1.
Again if you don't mind the MM bridge pickup then the Schecter Diamond-P Custom-5 is meant to be pretty decent.
I've had one of the Diamond P Custom 5s for four years now and I really rate it; somehow, it's managed to outlast two Roscoe Beck 5s that I've had too, which is saying something!
 2. Never heard one of these but I used a TE Quatra valve for a couple of gigs a while back, and it sounded absolutely fantastic.. So I bet this sounds just as good if not better! It was using the Quatra valve that finally persuaded me to get a valve amp and I haven't looked back since getting one last October. GLWTS
 3. Fabulous! Goes completely against the grain in terms of modern lightweight cabs, but IMO it looks as cool as you can get, and I bet those two Ev 15" drivers sound amazing.. GLWTS
 4.
Will be along. I guess as Paul Herman will be there I should bring my Wal Mark2!! Should be fun.
Great stuff!
 5. Love the look of the cabs, so have a bump on me! GLWTS
 6. Beautiful collection of basses, Chris. Takes a lot of guts, vision (or stupidity) to let all 3 go at once!! But if you didn't do this sort of thing once in a while, it just wouldn't be so much fun around here. GLWTS x 3
 7.
Disappointing to read all these derogatory comments from a bunch of supposed musicians. Not liking something is one thing, but rubbishing other artists' works? Hmm.
Yep, my thoughts entirely.. Bowie led by example encouraging musicians to be open minded and experimental, which is as much a part of his legacy IMO as is his fantastic back catalogue of music. As this event was part of The Proms where classical music is the predominant mode of presentation, I think the use of orchestra with other instrumentation was really good.. At times the orchestration reminded me of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill and at other times, Philip Glass - all of whom Bowie was a long time admirer of. He also collaborated with Philip Glass on the Low Symphony and covered Brecht/Weill songs, so I think they organisers and arrangers got the overall balance and tone of it absolutely right. Just my 2p worth of course...
 8.
It wasn't my sort of thing but I'm glad it was done. It would be a boring world if boundaries were not pushed. Heck, without a bit of boundary pushing most of Bowie's catalogue would not exist in the first place!
+1
 9. I loved it from start to finish and think Bowie would have done too! Anna Calvi's version of 'Lady Grinning Soul' was a particular highlight, but there were many others that really moved me. The Five Years documentary is a great watch, with some brilliant rare footage and very insightful journalism.
 10.
Absolute stunner!
+1 GLWTS
 11. I used to have one of these and it was a brilliant cab for the money! It produced more low end than my SWR Triad does and when I sold it, the singer in the band was absolutely mortified as he was a bit of a 'basshead'. Anyway, GLWTS
 12. Just two months to go now, Folks!!
 13. Bought some strap locks from Gareth which arrived super fast and are just what I need for my bass. Can't recommend Gareth highly enough Folks!! Thanks Gareth Nik
 14.
Been a bit of a whirlwind since the Herts Bass Bash, but didn't want to forget to thank Mick for being a great customer and a great all round guy. Mick's drive and input was an excellent spur to trying to get the best from the Silk Bass and free gifts kept arriving through the post. The lit up acrylic logo light he gave to me at the bash was completely unexpected and something I will use whenever I'm showing off my wares... All round top guy and pleasure to deal with
+1
 15.
I'm only 50/50 at the moment just because work is so unpredictable but if I make it I can bring the JG Custom
That'd be great, especially with Paul Herman coming along.. ,
 16.
Surely that should be Jaffa tape ...
17. Hard to believe this is still here?? Quality bass with a cool look to it, great pick ups and a bit of a rarity vibe as well.. Priced very competitively too! GLWTS
 18.
I suggest a banana, a tomato, and a roll of gaffa tape.
19.
And as the man who sold it you you, I'd agree with all of that Nik, a glorious piece of kit at every level. You're using (IIRC) a 1x15, match this head with a 4x10, or dare I say even an 8x10, and those dudes would have to turn up to 12
I'm using it with a 1x15 and a 2x10, Chris and it's just a fabulous, fabulous sound.. Back on topic.. This must be a similarly great sounding head btw, so as said previously, GLWTS.
