1. Lovely! Very nice with the maple fretboard too... GLWTS
 2. Hi Folks Am currently up in Suffolk with Mrs Silverfoxnik for the Latitude Festival which starts tomorrow. Great line up so it should be a great few days... So, yesterday, we went to have a look round the coastal town of Southwold (very nice, but pricey) and imagine my surprise when walking into the Sue Ryder charity shop here: (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sue+ryder+shop+southwold&oq=sue+ryder+southwold&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0.14163j0j4&client=ms-android-huawei&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8) Only to find one of these for sale: https://reverb.com/uk/item/204780-taylor-ab3-acoustic-bass-maple-spruce Wow - what a beautiful instrument! 😊 I've never seen one or played one before but it really was a work of art. I had a quick look at it and had a very quick play of it too and, apart from being in immaculate condition, it had such a lovely tone! Very resonant and warm sounding and it played so beautifully too.. I had a word with the Shops Manager and she said that all proceeds from the sale of it were going to the shop/charity, so it's being sold for a good cause. I think they are selling it for around the £2k mark, which isn't cheap, but it's probably around the going rate for such a quality instrument. Anyway, I doubt they'll sell it just through the usual footfall that passes through the shop, so I thought a little post here on the forum might help them. Nik
 3. Good to see you on board Trevor! Need to get these numbers up, Folks - any more takers? 😊
 4.
I'm in Birmingham - I gig here a lot, and as Shelly has noted elsewhere, there are often a fair few Basschatters that show up to my gigs. Next one is on July 23rd at Tower Of Song in Birmingham, with drummer Andy Edwards (ex-Robert Plant/Frost*/IQ etc.) and guitar genus Phi Yaan-Zek. hope your bass bash goes well!
Thanks Steve Sounds like an amazing line up btw. .
 5. Very nice! Love those tuners 😊 GLWTS
 6.
How about a talk on In Ear Monitoring by someone in the know? I see quite a few threads on the subject so there might be some interest...?
I've been thinking about this since you first posted the suggestion and have been trying to get my head around how in ear monitoring can be demonstrated to a room full of people?
 7.
How about a cabinet shootout? Brands of 2x10s up against one another etc..? I'm pretty sure it might've been done before, mind you.
We did a cab shoot out 2 years ago run by Lozz which was good.. No harm in doing another one if it's got a different angle to it perhaps?
 8.
What about asking Rhino to chat about his life in the Quo? He's a regular attendee. Or Neil Murray? He's a Basschattter, tho ,I guess mostly it's BC for bass sales The other thought I had, though I don't have personal links to him, was someone like Lol Cottle. He must have a few stories to tell. Or Mo Foster... he's not short of an anecdote.
Good ideas there Trevor.. Rhino attended last year's bash but I think it was the first he'd been to. And I know that Lol Cottle spoke at the Herts Bash about 3 years ago IIRC, so maybe Mick's got a link there we can try? Mo Foster's a good call too - has anyone got any links?
 9. Hi Steve Thanks very much for you message explaining your situation and though we'd love you to be able to join us on the day, we completely understand that it isn't possible for you to do.. Whereabouts are you based by the way? Maybe there's another one of the regional Basschat Bashes taking place nearer to you that you'd like to visit.. All the best, Nik
 10.
Update: Paul's come back to me - unfortunately he can't make it as he's doing a gig in Finland that day.
Thanks for asking and a shame he can't join us.. Next time perhaps? 😊
 11.
How does this work Tom? Is it for a two pickup bass? I'm just confused because the 51 style Precision has only one pickup, as we all know. Except mine that is, which has two Seymour Duncan pickups. So I'm interested in this for that reason. Frank.
Thanks for the additional picture Tom And good question Frank; I'm interested because of wanting to upgrade a jazz bass, but this may make more sense for you?
 12. Have another 'what a beaut' type comment, and a free BUMP on me! Gorgeous looking bass, and - if it's anything in quality like the 1984 Tokai Jazz I had once - then it'll not only great, it'll sound fantastic..
 13.
Paul Turner is a former customer at BassGear, part owned by Molan - see if he has any leverage.
Thanks Mick...
 14.
I know Paul - had lessons with him and he's a friend of mine on Facebook - I'll drop him a PM on there.
Great, thanks! 😊
 15. Hi Tom Is this a standard jazz bass scratch plate size do you know, and do you have an overhead picture of it? Thanks Nik
 16.
I know he's a busy man but I'd love to see a set/talk by Steve Lawson!!
Me too! Does anybody know Steve well enough to ask?
 17.
Count me in too! What about asking Paul Geary or Dave Swift to do a lesson (really enjoyed their talk at the show a few years ago)?
Good idea; I'm not sure who has an 'in' with Paul or Dave, but if someone could put in a word, that'd be great?
 18. A '64 Rick!! Fabulous.. That's something a lot of us are going to want to see. 😊
 19.
Nik, when we talked before, you said that it would be cool to get somebody to give a bass lesson. Is that still an idea? I think that would be great. I can only imagine how hard it will be to find a subject fitting all the needs :-)
Good call, Pawel.. Will ask around to see if anyone's available and willing to do a lesson for us. It does need a bit of narrowing down though, so perhaps people could suggest some topics that would be really useful to have covered in a bass lesson? A few years ago, Jake, a.k.a. jakenewmanbass, did a lesson for us at the West Sussex mini-Bash and that was great!
 20. It's a really easy going format on the day normally... Come along, bring some of your gear if you want to, chat with other Basschatters if you want to, listen to other people play, try out some new gear if you want to, have a jam in the Jam Room if you want to, etc, etc.. An keen interest in 'all things bass' and a very friendly vibe is the order of the day really. 😊
