And now...……. I have been offered second chance on this for £95 cash on collection as apparently the winning bidder can't pay till November - I don't actually want it so does anybody else want it at that price, or I'll just decline, explain I was only bidding it up to help vendor get a decent price and then doubtless it will be relisted again with £52 start price and someone may be able to get it for that
-
would have gone for £52 if I hadn't bid it up to £99.99 - apologies if you were the multi-bid winner who was out on the town last night and wanted to make sure that you won it, but you were probably prepared to pay £200 for it so you are just glad you got a bargain If a 52 came along I'd be interested in that

The original strings fitted are supposed to be American made, J&D brand. Maybe the same ones fitted to the Ibanez Mikro basses as they are same scale length, they are available from Ibanez and online from France on ebay. Standard short scale strings fit but you will have a little top wrap on the post on the E string but I haven't had a problem with that, and lots of standard scale strings end up with a little top wrap on the E string on some 34" scale inline 4 headstocks I have found depending on bridge design and closeness of tuner to nut, especially flat wounds. I don't actually have a strat to compare with but overall body size is about the same size as my telecaster and only a couple of inches longer than it overall

Wooden body version, these were £500 new weren't they, seems to be some love online for them https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cort-Curbow-4-String-Bass/113291177370 someone really wants it, they have 5 bids in for it

I have two of these, a black one which I changed the pots on for a used set which had series parallel push pull pot set up on, fretted, wearing LaBella flats, and a sunburst one which I defretted, made a new bone nut for it and fitted some nice old alnico pups in and a heavy bridge and wearing black tape wounds as the rosewood board is too soft for steel strings without being epoxied or similar - I have the fretless out for noodling on again at the moment and I really love it, pickguard removed for the full faux Jaco look, the burst finish is nicely done The black one I would sell , complete with two sets of slightly used original J&D strings (USA made it says). The ceramic pickups aren't bad just not great. 2014 built model (bought early 2015) so also rosewood board. It's boxed up at the moment ready to ship as I have had bad gas last year and too many instruments. The build, neck especially and finish is pretty good how they do it at the price is totally beyond me. The scale size tuners do a very good job for me, but I don't slap just a little percussive picking. Only fault was the fitting of the pickguard, hand drilled screw holes a couple of attempts on a few clearly, screws loose, so I filled them and refitted it. The bridge is actually perfectly fine bbot. Weight about 3Kg, body is Strat size, overall length 102cm, fits in a Gator x large guitar hard case perfectly I'm not sure that these J&D aren't the same as some of the Japanese market ones that come up for sale at 3 times the price, the Japanese ones don't say they are made in Japan and they have the same shape headstock so if made for Japanese market would explain the quality.

Dawsons were able to order Ibanez pots and preamp board in for me for my old Ergodyne, took a few weeks, I was impressed that Ibanez could supply parts for quite an old instrument
-
serial number belongs to a Aerodyne Stratocaster® (2005-2007)
-
the J type neck pickup fitted fine, My Artist has the MM type bridge which I haven't changed
-
Thanks for easy transaction and nice feedback, enjoy the strings
-
Go passive and use Alan Entwhistle pickups would be my 1st option at reasonable cost, a set of new pots and socket and fresh wiring, but you could use them with the existing active set up and trim accordingly on the circuit board the pickups are individually adjustable if it's the same as the Tanglewaters I have a Tanglewater and the neck J pickup had uneven output, quiet D string, I put an Entwhistle in instead

bang tidy, enjoy the fruits of your labour (and a dadge of mine) well polished 😎

According to Fender's website serial number registration that bass should be a Highway One™ Precision Bass and The Highway One Precision was a US-built bass with a satin lacquer finish. Available in Cherry, Sunburst, and Blonde. Years of Production: 2003 - 2011 Body Style: Solidbody double cutaway Wood Composition: Alder body, Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard Design Elements: Bolt-on neck, dot inlays, 34-inch scale length I suspect what you have is correct, but it is just possible some of it may have been changed, later Highway ones had badass high mass bridge and greasebucket tone circuit but the first ones like yours didn't here's the link LINK to the parts list the numbers look good and silver with black edge logo is correct for the year Looking at other photos on google the body looks right from the stamps and marks and the label under the neck pick-up

yes, and on mine the fretboard is flame but neck isn't

For sale only no trades thank you in original Kala fitted gig-bag, 2012 Kala acoustic body UBass 2-FS model, in black, without preamp, shadow pickup direct output via strap pin type jack socket - Kala Gloss Black U-Bass Specs: Gloss Black Solid Spruce Top Mahogany back and sides Mahogany neck Rosewood fingerboard and bridge 16 frets 21 inch scale Custom Die Cast Tuners Proprietary Polyurethane strings Custom Kala and Road Toad logo inlays Custom Shadow Electronics Separate compensated saddles for each string List price includes a Deluxe Custom U-Bass Embroidered Logo Gig Bag Meets all airline carry-on requirements Set-up by Kala in the USA Price: $550.00 Rosewood fretboard and bridge parts if that matters for travel now and going forward, which given the portability of the instrument and part of the Ubass' very raison d'être I guess it might Fitted with a set of Aquila ThunderReds, the original Pahoehoe strings are included but they are 6 years old and were a already a bit stretched before I removed them it's just like this one on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwtzkNre1_k It's in pretty fair condition nothing much more than light use and normal marks, smoke free use: the rear hatch cover may have been replaced previously as it's not a perfect paint match or fit and there's a minor finish damage to the edge of it, but I see the one on the Youtube video also has a colour mismatch so that may be normal, I'm not the original owner, I bought it used from Ebay a couple of years ago and it had come used from the states via Ebay previously. I bought it as I wanted a fretted UBass to go with my fretless TWRBE, but I found a used fretted TWRBE so this is for sale now as I prefer the Tanglewoods with their slightly bigger dimensions (neck join 14th fret as opposed to 12th on Kala) , though the Kala is a better quality instrument but was certainly overpriced new due to 'brand value'. I have added a strap pin to the heel of the neck of this Ubass as I prefer strap attached there rather than acoustic guitar style shoestring behind the nut. Including shipping mainland UK and paypal fees, bass is in SY22 if you want to come and try it, REDUCED TO £150 cash collected, £158 bank transfer shipped Pictures are not the best colourwise, but I have already packed it up to ship as I thought it had sold a few weeks ago and I don't want to unpack it again just to take more pictures Thanks for looking

for me on pc monitor speakers number 2 VM, quite like 1 AN as well - guessing 2 is a jazz type, 1 is a p type ?

thanks for sharing

Hope it works out for you, but to me that headstock set up just looks wrong, top two strings great routing, middle string tight bend at the nut and then the low string reverse wound onto tuner weird, so is the tuner reversed or do you have to live with it going the opposite way to the others ? I think Warwick headstocks always look wrong too, tight angles on middle strings at nut
-
thanks for sharing, bootiful looking bass, congratulations

No problem, it's back together but can be neck off again The fingerboard came up well and the frets polished up and the back of the neck is nice and smooth now If you want the action lower than 2.3mm you'd want to pop a shim in the neck pocket as the E string saddle is almost on the bridge plate, I found a card shim in there when I took the neck off, but without the shim it set straight back up to standard Fender Jazz settings, 0.014" neck relief at the 8th fret and 2.3mm string height, no fret buzz anywhere I found.
