  1. Yeah I saw that and thought the same, I’d say it’s a parts one put together
  2. I don’t normally go for the late 70s ones and usually i like as original as poss but I’ve got a strange attraction to this 77, I was looking for an early P bass to just leave at the studio , been watching it for ages https://ebay.us/m/wkghNy
  3. It all looks good and I like that colour combo but for me I couldn’t get on with that body rout , but I suppose that’s reflected in the price , I’ve been looking at a lot of 60s precisions lately and they have gone up considerably
  4. A good friend of mine is in a rock band, it’s not really my kind of music but it’s good to see him and watch him play as he’s a great bass player, but unfortunately I’ve stopped going because they are so loud it’s uncomfortable
  5. That’s been up for sale on quite a few different sites for a long time , I’ve seen it before, not one for me
  6. Ah yeah I remember that too, would have been around the mid 80s I think, all the basses were on the back end of the shop, I also used a studio just round the corner but can’t remember the name of it
  7. Been having a bit of a Don Carlos weekend going through many of his albums, here’s a few that have stuck with me
  8. There was 2 I vaguely remember in Leytonstone high road, Freedman’s and Holiday Music, would’ve been around 78/80, I was having bass lessons as a teen and it was probably the first place I saw a fender jazz for sale but couldn’t afford anything like that then, I’ve made up for it since 😁, I found one pic but nothing for freedman’s
  9. I like the black blocks on a maple board, mainly because of Aston Barrett’s 71 jazz bass, but agree with the rest
  10. Neck through basses ( and I’ve got one) you can never get the action low enough and you can’t shim them Fast crazy show off slapping
  11. I don’t use the covers on my P and jazz basses, but my AVRI 62P came with the bridge cover fitted so I left it on, all my the screws go in a small sealable bag and stored in the hard cases, same with the thumb/finger rests and screws
  12. Very nice, looks like an L series and in really great condition
  13. Very cool little thing, and they do come up for sale now and again on reverb
  14. The mini precision and jazz doesn’t take up much space
  15. Hi Rob, I’ve spoken with Phil many times but we’ve never actually done a deal, last time was his 72P, he’s mainly guitars but does get some decent basses sometimes
  16. I don’t blame you tricky, if it has sentimental memories you have to keep it 🙂, they are both really nice 👍
  17. Hi pete, I like a bit of Ampeg myself, that looks great and don’t think they are particularly prone to any faults really, just play it and enjoy it whenever you can, good luck to you
  18. That was a beauty miles, I remember it well
  19. Yeah they do get some great ones sometimes, I saw that 1965 Fender Precision Bass the other day, it’s mint for the year beautiful
  20. I did the same and lasted about 8 seconds, never heard of Rumble before
  21. Loving that colour, nice one
