We do Figure It Out, again in a 2 x guitar, bass and drums set up and it always goes down a storm... It's great fun to play too! Royal Blood are quite well known where we gig though, as we're only 20 miles from Brighton, so that probably helps.

The Queen of Soul abdicates her throne...
silverfoxnik replied to TrevorR's topic in General Discussion
Wow! Totally agree Trevor; there's no one around in her class! I think it was Jerry Wexler, one of her producers, who said of Aretha: "She's all alone in her greatness" Hope she enjoys her retirement; she's earned it! -
Albums you think are crap but are critically acclaimed...
silverfoxnik replied to julesb's topic in General Discussion
It might have been mentioned already but here goes; the debut Stone Roses album. Utter sh*te. I'm guessing the reviewers who proclaimed it to be the saviour of music were 'E'd up like all the fans.
+1 And, dare I say it around here, anything by Jamiroquai - especially the first album - leaves me totally cold! Synthetic, 'wannabe Stevie Wonder', funkless drivel.. and that's it's good points! -
Always loved those old cheesy soul tunes, like 'Betcha By Golly Wow' by The Stylistics, and 'Zoom' by Fat Larry's Band...

Absolutely! My one had a Bartolini 3 band eq circuit in it and it was really versatile tonally.. I used it in a rock band and it sounded great. I had a Wal Custom 4 string at the time, and the Wal didn't get a look in, either live or in the studio. Got to say, this is a great price for a bass of this quality; my one cost £1450 new back in 1992, and I then spent another £250 on buying and fitting the electronics!
Bump! Thought someone would have took this of my hands by now
Me too.. I can't believe this is still here?? Great value for the money and it looks really cool! Looks like it replicates a lot of what the Roscoe Beck V would do, for a lot less money.. Anyway, GLWTS -

Hi there, Yes, it's still available but I don't have the plexiglass bridge cover I'm afraid. The badge on the headstock is what it came with when I bought it, and its also as the previous owner found it when he acquired it in the 1970s from its original owner. I also gig with it (a 2.5 hour set) using a wide leather strap, and have found it OK for me.. but it is almost 11 lb in weight so I realise that won't be the case for everybody. I'm based on the south coast in Littlehampton, West Sussex but am quite happy to ship the bass. Hope that helps, but let me know if you have any other questions. -
It's that time when we all get together to choose another 12 new numbers for the band. Been looking for something to buck things up a bit and came across this little gem. I think it'll be a winner as the original was huge in Europe and I think it'll be great fun to play. 99 red balloons by Goldfinger. Anybody else do it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-qfzH0vnOs
We do it and it goes down a storm at every gig!

Echoing all that's been said above already; he was a fabulous musician and we've lost far too many of his calibre recently.. RIP
Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull fame became a salmon farmer up on the Isle of Skye.He owns a large estate there.
IIRC, he also owned a record pressing plant called SRT that his daughter ran for him.. And Fergal Sharkey was an A&R guy for Polydor in the early 90s I believe.. had some very wide-shouldered, 'power-dressing suits' that were as far away from his punky Undertones look as you could possibly imagine.
Here's me admitting it was a 'bit tatty' to the buyer then Nik I think you knew that though, a fair price etc. It was a while ago. I would likely have ket a mint one. Definitely something special about them. I hope you're well Peter
I'm well thanks Peter - hope you are too! That T40 had plenty of Mojo as I recall and was perfect for my tastes, as I like a bass to have that roadworn look. My BC Rich Eagle has plenty of battle scars, but so it should as it's over 30 years old. I had an absolutely pristine JV series Squier P Bass once and had to sell it because I was afraid to use it because it was in such immaculate condition.. Anyway, back on topic, this thread is giving me serious T40 GAS! 😀
