1. Welcome Ash, No idea what a Mass Spectrometer is but I guess it's pretty complicated.... Given that, it sounds like you have the right skills and mindset for your bass rebuild project though, so good luck with that and enjoy your time here on BC! Nik
2. Wow! 😯 Steve - what are you doing?? These cabs are amazing... I think I've heard this in action at either the West Sussex 2014 Bash or one of the South East Bashes; an absolutely fantastic sounding cab! Anyway, as tempting as it is, I must resist as I've recently bought a new lightweight cab! Whoever buys this though, will not be disappointed.. GLWTS
3. In Littlehampton, West Sussex, about 20 miles east of Brighton.
4. Fantastic piece of kit! I have the WT400 and it's so good in terms of tone, power and features, but this is even better IMO. In particular, having two separate power amps that allow you to bi-amp your output signal, and adjust the balance between the two is so useful... Anyway, GLWTS.
5. Just had a really easy transaction with Dan, who's bought a Tecamp 115 XS cab from me. Super fast payment, great comms and a genuine pleasure to deal with! Another absolute credit to this forum, so deal with in confidence folks.. 👍 Many thanks Dan. - hope you enjoy the cab! 😊 Nik
6. Price drop BUMP. Now looking for £65 or near offer for this cab. Thanks 😊
7. Hi Folks Continuing my clear out of bass cabs, here for sale is an Ashdown RM-MAG- 212T, 350 watt, 8 Ohm Bass Cab for sale in reasonable condition that I'm asking NOW SOLD for. I've replaced it with a lighter weight cab, hence why it's up for sale, but it's quite a nice sounding cab for not too much money! It's not as capable of the extended highs and lows of the Ashdown ABM 212 cab that I've just sold on here, but it's still a sweet sounding cab nonetheless. In the interests of full disclosure, when I got this about a year ago, the cab was making a bit of a rattling or vibration noise when playing certain bass notes, but I've since put some acoustic dampening materials in the cab and that seems to have pretty much cured it... Here's a photo and a link to some more photos here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskU4QXo3 And here's the tech spec for this cab from Ashdown: "Loaded with custom Ashdown drivers for exceptional attack, clarity and low-end performance, Rootmaster cabinets are engineered for performance and reliability. Rootmaster cabs are now sealed creating an infinite baffle for smoother low end response and faster attack. Solid construction is paired with hard-wearing vinyl coverings, protective corners, tough grille cloths and vibration-reducing rubber feet, a combination that delivers powerful sound and hard-wearing longevity that'll stand up to years of use. Rated at 350W (8 ohms), the RM-MAG-212T packs a powerful, defined and gutsy punch through twin Ashdown 12" speakers and a single HF tweeter. Technical Specifications: Power Output: 300w Speaker Configuration: 2 x 12 Frequency Response: 60Hz - 20kHz Impedance: 8 Ohm SPL: 98dB 1W @ 1m H x W x D (mm) 706 x 467 x 335 Weight (kg): 31 Any serious interested buyers are very welcome to come and view and hear the cab. Equally, I'd be happy to post it at your expense, though it might not be very economical to do that as it weighs over 60 lbs... Thanks for looking and if you've any questions, please feel free to message me Nik
8.
Musicians performing live on TV is good.
+2 There are very few opportunities for musicians to perform live on TV shows these days as it is; the ones that are there need to be supported and encouraged as much as possible.
