  1. Hi, can you see if it’s been rounded off and have you tried a bigger Allen key
  2. Great one, thanks t-h , stop that train has to be in my top ten tunes, I like this too, can’t work out who’s on bass
  3. Really nice, very similar to Robbie Shakespeare’s PRS
  4. Sorry jazzy I’ve no experience of this either so I can’t really help you there, great rig my friend
  5. Not you sir 😁, some people can’t take the bass
  6. Hi Fraser, I never found the headphone switch very good on mine, it never sounded clear and used to stick occasionally, I had Dave green remove mine, I think really you need to put it through a cab to check it out properly, good luck
  7. My son sent me this on Spotify but I found it here, I’m sure you’ll remember Black Slate, good tune really liking the Bassline and I’ve been going through all of Channel One sound system videos lately ,and Luc As has some great ones on his channel if you like that kind of stuff
  8. UB40 is a bit like this for me, their first album Signing off was superb for its time, and I like Kingston town as much as the original, impossible love is another I like to play, Earl Falconer is a great player imo , but there’s also a lot of tracks that I struggle to listen to, especially since they parted ways and there’s effectively 2 bands
  9. Hope it gets found, I’d keep checking gumtree and Shpock and such like places
  10. one of my stack knob jazzes was a bit bright sounding so kiogon rewired it for me and fitted the 0.1uF cap, it made a big difference for me and sounds great
  11. I’ve only ever bought and sold face to face with gumtree and Shpock, there is no cover at all as far as I know, but to answer mick , If you feel it will do some good naming then I can’t see a problem, good luck
  12. I had lessons for it during my short period of wanting to learn some slap lines, Freddie makes it look so easy, I wouldn’t expose anyone to my version, it wouldn’t be fair on their ears 😁
  13. What a great guy and a wonderful player, he plays so effortlessly especially on forget me nots , which I don’t think is easy to play
  14. Another one to maybe give a watch is my friend don talking about how he gets his reggae tone
  15. I’d say his sound is a combination of different things and his amazing playing style, just a suggestion, I don’t know the technical stuff, would it be possible for you to have your pickup rewound to your specification ie darker
  16. I’ve studied Aston’s playing for years and he was amazing imo, he played mainly a very early 70s jazz bass, I’ve read on a few occasions that the bridge cover still had the foam in (but I can’t verify that) , and he also used flatwounds and played close to the neck , my guess is he just used the neck pickup and bridge and tone off , when I use my jazzes I have the bridge pickup off and tone rolled back, I also just back off the neck pup just a touch and it gives me a fatter deeper sound
  17. In all these years I never knew they did a Fender Custom Shop James Jamerson Precision Bass
  18. Not someone I normally watch but Scott’s bass lessons doing reggae, interesting
  19. Absolutely, I think the OP is going in person to see this one
  20. Cool, definitely worth having a look if it’s local, good luck and let us know how you get on
  21. Cheers, didn’t think they came in until later than 79
  22. Hi, Seems a bit cheap for a 79, pickup covers aren’t original , looks like it could be sienna burst, I’d suggest putting this in the vintage fenders thread for some more opinions Robert
