Eden USA WT 600 hybrid amp head. £425 - *SOLD*
silverfoxnik replied to jhk's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Wow - I can't believe this is up for sale @jhk! Such a powerful and brilliant sounding amp. Amazing eq, bi-amp facility, compressor... As warm and punchy as anything, and so solidly made too. I've lost count of the number of times I heard this in action at one of the South East Bass Bashes, paired with your Yamaha 6 string.. What a sound combination that was! Anyway, I hope you're keeping well Jon, and GLWTS! 😊 -
A pleasure to meet you too @mrtcat! Sounds like you've had a really busy 4 days, so I hope you enjoy your r&r time with your family... I always found wedding gigs to be the weirdest of the lot when I used to do them as part of a busy functions band.. Always seemed to go from one extreme to another, with not much in between! 😁

Hello Basschatters, Monday morning, post- holiday BUMP for this Ashdown classic amp... In true Basschat style, there's something else I'm keen on acquiring, so to help me fund that I'm willing to let this go for £475 to facilitate a very quick sale. To paraphrase my esteemed Basschat colleague @Owen, Want it, you know you do! 😁

Hi Folks, Oops! I've completely forgotten to bump this fantastic all valve amp up the listings recently, so in haste (as I'm my way to Gatwick Airport), this is a... 'I'm just about to go on holiday' BUMP! Back in 8 days time, but will be checking in on Basschat from time to time (as you do) from the pool side... Obviously, I'll be a lot poorer after being on my hols with both my kids, so feel free to make me a sensible-ish offer for this fabulous sounding bass amp... You never know - you might get lucky! 😉🍀😁 Cheers Nik

Hi Folks, I had the pleasure of finally meeting @Leftypeteyesterday to buy a Genz 112 cab from him. Pete's a great person to deal with and yet another highly valued and respected member of the Basschat community, so deal with him with absolute confidence! Thanks again Pete and all the best for now, Nik

Tokai Jazz Sound 1983 - CAR - Price Drop - *SOLD*
silverfoxnik replied to Steve Browning's topic in Basses For Sale
I had an '84 Jazz Sound back in the mid Noughties. It was a beautiful bass, which I (rather stupidly) traded with The Beedster in 2008 for a 5 string Musicman which I needed urgently at the time for the covers band I was in... Anyway my sellers remorse aside, the point of the story is that the '83 model I had was better than a 1966 Fender Jazz that I'd owned in the 90s - that's how good these Tokai Jazz Sound basses are from that era IMHO! Oh, and @Steve Browningis an absolutely top block and a pleasure to deal with, so you'll be in very good hands should you want to buy this bass. GLWTS Steve 👍😊 -
So, I had a bit of a play with this amp for the first time in a while yesterday... Gotta say, with the Aguilar 212 cab pictured, it makes one hell of a glorious sound - especially with a P Bass! Loud, punchy, fat and warm tones on the one hand, which will work for just about any kind of music... And then, just by using the mid and treble switches, you're into that gnarly, cutting straight through the mix rock/punk territory. It's full of character, this amp... When comparing it directly with my Mesa M-Pulse 600, the Mesa is definitely the more refined and tame sounding of the 2 amps. The Ashdown is definitely more 'alive', 3-D sounding to my ears. And the CTM-100 wants for nothing in the (perceived) volume department either. Obviously, this is completely subjective, and my ears are hardly in mint condition themselves after 45 years of being in bands, but in a straight up A/B with the M-Pulse, this amp more than holds it's own, and then some. Having said all of that, I do need to move it on (as I typically have my eye on something else), so I'm going to drop the price to £500 to see if that sparks some interest. Enjoy the Sunday weather folks - it's going to be a hot one! 🌞😁