9. Hi Folks I bought this Tecamp 115 XS cab in February from Gareth (Walbassist) in February as part of my search for a lightweight, one-cab solution for gigging. However, as sweet as it sounds and as lightweight as it it, it's not quite working out for me as I've realised that I need something that will cope with my more aggressive playing style and sounds in the two bands I'm in. Now SOLD. Here's a photo and a link to some more here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskTY1cEC: It's in excellent condition and has hardly been used since it was bought by Gareth in December 2015. Here's the spec from Tecamp: Speaker: 1 x 15" Ceramic Tweeter: 4" CTM1 cone (switchable full/half/off) Power Handling: 400 W RMS Impedance: each cab is 4 ohms Two Speakon® combo connectors Dimensions: (W x H x D): 44 cm x 54 cm x 35 cm / 17.4" x 21.1" x 13.8" Weight: 15kg / 33lbs If you're interested in this cab, then you'll know just how fantastically well made Tecamp gear is and how great it sounds and, in the right musical setting, it really will shine! I'd much prefer that you could come and hear it first and then take it away if you like it (after payment of course), but equally, I'll be very happy to send it extremely well packaged up by courier. If you've any further questions, please feel free to PM me or ask away here.. Thanks for looking! Nik
10. Just met up with Mick to sell him my Ashdown ABM 212 cab. Great to meet another, local Basschatter and what's more, have a very easy and pleasant transaction with him. Happy to recommend him to one and all here on Basschat and look forward to catching up with him at a gig or a Bash sometime soon! Thanks Mick, hope you enjoy the cab.. 😊 Nik
11. Lovely bass Rob! Looks more Fendery than a Fender bass thing in Fullerton Fender Basstown! GLWTS
12. I did quite a lot of research on lightweight 1x15 cabs recently, and this is up there with the best of them, if not the best! In the end, I've gone down the 2x12 route, but if i hadn't done so, this is what i would have bought.. GLWTS
13.
This looks great. I've got the single 12" Ashdown Mi-bass cab which has been modified with a 500w 4 ohm speaker and is a great cab but yours looks like it could go very loud! Just to be clear, is this a 4ohm cab, i.e. 2 x 8ohm speakers? Also what do you think it would cost to ship?
Yes, it's a 4 ohm cab made up of 2 x 8 ohm drivers. Shipping would probably be about £25 i guess, but i could get a more accurate quote if you gave me a location..
14.
Whoah, that's an 800 watt rms cab. Those DAS drivers are real pro. A single one costs what Nik is asking for a pair in a nice Ashdown cab. http://www.toutlehautparleur.com/das-p12-8ohm.html Bargain!
Thanks for clarifying that for me Stevie; I thought the drivers were 300 watts each for some reason?? I'll amend the original ad later.. And yes, those DAS 12" drivers do sound fantastic! Nik
15.
I know some people prefer wood laminate ............ but I`m pleased to see that you`ve had `coconut Ice` fitted for your flooring ........ good luck with the sale nik!
That really made me chuckle, Jon! It's the basement floor actually and we paid top dollar for that 'coconut ice' look, I'll have you know! 😁
16. *** Now SOLD *** Hi Folks This is an Ashdown ABM 212T (2X12) cab that's been upgraded with two 400 Watt, 8 ohm, DAS Audio P12 12" drivers to make for an ever better sounding bass cab that delivers a very clear, very punchy and very deep bass sound that will take a lot of power and give a great sound even at high volumes! I'm looking for SOLD for this or very near offer. Here's a few photos: Description: I originally bought the cab without any speakers in it about a year ago on Gumtree, and then purchased the two, high-quality DAS Audio drivers to put into it after doing a bit of research on what drivers to use. My aim with this little project was to not only get a great natural bass sound, but also - knowing how good these drivers are - to get a great bass sound even when using lots of FX with my bass which I sometimes do.. Well, that was the aim I had at the beginning and I can definitely say that to my ears at least, it was achieved, because the cab sounds really good even when using octave pedals, bass synths etc. In fact, I A/B'd this against the SWR Triad that I sold recently and I thought this sounded better than the Triad, something that really surprised me because I've been a fan of the Triad for years (as some of you will now). As well as the two 12" drivers, this cab also has a tweeter with a three-way switch (high/low/off) which adds a little sparkle to the top end of your sound and is great for any slap bass players out there! At the back, the rear panel has connections for one speak-on input and one jack input (please note though; one of the two jack inputs isn't working). Other than that, it's all in good working order though it does shows signs of having been well used and well gigged! Reason for selling: As good as it sounds, I'm selling it because I find it a bit too heavy at 70 lbs for me to lift these days - ever since I put my back out at the end of last year at work. So now that I've bought a lighter cab, I'd like to sell this on to someone who can make good use of it and also, so that I can recoup some of what I've spent on it… Price: All in all, I've spent about £200 on this so I'm asking for £165.00 or a very near offer. Potential buyers are very welcome to come and check it out first and to hear it in action whilst being plied with plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits and chat! Equally, I'm happy to ship it if that's required? . Anyway, thanks for looking and if you've any questions, please send me a message and I'll do my best to answer them. Nik
