have another talk if anyone fancies stepping in with a half hour on a topic of interest? For example, a valve Vs solid state shootout, a workshop on fretless bass, or music theory?? If you've any ideas, please PM me. There will be all the usual other stuff going on of course, The Jam Room, For Sale area in the Foyer, the big Hall where you can set up all of you gear and basses, etc, etc and of course the Refreshments Area β˜•πŸ© in the Foyer brilliantly arranged and managed by 🌠 Mrs Hamster! 🌠 So, thanks for looking and we look forward to seeing you next month! 😊 Nik
 10. A roughly ' only one month to go' kind of BUMP! 😊
 11.
Pawel is a sound bloke to deal with kinda bump
+1 I bought a fantastic P bass from Pawel a few months ago and, apart from coming away with a great bass, I had a really enjoyable couple of hours chatting with Pawel about all things bass! GLWTS
 12.
PM'd
There's a surprise! 😁 Very cool bass bttw... GLWTS
 13. I'm not surprised, it's very nice indeed! 😊
 14. πŸ˜€ Could be, but IIRC, I think cetera has had a Japanese P bass up for sale for over 3 years now..
 15. Two fabulous and unique basses! GLWTS of the Martin btw...
 16. My old BB 300... Fabulous bass for the money; gorgeous neck and must be even better now with the new bridge! 😊 Jay's a great guy to deal with too so you can't go wrong... GLWTS
 17. I'm fine thanks Chris! 😊 Sounds like you're putting together a pretty cool studio btw... Nik
 18. Lovely brace of basses, Chris! If I didn't have too many basses myself....I'd be very tempted. GLWTS Hope all's well with you btw? 😊
 19.
Now that I'm down to a lowly 2 basses, it's got a good shot of making it!
Great! 😊
 20. I neither gig regularly enough to warrant owning one of these, nor do I need any more cabs anyway, but that doesn't mean to say I don't want to play my bass very loudly through my Ampeg V4BH into this cab! 😁 Always liked SWR cabs over the years, and this looks like the best they ever built. GLWTS
 21.
What a pity! Hope to see you at another event soon. I've created a Facebook event for the bash: https://www.facebook.com/events/741736856012863/
Thanks bluejay 😊
 22.
Armed with that JV I trust?
Good question! πŸ˜€
