1.
Very well cheers and you Nick?
Good thanks Si.. Still crap at setting up my dbx compressor, but otherwise all fine! Looks like the Berg is about to leave the building, which is good. 😊
 2. Sadly,no. I have too many basses as it is! One more could seriously disrupt the space-time warp continuum! And cause me serious health and wellbeing issues at home... 😁
 3. That's a very good price for the Acme cab! IIRC, they were quite sought after on here a few years ago.. GLWTS
 4. That's a rather stunning looking instrument to my eyes, I have to say! Have a BUMP on me and GLWTS 😊
 5.
Good Lord. That is just a stunning instrument!
+1 Stunning high quality work! GLWTS
 6.
I've yet to meet anybody from this forum that I didn't like....everybody I've met at a Bash has been open and friendly and when I've done deals it's been a bind to end conversations as there's always so much in common. Bassists, we are such a great bunch.
+1 Endless positive experiences since being on Basschat this last 10 years or so.. Well, except for my bank balance of course which hasn't quite enjoyed such a positive time of things! 😀
 7. Great cab! I'm really enjoying mine at the moment... Good luck with the sale btw 😊
 8. In the main, it was early 70s music that inspired me to start playing bass; Bowie, Alice Cooper, Roxy Music, Santana. Early punk bassists further inspired me too, especially Andy Warren when he was in Adam & The Ants and Steven Severin in Siouxsie & The Banshees. Lots of other music genres over the last 40 years have continued to inspire my continuing love of music and bass playing and the great thing is, that passion shows absolutely no signs of changing or slowing down! 😊
 9. Wow -never thought I'd see this up for sale!! The times they are a changing... GLWTS Si, hope you're well? Nik
 10.
So you guys are saying this bass line is not played starting on an open E? And you've all been listening to the original recording?
+3 on this.. Was playing it last night with a keyboard player at an open mic and he plays it in the same register as an open E on the bass, which is how it sounds to me on the original recording.
 11. Just sold a Yamaha BB300 to Jamie in what was such an easy and hassle-free deal! Jamie's comms are excellent and that always makes such a big difference when buying and selling on here IMO. So, very highly recommended to one and all here on Basschat! Thanks Jamie - hope you enjoy the bass.. 😊
 12.
Many lay people may not know who he is but will know the theme from Top Gear, "Jessica". Another loss to Musicland...to this generation "successful musician" will mean 2 hit singles. RIP.
Well said Mick and RIP Gregg..
 13. This is definitely a very well made instrument, with a distinctive boutique look and a rarity value too and, if I were a more experienced fretless player, I'd be very interested.. My thoughts are that the Brazilian mahogany body/ebony fretboard combination have a bit of a Wal like quality to them and with the addition of an acg filter preamp, this could be a very good way to emulate that famous Wal fretless tone on a fraction of the budget. Could be completely wrong of course, but there's a lot of potential with a bass of this quality IMHO. GLWTS
 14.
Honestly, JJ's actual P-basses are some of the very few star instruments I have any interest in. I mean, the bass that was played on THIS... c'mon! (And if anybody here's never seen this, it's well worth nine minutes of your life, especially with headphones on). http://www.youtube....h?v=2iDj1D2OimM
Fabulous music, voice, bass playing and song! Unbelievably poignant too, this week especially. Thanks for sharing...
 15. Just a few quick suggestions, as these are some of my all time favourite bass lines... What's Going On, Marvin Gaye, played by the legendary James Jamerson Penny Lane, The Beatles, played by the equally legendary Macca Good Times, Chic, played by Bernard Edwards I Wish/Sir Duke, Stevie Wonder, played by ??? (- was it Stevie Wonder) As has already been said, there are just so many wonderful bass lines out there to choose from we are literally spoiled for choice!
 16.
These are stonking basses. Quality for nothing money. Glwts
Thanks and I can only agree with you; Yamaha basses have always punched above their weight IMO. It's a bit of a cliché to say it, but I really will be sad to see this one go.
 17. OK, here are two really rough soundclip, recorded live straight onto my Huawei smartphone, so they're pretty poor quality to be honest... The bass was plugged into my Zoom B3 - which kindly provided the very repetitive back beat - and from there it was plugged into a little Stagg practice amp. There are no effects or compression - just the sound of the B3 and the bass. And because the phone was positioned quite near the bass itself, you can also hear the sound of me playing the bass, which adds an almost piezo like effect on the first clip especially.. BB300 played with fingers: https://soundcloud.c...b300-sound-clip BB300 played with a pick: https://soundcloud.c...yed-with-a-pick For those pub quiz experts out there, the second clip is part of the bass line from Blondie's 'Hanging on the Telephone'. Hopefully what you will be able to glean from this lo-fi recording is that the bass has quite a good P bass tone to it...
 18.
I suppose this is a 43mm but width?
Yes, nut width is 43mm.
 19. I'm based in Littlehampton, West Sussex, which is about 20 miles west of Brighton.

Thanks. Soundclips to follow... (hopefully)
