  1. There’s definitely no shortage of bass, I’ve had it up to max and it’s even too much for me 😁
  2. I didn’t know they sounded different as I went straight for the Pro, cheers
  3. Hi , I’ve got the pro version and I think it’s really good, I believe the difference is the pro has more amps, cabs and pedals to choose from, I’d say it’s worth the difference in price, others more knowledgeable will probably advise more, this thread might be helpful
  4. Just thought I’d drop this one here from Babylon by Bus, one of the best songs on the album for me and such a wonderful Bassline from Aston, it’s one I’m re learning at the moment and every time I hear it I notice something slightly different, so good
  5. Yeah, I actually found that out many years ago while playing about one day, add some labella LTFs and it’s the perfect reggae sound
  6. Yeah, liking that a lot, good bassline to learn
  7. I’ve had many other basses but after the initial honeymoon period I’ve always ended up picking up one of my jazzes or precision’s, they just feel like home to me so they are all I buy now
  8. Nice one Chris, I’ve played this a long time ago and it’s quite a tricky one I thought than it first sounds
  9. Dancehall Friday, I think this one will just squeeze in and can’t remember if we’ve had Beres Hammond yet
  10. Just found out that Junior Byles passed away yesterday, RIP and respect
  11. If you like Bitty McLean and Sly and Robbie, which I think is a great combination, I’d recommend giving the album Forward a listen, really enjoyed it
  12. I think it’s an intentional feature myself and not faulty machinery or they would have put it right in the first place
  13. They obviously didn’t know what they was talking about Jazzy, it’s a beauty
  14. Here’s a picture of the underside of a set from 63 , interesting it is just a contour/step to the edge
  15. Well spotted , I’ve been looking and it appears that they stopped using the stepped one in late 65
  16. Yeah I think so dmc, could just be different manufacturers, just looked at mine out of curiosity both labella
  17. I cut mine a bit longer than Chris so about 2 1/2 inches which gives me 3 winds or so, it doesn’t matter how short or long you have them it wouldn’t change the silks lining up I don’t think, most of my labella’s just line up as it’s the way they are made
  18. Hi jezza, Could you open up some of the wood around the broken bit with a small screwdriver enough to maybe get some long nose pliers on it to unscrew
  19. I’m no expert on the 5 string but to me the headstock is the wrong shape for a fender , truss rod adjustment is not at the heel, pretty sure the American pro ll has 2 string trees, wrong neckplate, wrong bridge, I think it’s as described as not a fender
  20. If anyone is interested the Bob Marley Uprising live concert is on Sky Arts , and another good program is on after that too about Marley , and later is the Cimarons story which is definitely worth recording, quite a touching story
  21. Learning the Bassline to this one and while going through different recordings I came across this, backed by the Gladiators
  22. Sounds like a great night, nice one
  23. That’s what I used for quite a few years and I’ve still got one of them, great cabs , nice deep bass
  24. A favourite of mine at the moment I’ll be working on tomorrow
